Perfect end to an Executive Physical! Pleasant and courteous service in a clean and tidy environment. A fresh carnation on the table is a nice touch and the food gets the job done.

First impression I got when entering this restaurant is that it looks very clean and bright. Lots of seating options available. Restaurant was very busy. I assume it was because it was lunch time at the hospital and a lot of the guests were hospital employees. This in turn made the service a little slow. Ordered the turkey sandwich. It came with fries. The sandwich itself was really good. Very flavorful. The waitress recommended it and I thought it was fabulous. Also ordered a veggie panini. Very good. I asked for it without eggplant but they still made it with the eggplant. It feta cheese in it too which was a game changer. Really good. Overall, good experience with the bumps that occurred but not too bad at all. Will have to try going again when it isn’t so busy but it’s a big hospital so that might be hard.

They have my favorite kale and quinoa salad! With chicken and avocado! The service can be a little slow but everyone is nice and the portions are very large

We came around 4:30 p.m. not very crowded at all. But the service with a smile rather slow considering that it was very few people in the restaurant itself. But I will admit that the food was pretty good.

Open only during m-f. Got the grass fed beef with side salad. Both times over cooked but still good. Get an extra side of ketchup because it’s a little dry. Also got chicken pesto fettuccine. Was a lil watery but lots of zucchini and spinach. chicken was full and juicy. I could only finish half. Also those large cookies at the counter are delicious. Bummed they close at 7pm.

The Plaza Café is a nice little café inside Ceda-Sinai. The décor is nice and the food is just alright. Although the matza-ball soup is great. The service however, is SO slow. My family and I were sitting in there waiting for the waitress to take our order for like 15 mins. Then she came and took someone’s order who came after us. Then when it was time to pay she disappeared for like 20 mins. We had to go up to the to-go cashier to pay. This place can be a really nice place to go with some organization.

One if the great things about the Larder is that you can seat in the side walk and it’s clean and not over crowded… The service is very efficient and friendly… My favorite is having breakfast here especially with some friends, we can have a conversation and also great food … Ok here I go ;-) please try their bread it’s amazing … It’s feels almost as if I’m on vacation ;-))

Food here is great for a hospital but okay for a restaurant. They make a mean ham and Swiss panini, and their salads are sky high! The blackened salmon filet is generous. They give you a thick slab of salmon, lightened seasoned and topped with sautéed asparagus and rice. The asparagus is crunchy and green – exactly how it should be! No greenstick or slimy effect whatsoever. Unlimited drink refills are appreciated! Especially if you’re actually taking a break from work and are extremely thirsty. Lemonade with lemon is my go-to!

Me and my friend was there at Cedars Sinai for a scheduled meeting, had some time before that and decided to check out the Plaza café to have a late lunch. Service was okay, not great. Could have used some kind of hostess to help seat people instead of self seating. Took a couple of minutes before someone realized that we were customers. The food was not cheap like the cafeteria down stairs, a little pricey. the order took a little longer than expected, but it was definitely good(considering this is a hospital and the alternative is the cafeteria downstairs). Perhaps a little more attention to faster service and coordination with the kitchen and the front of the house might improve its standing.

My only issue with this place has been the speed, or lack-therof. I’ve been back twice and have to say the food is great, the service is nice, and the speed of the service is fantastic. No more long waits for orders or checks.

I had breakfast here and it was diner quality, with slightly higher prices. Service was slow because there was only one server. My meal: ~$ 7 not including tax and tip two eggs scrambled(rubbery) with two slices of bacon, two slices of toast and fruit salad.

The food is not bad, but the wait is seriously messed up. Don’t understand why! is there not enough servers? Why does it take more than 20 minutes to get food?

foods ok but it’s the slowest service in LA. Especially a problem since its in the hospital where time is crucial.

This is the Plaza Café inside Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. During my last visit to the hospital, the Plaza Café was recommended to me by the nursing staff as a better choice to the cafeteria. PROS: Menu selection is very good offering a wide variety of fare offering table service. They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner offering soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers, dinner entrees, as well as daily specials. Delicious tasting food(once it was finally delivered). CONS: Slow service, a noticeable lack of servers, bussers, and absolutely NOVISIBLEMANAGERPRESENCE in the dining room to ensure a good customer dining experience. As we entered the Café on a Friday at 1:30pm, we sat ourselves as the sign suggested. Though there were many tables available, finding a clean table was nearly impossible. Once seated, one of the bussers brought us menus but catching the attention of a server proved difficult as it was evident there was a lack of staffing during the lunch hour. It appeared each server had to cover approximately ten tables each. I witnessed one couple leave because they couldn’t catch the server’s attention and another couple cancel their food order because it was taking too long and they had to get back to a family member and patient. It is very clear this location is POORLYMANAGED and is in need of a floor manager, a host/hostess, additional [trained] servers and faster bussers. I don’t think I will return during my next visit to Cedars-Sinai and will take my chances with the cafeteria.

