It was our first time trying juice cleanse and shot. So I am not sure if it tasted good compared to other places. First impression is the store was pretty small but clean and organized. The cashier was friendly to give us some recommendations of which we tried out, Joy Juice and Classic shot. The Classic shot was spicy as warned but felt pretty cool. We got Joy Juice because it was recommended as most popular and most pleasant but we still found it quite unusual to taste. Overall, cool experience. Would recommend this place.

Overpriced and uneventful Acai bowls! The woman who took my order was not very friendly. I ordered the bowl with Spirulina and it was runny. Only toppings were green apples, bananas and a little bit of coconut. If I’m going to spend $ 12 I would definitely go to Backyard Bowls or DRNK Coffee + Tea(right down the street) instead!

I was torn between 2&3 stars. Firstly, what kind of an excuse of an acai bowl is this?! It’s like a runny juice that they pour into a plastic container and throw some apples and coconut over. So weird, especially given the amazing acai bowls all around LA that they could easily get inspiration from(backyard bowls is No. 1!). And no granola in the acai bowl… isn’t granola standard? Or at least to be provided as an option? Speaking of options, it is a shame that they don’t /won’t put any whey protein or protein supplements into the smoothies by request. And yet they name one of their smoothies Green Protein. Okay, we get it, there is protein in green leafy vegetables. But there are a billion more people looking for an additional protein kick. The market for this is HUGE in LA, and it baffles me that it’s not at least an additional option. Clearly the owners are purists, but what’s the point of being a purest when the shop goes out of business and you can’t help anyone. Believe it or not my comments genuinely come from a good place, because I see so many great businesses close their doors due to stubbornness, when a slight tweak could make them explode! Finally, the reason I don’t come here even for juices is that all the juices are pre-made. Sure they are made daily on the premises, but it 100% loses its fresh appeal once it’s in a bottle on a shelf. Especially for people like myself who are home juicers, and see the difference between a legit fresh made juice, and one that sits in the fridge for even a couple of hours. Going elsewhere is a no-brainier when you can drive 5 mins in any direction and buy a fresh made juice, that they juice on demand. So — I will come back, for the 5 shots, but unfortunately that’s it.

Very fresh and super nice staff. I ordered the two smoothies with protein(green and almond butter). Yummy and perfect before a hike through Runyon Canyon.

I give this place 2 stars because I love their apple pucker juice. Sadly, their service and their acai bowl not very good! I came in today and literally waited around, and no one would come to the counter. I said«Hello? Hello?» and no one would answer. Finally, I rang the little bell on the counter. Some guy finally said«Give me a few!». I was the only one there, so it’s not like he was making any orders… Who knows! When he finally came out, he seemed bothered I was there. I asked if the acai bowl had any nuts, and he stoically said, «the menu says what’s in it». Uhhh, okay, I was just wondering as I’m highly allergic and it’s standard for me to ask! Geez. After my unpleasant transaction with this young man, I finally received my order over 10 minutes later. Two other people walked out during this process as there was nobody at the counter. Not sure why they only have one person working? I have to say, I was very disappointed with the acai bowl. $ 12 for a messy, watery, and overly sweet substance that may as well have been a juice. It wasn’t a thick texture as I’ve had in other places. It was practically liquid in a very awkward to-go box. The toppings? banana and apple. Fancy! I could have made this at home. I was very tempted to ask for my money back. Judging by some of the other acai bowl photos, they can’t seem to get the acai bowl right.

Very small shop on Sunset the size of a shoe box. Came here to grab a smoothie. Grab and go situation. Come here late at night. Guy inside was blaring loud metal music. Good prices.

Their motto here is: «Made fresh daily, with love.» Well, everything here MUST be made with Love — and lots of it! What other reasonable explanation could there be for how inexplicably delicious everything is?! Must try: The Apple Pie, Shakti, Empowerment, and the Almond Butter Protein smoothies. Not only are they delicious, but very fulfilling as well, and could suffice as a mid-day meal. The vanilla cheesecake and goji berry balls are out of this world. Sure, this place may be a little bit pricier than the average smoothie/juice/raw/organic/vegan quick-stop shop– but there is nothing average about anything in here. The quality of ingredients, flavors, and service is anything but average.

This is my go to place, when I don’t have enough time to juice it myself. Always fresh, great customer service. Variety of juice mixtures and always packed.

I LOVE open source organics, I have been coming here for a long time. The staff and owner are super friendly, juices are awesome and I love that the drinks are not just tasty, but healthy at the same time. My favorite is the joy juice… If you are ever in that neck of the woods you should totally try it out… delish!!!

A free wellness shot for my Unilocal Check-in. I ordered the Shakti Smoothie and raw chipotle avocado sandwich. Completely yum. Open Source Organics is pricer than the competition, however, they’re not around here. It’s a neighborhood flooded with fast food joints, which I don’t really mind… However, I like the healthy option in the vicinity too.

I’ve been coming to Open Source Organics for a long time. I recognize that it is pricey but I believe that finding the same quality and taste in smoothies and juices elsewhere for less is not easy. I’m not crazy about most of the food but I do love the goji berry cheesecake balls. They must be made with some magic from another planet… so good. I highly recommend this place. The green protein, and superfood juice are excellent and sometimes, when on the run, I drink both back to back and skip lunch. They give me enough energy for the whole day. Anyone know how many grams of sugar are in the acai bowl? Those are delicious too but I’m concerned if I start having them often, i will be eating too much sugar.

