Great spot for simple traditional Korean shaved ice. I tried both the OG and Gold Bingsoo(both around $ 9) and I really enjoyed both! The OG is sweater since it has some sweetened condensed milk and the Gold just tasted like traditional Korea. The best part was the mochi balls that they top each bingsoo with. I just wished they had more of them! What is also great is that they have they bong o bang(fish shaped bread) here! You can have them either cream filled or red bean filled($ 6 for 5). They make them fresh and they are amazing! Crispy, hot, and doughy! I recommend trying one of each cream filled and with the red beans. If you do not speak Korean(like me) communication with the staff could be a little tough.

Cute little shop. We really enjoyed the red bean OG snow bowl the red bean was perfect, not too sweet. And the snow was pretty delicious too.

Who eats bingsoo, Korean shaved ice, first thing in the morning? Someone who has a plane to catch within three hours. Yeah, me. I’m currently stationed in NorCal and there is no Korean shaved ice as legit as the ones in Los Angeles(aside from Seoul). So as my last«meal» before heading back home, I happily get a brain freeze at 11am. My flight departs at 1:45pm. I take my sweet time, savoring each icy bite. My heart tingles. Legit bingsoo, how I have missed you! The Green Tea Bingsoo with a hat of thick red bean paste arrives in its golden bowl. Mister and Misses Mochi sing a duet on the cushiony paste. The moment your spoon scoops a bite out of that shaved ice, notice how smoothly this simple action occurs. I’ve had bingsoo where you have to break down the ice with your spoon, otherwise all the clumped ice spins around the bowl in circles. Okrumong bingsoo takes out that extra step and gives you princess treatment. Enough talk of the looks. What about its flavor? The green tea shaved ice tastes like, well, matcha. Earthy. The white layer of ice underneath is bland. For sugary goodness, you can depend on the red bean paste. This bingsoo is suitable for those with a semi-sweethtooth. With a smile, I have a chill ride to the airport. Sure, I may miss my flight if traffic awaits on the 10 and 405, but having that Green Tea Bingsoo was worth every trouble. PS: Patbbang come in various shapes. Some do not have a hole in the middle. Others are sliced to resemble flowers. Some Patbbang contain very little red bean paste with thick white bread around it. Okrumong’s Patbbang has the ideal bread-to-paste ratio. Their bread allows the red bean paste to show off its flavor.

Good location as it’s in the same plaza as Hae Jang Chong kbbq so perfect if you want to grab a quick dessert. BUT it’s pretty overpriced for what you get. Two bingsoo came out to be about $ 18. Essentially it’s just shaved ice, red bean and mochi. And you only get 2 pieces of mochi. Yeah it’s pretty in their gold bowl and perfectly rounded shape but not really worth it.

I have been to various shaved ice places in Northern California to Southern California and even in the motherland, S.korea. Out of them all my favorite will always be okrumong. I always get either the golden shaved ice(injeorlmi) or green tea and they never disappoint! It’s a little expensive at around $ 9 for a bowl but it’s so satisfying. The best part about okrumong is the layer the shaved ice so there is flavor in each bite. This is definitely one of my go to places for dessert in k town. ^_^

Simplicity is key and this place is all about that. There’s none of those sugar-glazed fruits, ice cream, or copious amounts of condensed milk in their patbingsoo so it may be a little healthier than other bingsoo places like anko and sul&beans. It’s literally just ice, red beans, big mochi balls, and condensed milk. Love how there are more red beans nestled in the middle layer of the ice mound. You can never go wrong with their OG Snow Bowl($ 8), my favorite. Super fluffy ice that just melts in your mouth. They don’t overdo it with the condensed milk so it has a gentle sweet flavor. The Green Snow Bowl has the same amazing ice texture and sweetness but the green tea powder that they use leaves a starchy aftertaste. I had to eat the sweet red beans with each bite to make it taste less bitter. Even though I love all things green tea, I don’t think I’ll be ordering this again in the future. Valet parking. Already craving some. T_T

Went today to get some drinks. I got the green tea slush, which is $ 4.25. My man got the regular coffee, which is $ 1.25. The place was empty, even though it could seat at least 30 people. One person came in while we waited for our drinks to be prepared. There are very few drink options. I think this place specializes in Korean treats, like porridge and ice based desserts. My boyfriend liked the cheap coffee. I think the green tea slush was a total rip. It was 75% ice. Never again. Next time, I will just get boba.

