Nice little spot to get some fast Japanese food. Service is quick, prices are right and the food is good. I usually get the combo rolls with their asian salad. Very filling, and their food is fresh.

San Sai is a good Japanese fast food chain. The various salad side dishes, especially the cabbage one, are very good and you can grab a quick meal that is at least a bit healthier than the average fast food fare. They have the usual teriyaki beef and chicken options which are always good as well as sushi rolls etc.

Great place you would either year again and again and again! Everything here is great and tastes delicious. We used to just come here and get the sushi but now I eat most of what they have. I would recommend it to everyone who likes fusion Japanese food.

I Love San Sai at other locations, but the service was terrible at this location. The cashier was really rude and was looking out into space half the time we were ordering. While we were waiting for our food, the chef was talking on a cellphone and was more involved with the conversation he was having than preparing our order, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. After 25 minutes of waiting, we finally received our sushi which was warm and falling apart. I am certainly not coming back.

Great salads and an excellent place to grab some lunch. The food was good and fresh. It’s not your authentic Japanese teriyaki but it’s clean, light and fresh. I love their choice of salads. They have about 4 fresh salads. The tomato salad was great you should give that a shot. I ordered the white meat chicken teriyaki plate and it comes with two salads. very generous potions. Great bang for your buck. The food was all around very good. I’ll definitely come back here.

I have been coming here for awhile now(shame on me for taking this long to review this place)!!! Sabiola & the owner are always welcoming! The food is yummy. I usually get the Tempura/California Roll plate. The portions are perfect! The price is not bad either. As you know I normally do take-out…they are always good in getting my order correct. Gotta check it out. This is like a casual dining place, so you can relax & enjoy. Plenty of parking too.

I was surprised here last week when my usual plate of Tempura went from $ 7.99 to… get this…$ 10.99. WOW. Are you kidding me? That’s about a 40% increase, for exact SAME plate. Ya get NOTHING more… for a FORTY percent increase in price. Hey for THAT $$$ I can eat a RIBEYE someplace else. I’m sorry, but that’s just TOOMUCH for this place, and that plate. I would hope the owner would have better judgement than that, because now, this place is unaffordable for me and many many others. She shot HERSELFINTHEFOOT here. And when the liberals in LA get the minimum wage doubled this summer, this place, like hundreds of others will HAVE to charge $ 25.99 for that $ 7.99 Tempura. Who’s gonna pay that? This place will close, like so many others. Remember what I said here. You wanna DOUBLE minimum wage? Watch what happens. Every hamburger, even lowly Mickey D’s will be $ 16.00 What OTHER outcome could there possibly be? I don’t want to patronize any restaurant where the owner and/or management shows such bad judgement. If this owner is raising prices 40% now…just imagine what he/she will do when the wage thing takes effect. I cannot sugar-coat this situation. This was a DUMB business move, period. I won’t eat here again, so she just lost a real regular customer. I predict that this place won’t be there by this time next year.

Wow, What a I entered I was impressed by the interior of this location. Right away I was greeted by an employee by the name of Jazmin What a personality. She was very informative. She could tell it was my first time here. She took the time to tell me the many choices I had. This is I of the areas of service. Inform your guests. Knowledge is priceless, and yet goes a long way. I would say in or about 5 minutes my meal was ready. They call you by the number on your my liking, the presentation of their dishes, again I was surprised. very appealing.A plus. They also have a beverage bar for your self-serve needs and all the different sauces to put on your dishes. There’s 1 more offer, that is if you attend the movies here at the Pacific Theater’s here, they will offer 10 percent off your bill. Smart move by the owner to do this. Great visit. . 2015 Unilocal Challenge.044/100

First time I went to Sansai was in Tarzana. The staff was very nice but the place looked outdated and the food was so so. This time I took my girls to the one in Chatsworth. What a difference! Staff is just ok but the place is newer and seems way cleaner. My girls ordered the Salmon Teriyaki and avocado rolls. I had the chicken breast with salads and California roll. We all liked the food we ordered. There were some people sitting on the next table and they started to play with the girls. We really enjoyed going there.