People are too harsh. Of course this is no fine dining establishment by any means, but what do you expect from a HOSPITALCAFE? Compared to the yucky cafeteria downstairs(that I have the misfortune of having to eat at nearly every day…) and most other hospital food I’ve had in my career, this place probably deserves 6 out of 5 stars. I actually really enjoy the matzah ball soup. My go to entrée is the pear and walnut salad(but need to get the dressing on the side or they do over dress it). All my colleagues have enjoyed nearly everything else they’ve ordered on this menu. Yes service is slow. If you’re really in a hurry, can always call in for pick up before you head over. The only complaint I have is the recent menu changes. They no longer offer soup and half salad or half sandwich combos which used to be fantastic… Please bring it back Plaza Café!

I feel that I need to update my review for this place, because my last experience was abhorrent. The only thing that has remained consistent is the slow, lackluster service. I really don’t understand why this restaurant insists on putting out the«seat yourself» signs and then allows you to sit in a packed restaurant, guaranteeing that you’ll be overlooked for as long as you can manage. I sat down in the middle of the restaurant, alone, and it took me nearly ten minutes to flag someone down just to get a menu. Really? The worst part was the server was rude and just shoved the menu in front of me and didn’t even ask if I wanted a water and neglected to notice that my table didn’t even have silverware on it. Another ten minutes went by before I could, yet again, struggle to gain the attention of someone working there. Other tables that had menus were experiencing similar frustration, as I noticed other patrons frantically waving and some even calling«Yoo-hooooo!» out to employees. Impressive. I ordered the chicken panini which was served with goat cheese and tomatoes. Instead of a salad I ordered the side of the matzoh ball soup. 1) The sandwich was disgusting. The chicken wasn’t cooked on one side(yes I sent it back) and it was covered with so much goat cheese I couldn’t taste anything else. I love goat cheese and all but seriously? That is not the only flavor I want coming through my meal. There was so much it reminded me of a slab of mozarella just sitting on top of this huge chicken breast 2) The matzoh ball soup had tasteless broth and the tiny matzoh ball in the soup was rock hard 3) I paid $ 12 for this meal and the Starbucks pre-packaged sandwiches would blow this meal out of the water This is the last time I’ll be spending money at this place.

Great spot when visiting Cedars Sinai! It’s unbelievable that there is such good food in a hospital? Came here to visit a sick relative and ordered the chicken cobb salad. I have to say that it was one of the best cobb salads I ever had. Lots of fresh greens, avocado, lean grilled chicken, nuts, blue cheese and homemade ranch! I forced myself to stop eating because it was so big. My wife ordered the burger with grilled onions and it was off the charts. That same burger sells at Jerry’s Deli for $ 15. It was $ 8.95. Pretty good deal!

I’ve spent a lot of time in a lot of hospitals over the years — both with sick family members and treating sick patients… none of them aside from The Cleveland Clinic have a Café on par with Cedars and in reality, Cedars is better. Great view, great lighting, comfortable tables, and a large-pleasant space for people trying to take their mind off what is going on in the hospital around them… or others simply trying to get some decent food while at an appointment. While other hospitals seem to offer anything but healthful options(McDonalds at Cleveland Clinic, Wendy’s and Donatos at OSU, and a veritable buffet of fried goods at Pittsburgh and Toledo) I was pleased to see fresh, organic, and healthful items at Cedars in addition to less health-friendly options. I personally opted for an organic turkey sandwich with sundried tomatoes and brie plus cranberry chutney on whole wheat ciabatta and found the sandwhich to be on par with any deli sandwhich I’ve had in the past many years. Desserts in the case also looked fresh and many featured fruits and berries with minimal additions. Prices were good for a cafeteria and Starbucks coffee was offered(with free refills!) My only complaint and thus one star off would be for the somewhat average service which seems to take forever to do simple tasks like collect dirty plates and refill drinks. That said, this is a café in a hospital — the simple fact that it has waiters is impressive.
