Pitfire pepperoni pizza was good, add the service by Angie — even better! My experience 5 stars.

I got the Burrata Pie but it wasn’t really anything special – cheese, tomato sauce, greens + lots of oil on top of the greens. Simplicity isn’t bad – the combination is delicious as it is(it’s how it is for authentic Italian pizza) but the problem was that it was really greasy. I had to napkin it. But I had this pizza take-out and not at the restaurant, so maybe my experience wasn’t that great, but it seems like from the reviews the service is genuinely, really nice – so you should still give the place a try if you were thinking about it.

My last visit to Pitfire was a phenomenal one! Special thanks to Teresa for making my visit an epic one that I will definitely be dining at this establishment again. Everything was right on cue. She knew the exact cook times of my meal and know exactly what stage of my meal I was at. My entrée was at my table as soon as I was done with my appetizer. Great customer service and remarkable on recommending certain dishes. And last but not least, the check was on the table at the right time. She is a very courteous and jovial young lady. I’m definitely returning to this Pitfire again.

I work just down the street from this location and have been coming here for years. The food is good and I love that you can get items that are off menu. The best thing about this place though is the staff. They have always been unfailingly friendly to me when I have come in for lunch. One of my favorites is Megan D. She always treats me as if we were long time friends. There are a number of people there that make Pitfire worth my lunch money.

Angie is so sweet. She made my son and I feel so important and gave us a cookie after our meal. She was very enthusiastic and willing to accommodate us by splitting the pizza according to the topping we wanted. This restaurant is fortunate to have Angie’s skills. She should be the highest on the food chain of managers because she brings a lot of positive energy to the table!

We were served by an angel. Angie is just a shining light for the world! So I’ve been on ultralight beams for the past month because I have been getting ready to graduate USC with an MFA. I had the hardest time trying to decide where to take the most diverse tongues and the toughest critic(my mom) after an amazing day. This is risky, I have Nigerian-Midwest parents that love(Chinese and old country) buffets and African staples like plantain, rice and stew. I have friends from Seattle to Savannah, Charlotte, DC and ATL, football players and frat brothers that I met at Georgia Tech who love southern cooking. I chose Pitfire because I knew they wouldn’t let down. This location donated food to the first film I produced at USC and it left such a warm feeling in my heart I had to return. Bam! I made the reservation with ease, reserved the secret upstairs lair for parties and such. Had room for like 40. When we roll thru we meet Angie, I was stressing previously but after hearing her offer recommendations, take the first order and crack a smile I was soothed by the fire… The Pitfire! As people filed in the apps came out, cauliflower, meat balls, flat bread. Bam, bam, bam! Salads start raining from the ceiling. Beer and lemonade floats in like Bey underwater. It’s getting lit! But the mood wasn’t perfect yet… I asked Angie, «is there any way we can get some music up here to set the atmosphere?» She said, «I’ll work on that, what would you like?» I said, «something vibey, you know, Drake — Trap-Soul — Chill.» She was like… «I got you!» Within moments a myriad of pizza is sliding across the table, Big Sur, Chicken, Meat! Future starts whispering in my ear… The music is right on point with my specifically vague request. We continue through the night having a great time. My mom and her friends are surprisingly happy! My friends are downing beer and I have pizza sauce in my beard. I look at Angie taking another order from my uncle and I just smile! It was the perfect energy, great timing, awesome location, great service on the best day! It was magical to say the least!

Stumbled upon this place downtown LA. Ordered the field mushroom pizza and linguini bolognese and really liked both dishes! I wasn’t expecting much because me and my friend were just really hungry and desperately looking for something to eat and we were pleasantly surprised! Service was really friendly too :)

This place is right next to my work so whenever I’m in the mood for pizza or pasta I come here. Their pizzas are perfect size n very good. As for pastas. I’ve had their spaghetti w chicken meatballs. Which is very good. The only down side is the price. For what u get u should be paying about $ 2 – 3 less. But on a pinch. This place is good. They have great choices in beers n the atmosphere is great. Great place to people watch since there is alot of foot traffic. Also want to mention that the female employee that takes the phone orders is awesome. So friendly n knows what she’s doing. Great personality!

