Im going to give this place full East Coast approval. This place would survive on the East Coast pizza scene. Also as a huge fan of the Clash and punk rock in general rock in general growing up I love the fact that the pizza box is a parody of a Clash cover. LA’s NY pizza game has come a long way since I have moved here and this place is the proof. They have another location in Long Beach which I just saw. I like it for sure, big fan of punk rock, big fan of Pizzanista! Highly Recommended! Check them out.

Sooo good! Kinda sad they took out the Coolhaus and replaced it with booze… but whatever. Now, only if they could delivery a little farther… driving downtown with the parking and the tourist is kind of a b@$#h sometimes. But the pizza’s hella good.

So I was craving pizza and due to my recent much needed lifestyle change I had to cut out my dairy, so thank you pizzanisata for having a vegan vegi pizza. This was my very first experience having vegan pizza and I must say it was very delicious! The set up is small but the space was well used and I thoughly enjoyed the islander beats in the background, customer service was awesome as well. They ran out of the vegan vegi pizza and the owner was kind enough to throw in an extra slice for waiting. I’m very satisfied with my experience and definitely will be back when I have my pizza craving!

I ordered pizza for delivery at 10:18PM. 12:30 am and pizza never arrived and I see the charge is pending on my account. So now hungry with nothing to show for it. I look forward to making sure the charges are refunded tomorrow.

The people do not lie when they say the blonde with glasses is in dire need of a mood change. Showed up, average pizza, but not enough of it available. The blonde was nice to everyone but treated me and my partner like shit. Average pizza 3* Customer service 1* Price 3* Final grade. 2* —- visit #2 Much better this time. Got what we wanted without problems.

Bomb pizza! Bomb vegan options! The Mac & Chz pizza is BOMB. Only complaint would be how small it is. Customer service could be a tad better too but overall love coming here!

El Savage here with another review. Walking into this place I felt like I was in Brooklyn!(Never been but seen enough damn movies to assume I know what it looks like) They have a wide selection of pizza, huge slices for only about $ 3. It was perfection! The crust had a nice crunch to it great flavors. Maybe it was so good because I was drunk after being at Angel City Brewery earlier? Well I know good pizza when I taste it. Area is kinda sketchy, a lot of hobos near by. Give the hobo a slice or two and become buddies.

Hipster vegan pizza? I literally like only one of those words. However, before I turned it down my buddy vouched for it so I said, okay, then sucked down two tacos at the taco stand before hand just in case. However, after walking in I saw that they had a slice called ‘Meat Jesus’ and after seeing that it wasn’t ironic name and had sausage and pepperoni in it. Unfortunately, as soon as we put in the order, they ran out of Meat Jesus. So, they let us have a slice of Veggie and the Soppresata and mushroom. The veggie pretty good, with a bunch of different veggies that made me almost forget meat, almost. The Soppresata and mushroom though was awesome, the soppresata was slightly spicy balanced out by some pretty juicy mushrooms. Happily surprised with the slices here.

By the slice and awesome. I had the Meat Jesus, a delectable slice with pepperoni and sausage. The slices are huge and have so much flavor. The place smacked of hipster, but the food was great. The cashier didn’t smile, like she thought she was the singer of Florence and the Machine, but the other staff was pretty friendly. Best thing is the food. They accept card, which is a must, and they serve some beers and lots of hipster drinks. I’ll definitely come back for more of the Meat Jesus, and to try the Seitan Meat Jesus.

Came in for a slice, no other customers. Cold welcoming. The cashier was very rude and short. Almost rushing me to order with an attitude. The blonde with glasses. Maybe she needed a fix. Idk. Didn’t appreciate the tone. Not quite sure how you slam a credit card down but she managed. It was weird how they were bombarded by customers a few minutes later and somehow she found it within herself to be patient and helpful. The pizza was mediocre but I’ll charge that to being the last pieces of the night. Not sure why, with 30 minutes till closing and a good amount of customers they don’t have enough food available. They don’t seem willing to make more. Seems like a bad business model. Highlight was the mango soda which a was a treat. Overall bad service and overpriced. Way too many places to choose from to suck in the food industry. Town Biznezz

Soooooo GOOD! If I need to grab quick bite that will satisfy my every need, I go here. There’s so many different pizza variations and it’s also vegan friendly. Oooh, and pretty cheap! And the salads ain’t bad either. Tip: grab a pizza and hit up Tony’s next door for a brew. Also, a friend of mine claims that she did carryout and the pizza was no good the next day when she wamted leftovers. I know they sell day-old pizza in their fridge for cheap, but I don’t know if they’re good or not.

