It was my first time trying Yoga and I loved it. The instructor was fantastic, my body and mind felt at peace. Buying the pack.

I was ecstatic to try a Yoga Studio in East LA. I have tried 3 classes and have felt relieved, revived & reenergized after every class. I have a neck and back injury and this has been the best alternative to any other treatment I have had.

I ended up at People’s Yoga after a major car accident that left me unable to run or bike for several months(my usual workouts). I had done yoga before(mostly Bikram) and saw my time at the studio as a temporary solution to my workout restrictions at the time. Its been over a year since my first visit and I still cant get enough of all the wonderful humans I learn from and practice with at this studio. As everyone else has stated, the People’s Yoga is a one-of-a-kind studio. It may be the healers who guide your practice, the diverse faces, the warm smiles, the laughter, and the sweet hearts. There is just no place like this. First class is FREE with an option to enroll in a $ 30 for 30 days of unlimited classes option thereafter. If its your first time, make sure to arrive 10 – 15 minutes before class to complete the waiver and get a spot.

I cannot say enough good things about this studio. I started practicing yoga as a teenager and have had a practice, on and off, for over a decade. I’ve had the privilege to study with a variety of teachers and studios. Out of all the places I’ve been, People’s Yoga is the most community-oriented and welcoming, with warm, skilled and talented teachers. I’ve never had a bad class here. The teachers are amazing and treat their work as a calling, not just a fitness class. This year I’m pregnant with my first child and was taking a vigorous class at People’s Yoga when I started bleeding in the middle of class. I went to the hospital and was told to ease up on my regular exercise, so I started looking for prenatal yoga classes. After taking a few classes at Silverlake Yoga, which is known for its prenatal program taught my yogis/doulas, I felt really awkward because the classes tended to be 100% white. To my delight, I discovered that People’s Yoga has a prenatal/postnatal class, though it’s open to all women regardless of baby status. I felt so relieved to be in that class with other people of color. Also a small but significant thing — I appreciate that Priscila just refers to baby as «Baby» when teaching the class instead of imposing a gender or making statements about«boy babies xyz» and«girl babies xyz.» I’m looking forward to the family yoga class after baby arrives. People’s Yoga is a gem. There are not many places like it that specifically reach out to and serve people of color. The studio offers donation-only classes every day, classes in English and Spanish, and many teachers incorporate brief meditation, aromatherapy, massage and reflection at the beginning/close of each class(e.g. quotes by Audre Lorde). And like I said before, the instruction is top-notch, the teachers are very skilled and good at incorporating props and suggesting modifications for students’ needs. Check out this place if you’re at all curious about yoga, first class is free!

Nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. I’ve been a member for a year, and my review is long overdue. The environment(comfortable, clean, inviting); the teachers(each one has their special gifts — I could go on and on about each one) and the unmatched sense of community the studio is creating — this place is such a gem. Boutique workout studios of any kind are non-existent around these parts. THANKYOU to Lauren and Leah for executing on their vision to bring yoga to East LA.

Immediately inviting to ALL the senses! Soft aroma of lavender, soft music, clean clean clean and welcoming. And a final, firm but touch/massage of the shoulders. The 30 days for $ 30 made it easy to start up, and the schedule makes it impossible to make excuses. Small class size makes it feel intimate, and so far the instructors are great.

This yoga studio is so intimate, inviting and wholesome. It’s definitely a place where you feel at ease from the moment you walk in and immediately focus on your personal practice. No pretentious attitudes, no judging! Your first class is free, so it’s definitely nice that you can try out this studio before investing in it. The instructor I had the joy of sharing my breath with was Brenda. She made it a point to introduce herself to me before class began, making sure I was all set. This small gesture went a long way for me, it being my first time in the studio. The studio is located on the second floor of the building, and there’s a free parking lot.

Welcoming and diverse group of yogi’s. Vibe is genuine and authentic. One of the only affordable yoga studios in LA, without the commercialized yoga energy. This place IS for the people!

Love this place! I had been looking for a yoga studio near my house after moving to east LA. This is the spot! They are so warm & welcoming. The instructors are kind, patient, and knowledgeable. I can’t write enough good things about this place. My only complaint is that I wish there were more classes offered(or class times).