Overpriced and average succinctly sums up my feelings toward Pitfire Pizza. The toppings are plenty here, as are the options. The staff is friendly. There are plenty of tables and a long bar counter to sit at. You can also grab a beer with your pizza. Cool! Looking good so far. It has to be pretty hard to screw up pizza right? I guess not. I ordered the sausage party: fennel sausage, bacon, salami, prosciutto tomato sauce, and mozzarella. On paper, it sounded fantastic. Somehow it ended up being one of the blandest pizzas I’ve tasted, and the kitchen took well over 20 minutes to bring it out. The crust was also largely burnt, although I personally enjoyed it being a little ashy. There are a lot of better pizza options in DTLA, and at better prices too.

Great food, great staff, affordable prices, great location. This is true gem in DTLA. I waked in because the Indian cuisine place next door was packed. I didn’t really care where I ate I was simply hungry. To my surprise there was ample seating for the group of people I was with and anytime I’m greed upon entering any restaurant or business I take notice. I love pizza and I’m a picky pizza eater because let’s face it not everyone can make pizza a great way. I had many questions about their pizza process and the pastas they offer. The woman at the register walked me through all of my questions and didn’t make me feel like I needed to rush. I ordered and set down. Within 10 minutes my food was there great. Add in the affordable prices here which makes this a true gem. I definitely plan to visit this place more frequently.

You order at the counter, very friendly service, got my number and found a seat. I was with two other friends and for pizza we got our food really fast. I had pesto chicken pizza and was very tasty. Pesto was bright green lite and subtle sweet, but that dough was the best! I couldn’t wait to get to the crust, seriously. For $ 12+tip i was full and happy.

Ordered delivery. Pizza took forever when they were delivering around the corner and the pizza was cold by the time it arrived! Domino’s may have been a better choice. At least you’ll get your pizza while it’s still hot! Never ordering from here again!

Sorely disappointed when I ordered the Pitfire Chicken Salad. This was 11 $ not including tax. Barely any chicken, some rotten basil was thrown in there and not one speck of hazelnut. There were lots of croutons. I guess this is what you get when you come during the lunch rush and you get the order to go. I haven’t tried the pizza, but this is definitely not the place to come if you are looking for a good salad.

First a disclaimer: Being a(recent) transplant from Chicago, my view of the pizza scene here in LA is a little jaded. ;) That said, I appreciate what Pitfire brings to the table(hehehe). Staff here have been nothing but friendly and accommodating. My partner and I have gotten both a variety of pizzas as well as pastas and salads and most recently got to give the soup(Tuscan Bean) a try and none have failed to delight. This feels like such a healthy(healthier?) pizza/pasta/quick grab option that doesn’t leave you feeling like you need to collapse on the couch in a food-induced coma. The ingredients have always been fresh, and the combinations delicious. Great, if somewhat small, beer and wine selection if that is your thing. Another perk is that there is outdoor seating(admittedly, somewhat limited) and a dog park across the street, so it’s nice to know we can walk here with our dog, give him some play time and then pop over for lunch or dinner, weather permitting. Finally, we decided to order directly from Pitfire for delivery this past week. Their online ordering system is flawless and their delivery time seemed perfectly appropriate – but they killed it and had dinner at our door a good 20 minutes earlier than expected. Which our hungry bellies appreciated.

My boyfriend and I have been here a couple times but fell in love with it again after coming a few weeks ago after a long hiatus. We shared a pizza and a pasta: the Pesto Chicken Pizza(apparently you can get this folded or unfolded. IDK why. We just got unfolded.) and the Chicken & Mushroom Cavatappi. The pizza came with fire-roasted chicken, 4 types of cheese, pesto, basil, and red onion. The pasta came with forest mushrooms, fire-roasted chicken, arugula, garlic cream and parmesan. Both items were delicious– all the flavors you expected were there and nothing was too salty/greasy/heavy. It was also the perfect amount of food– we both left satisfied with full bellies. This is the only location I’ve been to, but I love how it is a loft style and that they reserve the upstairs for private parties. Gotta love DTLA.