Soooooo yummy I love this place ! Perfect for traditional and simple bingsoo that doesn’t have chemical marshmallows and plastic looking frozen fruit That being said it’s a bit pricey for the quantity but otherwise nothing negative to say

It was my first time here. I accidentally ordered the OG snow cup instead of the bowl… Oops! The OG snow cup comes with the milk based shaved ice with yogurt, granola, almonds, coconut flakes and honey. The OG snow cup was really refreshing. It was not overly sweet and all of the ingredients blended well with each other. I definitely will return to try the OG snow bowl and perhaps get another OG snow cup. The store is super cute and clean. The employees were helpful and they didn’t call me stupid or treat me like I was dumb when I thought I ordered the snow bowl instead of the cup.

Really good dessert place! A chill spot if you opt out of drinking and korean bbq. We ordered the Green Tea and Red Bean bowl. Prices are pretty steep but it was a pretty big portion. Not overly sweet but definitely satisfied my sweet tooth craving. They have free barley tea and water near the front door. The bowls are actually pretty nice. They sell them separately for 40 bucks!

MMMMMMMMBLACKSESAMESHAVEDICE It comes with red bean and mochi on the side. The ice was fineeeeee, no ice pieces! The black sesame tastes semi sweet and goes well with the red bean. It’s pretty small for a group to share plus the price. But hey it’s korean style so I guess it’s more about presentation and all that. Hah. But def worth a try! If I’m ever in k town, Ima try the other flavors

Pretty good patbingsoo place aka Korean shaved ice… We got their green tea shaved ice and the ice was very soft and fluffy. And it tasted like green tea which was good. I just wish it was a little sweeter? Plus their rice cake on top was very bland. But overall the red beans were good and I liked the green tea flavored ice. I would wanna go back and try their injolmi shaved ice and compare it w sul&beans.

In my eyes, this place has been undefeated in the realm of korean shaved ice for a long time now! I have yet to find a place that can replaced them. My default shaved ice order here is the one with the five grain powder, red bean, and mochi. Five grain powder is to die for, I recommend asking for more on the side! Red bean is tasty and not too sweet. Mochi is the usual. In addition to the shaved snow, I also recommend trying their rice drink and red bean bun. Rice drink: Sweetened beverage with actual rice bits in it. Sounds a little out of the ordinary but worth trying Red bean bun: Great choice for someone who is a fan of red bean! One star deduction for the fact that I am always forced to pay for valet every time I come here. Final Verdict: Thumbs up.

Had been wanting to try Okrumong ever since I saw them in Torrance. The K-town store is right next to Hae Jang Chong KBBQ and is good when your mouth is coated in meat residue. Okrumong is definitely something different. They have traditional Korean desserts such as teh bingsu but they are constantly making new things as well. Their famous new slush drink was just a tad too sweet for me. I had the mango flavor with bits of mango jelly inside. I also tried the black sesame which was more balanced and tasted pretty good. The presentation of their desserts is wonderful but as a personal preference, I prefer snow shaved ice more. One thing I will say is that it is good to know that there are actually Korean ajummas working here so you know they are creating these desserts with good quality stuff and making it with tried and true recipes.

Not a huge fan of patbingsoo, but came along as I have heard great things about this place. The texture of the ice is quite tasty, perfect melt in your mouth, and the presentation with the traditional gold cups and spoons is great! I would say for the price of it is quite high though.

I have a slight addiction to patbingsoo. I’ve had Okmurong on my go-to list for some time now and was finally able to visit this location. And for a Wednesday it was packed! I ordered the Gold Snow Bowl. It came with a side of red bean and two pieces of mochi. For some reason I was expecting it to be much bigger. I guess in photos it looks rather large. I shared with my mom, but I definitely could’ve managed another one. I saw reviews saying something about them being too sweet? Mine was perfect! It was a perfect blend of sweet and savory(the grain powder). I thought I preferred sweet, elaborate bingsoos, but this showed me that simple flavors are just as good. Considering how warm it was, it hardly melted, which is probably due to the shape of the bowl and what it’s made of. My only complaint is that there was a weird smell lingering in the store. It smelled like diapers and baby wipes for some reason.