It’s always amazing to find a community of like-minded yogis and yogis to be. My brother, the true aspiring yogi of the family, told me that People’s Yoga had the best intro month package offer: $ 30 for unlimited classes for a whole month! So far I’ve taken all three tiers of classes, from beginner, intermediate, to vigorous. They have all been wonderful… classes ranging from the more relaxing and restorative, to the aerobic, continuous flow. It’s an airy one-room studio, kept clean and smelling like herby essential oils. I’m going to sign up for their monthly unlimited classes. It’s gratifying to have found a down to earth place like this.

My first experience taking a Yoga class. I used to do pilates infused with Yoga but it is def not the same. My Fiancé and I walked in and the mood was already set, relaxing music, dimmed lights. The class we took was Mid-Week Rejuvenation(Gentle) with Leah Gallegos, thought it be a good first class since my fiancé had never done yoga before and I haven’t been exercising like I should. Leah was very relaxing and allowed us to go with our own flow. I felt for the first time in a long time very cognisant of my movements, she started the session with a poem geared to our inner self. It was beautiful. They offer a wide range of classes, the first class was free, but before I left I made sure to sign up, they have a deal right now for newbies. I am excited to go back and I am very excited that it is so close to home. Finally, something for the East Los Angeles, Boyle Heights area.

The best(and only) yoga studio in East LA! They offer such a wide range of classes throughout the day, 7 days a week. The instructors are all wonderful. There is never any pressure to perform beyond your comfort level. There are days that I want to push myself and practice for strength building, and other days I want to practice for relaxation and rejuvenation. Whichever I am feeling, the instructors always make it so that you can get exactly what you’re seeking out of your practice. I go about 4 times a week since the schedule of classes is so broad. There are many memberships and packages to choose from. I myself am a proud Luna member($ 70 a month). Attending at least 4 classes a week comes down to $ 4 a class. Quite the bargain, especially for how great you’ll feel! With a job that requires a lot of driving and sitting, my membership at People’s Yoga has become essential for my overall physical and mental health. If you’re looking to try it out, first class is free and it’s only $ 30 for one month of unlimited classes for new students! No Groupon required ;]

Finally a yoga studio on the east side! I love how the instructors don’t call you out and embarrass you if you are doing a pose wrong.

I LOVELOVELOVETHISPLACE. I never ever thought any physical activity could EVER leave me feeling so good(haha, i know, i know.) I was suffering from the aftermath of a mucho stressful(the kind that makes you sleep with your fists balled) job that I just recently left. I also suffer from a little bit of PTSD(but let’s not get all heavy into my baggage.) ANYWAY… On a whim my battle ax bought me a month of unlimited classes for $ 30.00(it’s their new student special) and me, being a lazy fucker, went begrudgingly in sloppy sweats and a holey t shirt. I thought I would hate it. During the child’s pose with my face on the mat, I felt like I wanted to cry. My mind was cleared without me even realizing what had happened. I’d let baggage go. I was at a peace I havent felt, since, well, EVER. I cannot believe how quick they cleared my YEARS of clogged mental pipes. The classes are taught so peacefully and it’s part yoga, part meditation. The instructors will offer you various bits of meditation to mull over while you are in various poses. It’s no Pop Physique, which looking back, was totally terrifying and I can’t believe I put myself through that. The instructors at People’s Yoga will come by quietly and correct your pose if needed, or will offer alternative poses if you’re just too stiff sometimes. You arent loudly called out in front of the entire class while everyone stares at you, which I really appreciate. There’s no fat shaming. People in all shapes, sizes and ages go to People’s Yoga, and it’s also co-ed incase you were curious. There aren’t any lewd creepy dudes hanging out as there sometimes can be at yoga places, not here though, everyone is just there to ride the mellow. They offer all levels of yoga, from gentle to beginner to vigorous, there is even yoga with chairs for senior citizens or those that need a super gentle stretching. Thank you for restoring me, People’s Yoga. Also my butt thanks you, it’s bouncing back(haha) to it’s former, perky shape. And my husband also thanks you for my peace and for my butt.