This place is da bomb. Healthy option fast casual with an Asian twist. Very clean and accommodating. I usually order a chicken or fish plate and side salad. They have several salads to choose from as well as sushi, udon, and tempura. Patio seat in is also pleasant. One of the few restaurants I can enjoy without feeling guilty about later.

I decided to take a break from my steady cheeseburger and onion ring diet and eat something a little more healthy. The Chicken Teriyaki Shrimp Tempura Combo was pretty good. Go with the dark meat. The Rainbow Roll was just okay. Fast food sushi just isn’t for me. I need hot sake and tall Sapporo’s when consuming sushi. My GF had the Seared Ahi Salad. She said it was nice. The quality of the Ahi was very good. I don’t feel so guilty about what I ate for lunch. Now where to get that burger tomorrow…

I stopped by this place after paying a fix-it ticket at the Northridge Superior Court. So I was a bit grumpy. This place is a) very clean b) good selection I’ve been to three Sansai’s so far. This one compares to the Sherman Oaks one, in that you don’t bus your own table. A strange little detail for fast food. I got their special, salmon tempura roll. It was super awesome tasty, especially with the linguini salad and a side of miso. The price is comparable to most upscale fast food. I got my grub fast, and this was a Friday at noon. The service was really awesome. And it feels like such a nice family atmosphere. When I was there a father came in to check on her daughter working. THAT is SOFREAKIN’ COOL. Something my parents would do too. One thing, I didn’t see the option of using chopsticks.

We came here for a quick dinner tonight. It wasn’t quick at all. We waited 15 or so minutes just to get our food. I ordered the 3.99 chicken teriyki bowl special, so I wasn’t expecting much. It was SUPER dry like seriously old chicken thrown on rice and sprinkled with onions. I was less than impressed. Good thing we have a child so she ate the chicken and rice. My husband ordered the 8.99 hand roll combo. He just poured his miso soup down the kitchen sink because it was unedible. His sushi was warm and fishy smelling. Ew. To think we passed up panda express for this crap. NOT happy at all. Not planning on coming back.

We come here often for a quick fix for sushi. I usually get the Pork Loin bowl with brown rice and I like the Spider Roll. It’s a fast food joint for Jap food. I like it, it’s cheap and quick.

Lately there have been two things that made me feel like altering this review. 1st, there is still no option for a side of pan fried noodle or any other noodle that is not part of a salad. However, I have learned that I can order a veggie skewer with my steak bowl. I love grilled onions and pepers. I usually ask for them to leave the zuccini off but thats just a personal thing. I finally feel like I am getting my moneys worth from my meal.(i used to just ask for more rice or just get the salad and throw it out. 2nd, I went to the crappy San Sai location down the street on Ventura and Winnetka. It helped me appreciate just how nice this place is.

its pretty good. quick and fresh, which is the reason why I’ll occasionally stop by during my lunch break. I usually get the spicy chicken bowl, but that chicken is anything but spicy… i usually need to pour sriracha sauce all over it. the oriental salad is quite delicious. its light and full of real veggies, not that iceberg lettuce/crunchy water crap. pretty good flavor. its tasty.

Disappointing. I went here with a friend today. he got the steak bowl, which was NOTHING more than a small handful of steak and a handful of rice for 8 bucks… No veggies, NOTHING else, just those two components. I got the steak platter which was much more substantial consisting of the above but also a skewer of 4 pieces of vegetables and maybe twice the portion. It was tasty, but somewhere near half way through, i lost the interest to eat it. I also got the california roll, which was tasteless, as well as a side of miso which nothing original. Given all the other eateries in the area, i would try those before going back. I felt like it was run of the mill food with ‘japanese’ slapped on the title.