I got the burrata pizza and substituted the tomato sauce for some olive oil. I really wanted Alfredo sauce but they didn’t have that but the olive oil was tasty. It comes with arugula on top so I scraped some of it off because they put a lot and ate it like a lil side salad. The dough is perfect and right in the middle, not too thin or thick. The burrata cheese with caramelized onions and pesto is something I hadn’t had before but so glad I got it because it’s so good. I ate the entire pizza in one sitting. Damn it!.. but it was that good. Large portions for a fair price. I’m definitely going to keep coming back for lunch. I also loved that this DTLA location had artwork on the walls because I appreciate art and it was nice to look at while I ate.

My friend invited me to this Pitfire Artisan Pizza place in Downtown Los Angeles. There are three other locations in the Southern California area, so if this isn’t convenient for you to go to, there are others closer by. Great timing too, because I was craving pizza all day! Parking is a bit atrocious in this area since most of the street parking and the parking lots are either too expensive or all taken. It doesn’t make sense paying $ 9 for parking to eat a $ 9 pizza, but this is what you deal with driving around this area. When we got here, the line was literally out the door. But at least the line moved relatively quickly and the wait gave us a chance to decide on what I wanted to order. I opted for the mushroom pizza(assorted mushrooms, balsamic roasted onions, four cheeses, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme) with the anti-pasta salad(arugula, red onion, salame, Asiago cheese, tomatoes, etc.) Service was friendly and efficient, just like you would find at any quick service pizza establishment. All in all, Pitfire Artisan Pizza was a great place to grab affordable and delicious food. They specialize in pizzas, pastas, paninis and salads, with fresh, interesting ingredients. They also have a special seasonal menu that focuses on farmers’ market ingredients that you can check out on their official website.

Service was excellent. Quality of my shrimp pizza was sub par. Maybe it was the crust that was meh. Maybe it was the fact that you really only get a few shrimp that are on the smaller size. Most of the pizza was the cheese itself. Salad was a bit underwhelming my friends said. But seating and vibe downstairs seems pretty chill. Upstairs was a bit stuffy where we were sitting. Happy hour specials with plenty of craft brews to choose from might be what most in the area have fun taking advantage of. I didn’t during my recent visit.

It was my first time here and we tried the green, eggs, and ham prosciutto pizza! It was pretty tasty and the eggs come over easy. It broke halfway through my slice and I was able to use the yoke as dipping sauce for the pizza. The pizza was the perfect crisp and not too thick. They also have a really good chocolate chip cookie. One of the best that I’ve tasted and it comes warm. Perfect for dessert after your pizza! Staff were friendly And helpful. I also noticed they have a good selection of wines and beers. Wasn’t able to try it but maybe I will if I ever get a chance to go back here. Only thing with this place(like all the other places in LA) is that it’s difficult to find parking. There was a $ 10 parking right behind it which we only paid for cause we had to go to the VIBIANA across the street.

Pizzzzzzzzzzzza! My friend and I were going to an event across the street and were starving! Luckily we saw their pizza sign and rushed in. They’ve got the stander pizza, pasta, and salads that all sounded pretty good, but when I’m hungry all I want is pizza! It’s a walk up to the counter and order, then they bring it to you kinda joint. I got one of their custom pizzas, but each thing you add on is another extra charge, so I just got a regular pizza with pesto because I am a pesto fiend! The guy at the register was nice and patient, as I was a bit delirious from hunger at this point, as was the server who brought out our pizza. I just asked for water(tough times!) and thought it was kinda weird they had the server just bring it out to me because I saw the soft drink dispenser facing the chairs, but whatever! I inhaled my pizza! The individual size was more than enough, were I not starving I probably wouldn’t have needed even all that. And boy was it good! Just pesto was enough! I wasn’t a fan of the prices, for my individual custom pizza with the one add on was $ 11, but it’s not your Pizza Hut pizza. It’s tasty, just maybe wait for it to cool a bit before shoving it down your throat(because I didn’t!).

Pitfire Pizza is a great option for my friends, co-workers, or vendors who aren’t adventurous eaters. They always have something for everyone, even kids. If I want something lighter, I’ll order a salad. A great alternative is there paninis, which come with a half salad. My go-to is the Chicken Panini or the Calzone-like folded garlic chicken; both come with a salad. For the hungrier A great selection of pizzas, pastas, paninis, salads and some seasonal items as well. Also, they serve craft beer and wine. It does get kinda crowded between 12:00PM and 1:00PM, but they do a pretty good job with managing the stampede. I do love this place for large parties, I’ve booked the upstairs area which held about 60 – 70 people. Just pre-ordered the food with the manager, told them when we were arriving, and the food just started to come out! No waiting for food! PARKING: Only available on Main St. at the lot.