So I was in the area and decided to stop since I remember the other location on Robertson and recall the tasty drink I had there some time ago. The good thing about this location is that theres free parking in the shopping center. However this location is super tiny. There is no restroom. Lucky if you can fit more than 5 standing customers in here w/o stepping on some toes. Its pretty cramped in there. This time around I went with the energy elixer. It was really warming and I love that it had Ashwahganda, Maca and tocopherol. The dates sweetened it but it was not over the top either. It was just what I needed. I was told by the guy working there that the other location is no longer owned by Open Source. New owners over on Robertson are Alchemy. I wonder if they are in any way affiliated w/Grassroots Alchemy… and to my dismay they also closed down. Makes me sad bc I loved GA!!! I’ll have to check out Alchemy and see what they’re all about too. Open Source is awesome and I’d come back to this location. Just wish it had a restroom and not so claustrophobic.

I love this place. The green protein is delicious. They have mastered the balance of proportions to make their smoothies and juice taste like perfection. Not only that but staff is always efficient, cool and down to earth. Conveniently location in front of a huge parking lot, finding a free spot is never an issue. For health conscious people this is money well spent. So happy I found them !!

I experienced a similar situation to a previous complaint below. The Acai bowls here are the worst. It’s basically a watered down smoothie with a few slices of bananas on top with little chunks of green apple that were brown in color from sitting out all day. And, on top of that, it came in a really flimsy to-go container. I can’t believe I paid $ 12 for this! What a waste of money and what a waste of time. Why does it take 20 minutes to make one of these things? Sadly, I will not be going back. You guys need to step up your Acai bowl game. Maybe make it with a little more love or just simply add some granola, add more fruit, and lower the price!

I’ve wanted to try this place for a while since I always drive by. When I got there at 8:05, there were two people ahead of me picking up their drinks. I ordered an Acai«Bowl». I was told that I would have to wait 15 – 20 minutes for it to be made. I assumed that it was early in the morning and not all of their ingredients were cut. I waited for a good 15 minutes when I FINALLY got my order. The Acai bowl was in a cup so filled up I couldn’t even close it with a lid. If I knew I was going to get a Acai smoothie with some chunks of apple and coconut on top I certainly wouldn’t have waste $ 12 and 20 minutes. It tasted okay but the service is way too slow and this is not what an Acai bowl is supposed to be. I doubt I will be back!

1 day juice cleanse $ 60 3 day juice cleanse $ 180 This is a bit more pricey than other juicers but well worth it since everything is organic, pressed in house as ordered! They even offer delivery! There are also 3 levels for juicing. The easiest one offers vegetarian meals that are also made locally. Great service. Parking can be a pain but at least it’s free!

Green Juice + Wellness Shot = Perfect combo! After an exhausting hike at Runyon Canyon, I came with a group to get fresh juice. I wanted something really refreshing and energizing so I went with the Green Juice. They have an extensive menu and I was too overwhelmed to read everything, so I went with my usual. They had just bottled some so I was able to grab my juice from the pre-made section without waiting. The juice was really good. It was smooth, thirst quenching, and rejuvenating. CHECK-INOFFER: get a free wellness shot! That was my favorite part! The wellness shot came with a citrus wedge, and the shot was SOGOOD. It had some acid, spice, and tang to it… and the orange wedge provided a nice citrusy sweetness. NICELITTLEKICKTOSTARTTHEDAY.

+ Quaint shop with a walk-up and order window and mini patio seating + Organic smoothies, tonics, elixirs and shots to heal your internal self + Modern POS system with Belly card + Friendly staff + Back wall is perfect for photo ops After I’ve digested a weekends worth of bad food choices and drinks — this is that place I will come to in order to restore some nutrients. I made my way to Open Source because I remembered that they had unique blends of smoothies and juices. They’ve updated their menu with wooden planks, which is a cool feature. My friend and I selected the mini tonics in the refrigerator — I chose a beet based drink that was out of this world spicy because of the ginger and cayenne. Then, we received a Unilocal check-in deal which was a shot of … spicy! Haha. I mean… talk about a way to kick start the immune system. Summer, the cashier, was super awesome and funny. She had a laugh with my friend and I as we took the shot and tonics. It was truly a fun experience to have on a Sunday Funday.

I like Open Source for the convenience of being close to my house and job, but wish they had some more differentiation in smoothie flavors. Most of their flavors taste so similar to me. However my favorites are The Green Alkalizer and The Shakti. Juice-wise they’re definitely doing a better job in the flavor department and I have a hard time picking a favorite. I also highly recommend their wellness tonic as I’m very sure it has prevented a number of colds I’ve felt coming on! All smoothies come in glass jars(I use mine post-drink for snack and baking supply containers!); juices can come in them for $ 1 more. They also have a decent amount of snack options(both fresh made and prepackaged). They’re all raw and vegan. I highly recommend pizza. Parking is abundant with the lot behind the store, but the clientele that hang around are generally of the less-than-desirable quality and can sometimes hassle you. Follow them on Twitter and Instagram for deals, upcoming events, etc!

I like to make my own smoothies, but I’m not too great with the greens. This place is. The Green Protein is my go-to. I almost always get a wellness shot, or the 3 shot combo(minus the one with beets, because I’m allergic). The cashiers are friendly and are generous with samples, which is great considering the price. I don’t like to be super adventurous about $ 10 smoothies. Oh, and – I love that you can get your smoothies in a glass bottle because I definitely reuse them.
