Let‘s just say that you get what you pay for here. Although the manager seemed nice at first, she felt the need to scold me out of the blue. Her words were inappropriate and completely unprofessional. She complained that my husband and I never answer her texts when she holds our packages for us. I felt like I was talking to my own scolding mother. She said, «I have had it with you and your husband! I am fed up.» I told her that I am a full-time student, and that my husband works until midnight every night, all of which are true. That is why I usually get her texts later during the evening when I am home to pick our packages up. She would not listen, and kept complaining when she is the one who offers to hold packages for tenants in the first place. After I realized she would not listen to me, I walked away. There is no need to explain myself. Neither my husband nor I have anything to apologize for. Should I apologize for being a hard-working citizen who is rarely home? Is it my duty to stay home all day so I can respond to each and every one of her texts ASAP? No. Is it in her best inerests to act in a professional manner? Yes. If she wants our business that is, but I guess she does not. I do not feel welcome here.

I lived here for 3.5 years, from 2002 – 2006 on the 3rd floor. It’s a great old building, centrally located and pretty well maintained. I love the high cielings and the huge windows. It’s got crown molding, art deco touches with B&W tiles in kitchen and bath, wood flooring throughout. This is an historical building with lots of character. I used to love to sit on the roof garden and drink wine. You’re in the middle of Korea town, which makes for interesting people watching. Because it’s ½ block off Wilshire and Normandie, it’s loud during the week but very nice and quiet on weekends. Yep, there was a roach problem. You can park in the old Irolo Hotel Basement if you don’t mind the funky exit/entrance. I would live here again if I moved back to LA… Like why would I leave San Diego?

Oh Picadilly. Despite your ridiculous name, I really do miss you. I miss all of Los Angeles, honestly. This apartment complex is moderately priced(for the area), decently decorated, and provides ample room… at least I think so. A lot of the neighbors here seem to keep to themselves, but in a city like this that’s not always a bad thing. Really close to public transport(two bus stops nearby and access to the Wilshire/Normandie subway), right next door to the parking garage($ 95 a month when I left), and also near a bunch of places to eat and my favorite karaōke bar, this place has GREAT location. As far as being in the middle of everything — well, this is about equally far from where all your friends probably live. Hell, it’s close to all sorts of good things… Ralph’s, a library branch, 24 Hour Fitness, Wilshire Galleria, the Wilshire/Western subway stop, the Wilshire/Vermont subway stop, a couple of churches(if that’s your bag), a tofu house, and a slew of bars just to name a couple things that are all within walking distance. I liked the location a lot. I do think there’s a cockroach problem here that springs up every now and then, but they have people come spray for no charge to you — which means the bugs will leave your place and take over the next sucker’s living room. For some reason they only do five apartments at a time when they spray so make sure to sign up fast if you live here and that happens to you. That was probably the only bad part about living here. However, living in a big city you’ve got to take the good with the bad… When(not if) I move back to the Los Angeles area, I’d still consider moving in this place. It will probably be one of the first places i look into, actually. Yes, this place has its faults but it has a lot of good things going for it too. A nice place is hard to find in this city and I’d recommend the Picadilly to almost anyone.