To my disappointment Pizzanista just can’t get there delivery service right. Tried twice for lunch delivery, something was always wrong. Pizza delivers cold, they don’t arrive on time, they forget the order, they forget the marinara sauce, pizza comes on the wrong day, I can go on… They def. need to work on their communication skills. Manager was nice enough to give us a free order of pizza for delivery, but guess WHAT! It came on the wrong day… hahahha omg so speechless. I just can’t… With that said. Margherita pizza — A-ok. Not my type of pizza, I would like to have more sauce on it. Felt like it was just cheese and bread.(delivery came cold. pizza cold. that sucked.) At least the dough came thin and crispy. Pepperoni pizza — Like any other pepperoni pizza. Vegan pizza — I’m not vegan, but my friend said his pizza was delicious. Garlic knots — Who doesn’t love garlic knots? This was good. Comes with marinara sauce! Not much to say about this place, but if you’re vegan this is your pizza spot!

For this price, I would suggest going to Purgatory Pizza instead. We ordered a pizza with soppresatta and arugula. It was good, but not amazing. And it was *really* annoying that the guy who prepared our pizza dumped what must have been an entire 1 pound bag of arugula on top of the pizza. It was literally stacked an inch high– I wish I had taken a picture. It was so ridiculous, that even though we ate a substantial amount given that it was just a pizza topping, when the waitress came by to clear our pizza pan she saw the pile of arugula and asked if we hadn’t liked the arugula. I explained that we ate quite a bit of it, but that there was still that much left over. Her response? «Yeah, they don’t f around.» Also, if you are into ginger beer, I wouldn’t recommend the Maine brand that they carry. It’s plenty spicy, but way too sweet. They should switch to Reed’s.

Did not live up to the hype. This place was recommended to me on Unilocal’s newsletter and then I went there and it’s just some random place with dirty hipsters working there with mediocre pizza. And they were loud AF while I was there so I literally had to stop every 2 seconds in my conversation because I could not hear my friend talk. And… when I asked the lady working there what a certain ingredient was on a pizza she just said, «I don’t know.» Really? So… I won’t be back. Oh yah I forgot to mention the salad was incredibly bland with no dressing and unripe avocados and tomatoes. That’s all.

The first time I ordered from pizzanista, I ordered a vegan pizza. They delivered a dairy cheese pizza. It took them so long to deliver the order that by the time it arrived and I realized it was not the right order, it was too late in the evening to wait for another pizza to be made and delivered.(I live in their neighborhood) They offered no recompense for this error. No promise of comped pizza or even perhaps an apology. Tonight I ordered various single slices of pizza. 45 minutes later they called to tell me my orders were impossible. I complained and cancelled my order. No apology. Really a shame given the ownership and also reputation. I will never order from them again

I have never been to New York, but I would hope their pizza is as good(if not better) than Pizzanista! I ordered the veggie pizza and it was absolutely perfect! The dough was thin and perfectly crisp. And the cheese didn’t overwhelm the veggies. It was a bit oily, but if you really are watching that waistline, you shouldn’t be eating pizza in the first place. Came in on a Friday night and the line was out the door. Since we were just ordering a slice of pizza, we thought that we would be in and out within 30 minutes, but it took about an hour! I blame this on being understaffed and undersized.

Finally tried Pizzanista and it’s not bad. Actually we came here for the Mac and Cheese Pizza but to our disappointment they only serve it on Sundays so I guess we have to come again. But their daily special is not bad as well and it’s always something new.

The pizza gets extra points for being next to Tony’s which has an awesome back yard. What goes better with pizza than darts, ping pong and foosball? It was a night of ridiculous names. I got a slice of Vegan Seitan Meats Jesus with vegan cheese and mock pepperoni, sausage and bacon. I loved it! Then an off work bartender at Tony’s introduced us to a drink called Two Fingers In Cider, kinda like a boilermaker cuz it’s whiskey, kinda like a snakebite cuz it’s cider, like a boss cuz it gets you drunk. It was a little crowded in Pizzanista! But I was able to sit at the counter in the window. It felt very NY there, but once you’re on the sidewalk, you know you’re in LA. I see a lot of reviews from other transplants who miss the pizza and bagels. I hear the secret is the water, and«authentic» places, whatever that means, import NY tap water. That could be an urban legend.