Don’t know why a lot of people complain about their crust but I think it’s great! It’s tasty. The one in DTLA is great. Good beers and friendly service. We ordered the field mushroom but added pepperoni. Fantastic pizza!!! We also ordered a hand chopped salad. Everything was delicious. I will be coming back soon!

All of the best toppings, cheeses and sauces cannot save your pizza if you can’t get the crust right. We ordered at least a dozen pizzas from here after a shoot nearby, and I don’t think a single one had a firm, crispy crust. This was the sort of crust that’s acceptably crunchy nearest to the edges, but as you get closer to the middle it becomes a soft, soggy mess. Not my kind of slice. Great staff here, though.

+ Lots of seating space + Lots to choose and order + Friendly staff — A bit pricey I work very close to here and came to this spot for lunch. I had the spaghetti and meatballs, which was ordered to go and given to me in a box lol. My first time eating spaghetti out of a box, it was neat. I’ve had pizza from here as well, and really, I haven’t been done wrong. Food tastes good here, a bit pricey for the portion, but it’s near downtown LA, so it’s expected. If you want to sit inside, there’s lots of seats to choose from. You won’t be having a hard time finding one. Staff is also very friendly and welcoming. There’s not much else to say about this place except that it’s just a good experience all around. There MIGHT be a slight wait at times, but it’s nothing crazy.

+ Large selection of entrees + Great for a quick lunch + Supports local businesses(10% off if you work nearby) + Friendly staff -/+ Some orders take quite a long time if you take it to go. I work very close by to this restaurant and it is a great place to go for lunch if you’re in the mood for gourmet pizza(or any of the other choices they have). It is a tiny bit expensive for what you get, but I attribute it to being in a somewhat downtown hotspot near many office buildings.

I came to Pitfire for dinner on a Saturday, the 4th time eating pizza that week! Too much pizza never killed anybody… right? O. O When you enter the restaurant, you place your order at the register, they give you a number, you choose a seat and then they bring your food to you. It wasn’t very busy and there were several families enjoying their dinner. The service was pretty good too. The servers were attentive as possible. Onto the good stuff… Ordered: — Sausage party pizza. $ 12.50 (House-made fennel sausage /tomato sauce /assorted Zoe’s salumi /bacon /fresh mozzarella /saba) – The crust was chewy and tasted good! The pizza was made with fresh ingredients. The meats were flavorful, not overly salty. I really liked the sausage! Get this pizza if you like meat! — Chicken & mushroom cavatappi. $ 11.50 (Forest mushroom /grilled chicken /wild arugula /garlic cream /parmesan) – This pasta is absolutely A-FREAKIN’-MAZING! The combination of mushroom & chicken is just classic. The cavatappi(macaroni formed in a helical tube) is a nice variation from other shapes. It was cooked al dente… perfectly. The sauce was creamy, but not so heavy that you felt your arteries clogging. Just garlicky deliciousness! Honestly, I prefer this pasta over their pizza. I’d come back just for this!

I have been to other Pitfire Artisan Pizza locations(Manhattan Beach, North Hollywood, and Pasadena) and I was never really impressed with their pizzas or salads. I was craving pasta and salad one night and decided to order takeout from this Downtown location. We ordered the chicken and mushroom cavatappi, spaghetti and meatballs and a large house salad. The chicken and mushroom cavatappi($ 11.50) was so delicious. I inhaled this spiral pasta dish! It was creamy but not too heavy, savory, and garlicky with a little peppery bite from the wilted arugula. The chicken is breast and a little dry but the flavors are so good, I didn’t care. The spaghetti was good but the meatballs are so strange($ 10.50). They lack that meaty texture. It was like eating mush. I will not be ordering this again. The house salad($ 6) was simple: lettuce, asiago cheese shavings and croutons. The vinaigrette was pretty solid. I will be back now that I know what to order! Cavatappi all the way. I wasn’t sure where to park. The restaurant is located on a dark stretch of 2nd Street where there are other«happening» establishments that I haven’t tried. I found a 15-minute meter spot out front which was just enough time to run in to grab my food.