Love this place. Its been really crowded these days though. I recommend the green tea snow bowl for anyone who likes green tea. The ice is super high quality(if there is such a thing). Very soft! I also like the black sesame and the golden snow bowls. :) They all comes with house made red beans and a couple of rice cakes whether on the side or in top. Sometimes their iced coffee is free at the self serve station at this location. I would love to try some of their porridges one day. I keep forgetting they serve this… Also i wish they served their snow bowls with the metal/golden spoons. They do at the Torrance location but here they give you plastic spoons. Parking really sucks as well as their valet. Street parking is possible though it may be far.

3 ½ stars. Parking situation: All these Korean plazas have valet which is awesome but this place is always packed because of Hae Jang Chon Korean BBQ. Valet is $ 2 which isn’t too shabby. Price: A little on the pricy side. The OG shaved snow bowl was $ 8.25 before taxes. It was a decent size for two people but it’s honestly just red bean, mochi, shaved ice, and condensed milk — how much does it really cost to make? Either way, it was delicious! You can NEVER go wrong with condensed milk. Red bean is definitely a hit or miss for some but I definitely recommend being open minded and trying it at least once. Service: Marginal as hell. They’re too busy to even smile. Recommendation: The OG slush — $ 4.50 before taxes. I looooovedddd it! There were pieces of red bean which mixes very well with the milk and whipped cream. I went with something different today and got the Black slush which I do not recommend! It has black sesame which I usually love but this slushie had a unsweetened grainy taste to it.

High quality bingsu(Korean shaved ice). The really good, milky kind with perfect texture rather than the poor imitations made with big chunks of ice that are abundant in Ktown. We ordered the OG which comes with red bean and two pieces of mochi. So simple but delicious! The shaved ice is super milky and finely grated into a perfect fluffy texture and the mochi is soft and chewy. Not the best bang for your buck, but I’ll definitely be back to satisfy my bingsu cravings.

It’s a deep price to pay for a bowl of high quality Korean shaved ice(Patbingsu) I’ve heard and seen the fame of Okrumong in the same plaza as Hae Jang Chon BBQ. Yet, the heavy crowd and unforgiving parking situation have always deterred me from trying it. Finally, on one particular weekday evening that was not too hot, I walked right into the Okrumong with no lines and plenty of seats. Maybe the fame has died down or that more of its kinds(i.e., Sul & Beans) are now competing for the same audience. Nevertheless, I’m glad I didn’t have to wait 30 minute just to get a bowl of ice. The menu is simple — bingsu(shave ice) with various toppings –traditional red bean bingsu(signature snow milk shaved ice topped with«authentic cauldron-cooked» Korean red bean and sticky rice cake balls(mochi). — This is what I got and I have to say that the mochi balls were excellent — chewy at just the right degree. I don’t know how to really appreciate red bean but I don’t think I can really tell if it was cooked in a cauldron or pot or skillet or whatever. –green tea bingsu — same thing but with green tea flavor. –black sesame seed bingsu they also have porridge(traditional red bean, sweet red bean, and sweet pumpkin) — This may be a good choice for a cold winter night. There are also various desserts and snack that looked interesting but I didn’t get a chance to try. Given that this place is just as busy and expensive as Sul & Bean, Okrumong really loses out by not having easy parking access the way Madang Plaza gives validation for its indoor parking garage. Maybe if one is to have some sweets after Hae Jang Chon BBQ(but why are you saving room for dessert after AYCE?)… otherwise, coming here to find parking and waiting through the crowd just for a bowl of ice is not for the faint of heart. At $ 8+ a bowl(that’s equivalent of a Chipotle burritos or 2 In&Out Double Doubles or 2 large cups of boba), Okrumong is for the epicureans and the gourmandizers.
