Nothing great. feels more like a fast food restaurant. I had the spicy chicken, it was just alright I guess, wouldn’t bother coming back.

For casual dining and something semi quick and healthy, this is the place! I order through Unilocal and pick up on the way home. It’s simple and quick. Thank goodness parking isn’t too bad. The Chicken and Steak combo plate with 2 salads is the Nuclear! can’t go wrong with tasty food! its only about 11 bucks too!!! Highly recommend!

It is not the fanciest restaurant but at the same time it’s good. The prices are reasonable and the quality of food is good. I had«chewy» meat a couple times but other than that, it’s a good restaurant. Their menu is versatile and you’ve got lots of options to choose from. The place is clean. My favorite dish is the chicken breast. You have a 90% chance that it will taste great if you order it.

Really great for the price! I’m incredibly picky about Japanese food. I got a giant combo plate that I couldn’t finish, came with tempura, chicken, rice, salad, and miso soup. All for under $ 11 with tax. Adequate service, helpful to me since I hadn’t been here before. Thanks guys!

For fast lunches in the area, this spot is pretty healthy. There is convenient parking around back within the building. This isn’t the best location of this chain I’ve been to. I didn’t feel like the rolls were as fresh as I’ve had elsewhere though it tasted good enough. Also my salad didn’t have as much dressing or flavor as I’ve had elsewhere. Fortunately though, since I know what they could taste like, it didn’t slow me down much. I’ll try it one more time sometime soon — give it another good college try!

It is fast food, not like a regular Japanese restaurant, but the prices are good, service is excellent, clean and good food. The chicken plate is great.

Very very slow service. Came in here for lunch break and waited 30 mins for my order. It wasn’t just me, everyone else was behind. Don’t come in here unless you have a whole afternoon to kill.

Location: On Lincoln in Westchester, this Sansai isn’t located in the BEST neighborhood per say but it is in a decent apartment complex building. It’s relatively new construction for the area. There are a couple other restaurants on the bottom floor with Sansai. Parking can be found in the building on the first floor, however the spots are on the smaller side so it can be hard to park a larger car in there. Also, they go QUICK. Like I said other restaurants and places are right there too and use the same parking. Metered street parking in the area also available OR you can go next store to the ralphs/bowling alley and park there and walk across the street. Service: I think the description of the 2 stars says it all for this place — «Meh. I’ve experienced better». I don’t have super high expectations for places like Sansai. I know they are counter service, casual and not sit down nice Japanese places. But the staff here is never very friendly(nor are they rude though) and no one seems really happy to be there. More often than that there are some obnoxious people/groups at this location and no one ever says anything. Even when they leave a giant mess. Tables don’t appear to get cleaned regularly and often the floor appears, well, dirty. Food: My standard order for Sansai is usually the chicken bowl with the cabbage salad. I have had no problem with the food in this particular combo. You get a very large portion of salad when you order a bowl and the chicken has always been fine. Extra teriyaki sauce is a must though. I know some other people who have tried different things on the menu and no one has ever had giant complaints either. I guess what I’m trying to say is its okay. Just nothing exciting. They do have a wide variety of options which is nice. Overall: If you are craving sushi or a teriyaki chicken bowl and are near a sansai, you could do worse. But given a choice, I would probably try and find a mitsuwa or similar japanese marketplace instead.

Love Sansai. Fish is fresh. I always get the spicy sashimi salad and drench it w sriracha. Staff os friendly and always give awesome service. Pretty good for«fastfood» sushi because of the quality for the price.

Ok, I have to say, I created this Unilocal account just to write a review about this place. I’ve ate some of the teriyaki bowls and they were ok, but today I had the salmon roll, OMG, so bad, so bad, I can’t even explain. The fish wasn’t fresh, full of bones and so much fat. Disguising. Please people, get your cooks to do a better job. Very disappointing.

I absolutely love this place! Probably the best Japanese fast food you can get. You get tasty, quality food at a great price! I usually get the Chicken and Tempura Combo Plate. For $ 10, I get rice, chicken teriyaki, mixed tempura, and 2 sides(I chose miso soup and one of the salads). The chicken: love. It wasn’t drowned in teriyaki sauce, which most places tend to do, so I love that. All the pieces are chopped small, so it’s easy to pick up when eating. None of that cutting it with a knife first or taking a bite and letting the rest fall to the plate business. Lol The tempura: you seriously get so much! 3 pieces of shrimp, squash, zucchini, and some green string beans. On top of that, they taste great and the sauce they give you for it is great too. The fact that you have great tasting sides to choose from is such a plus. Miso soup is miso soup. Can’t mess that up… But the salads you can choose from are great! I always enjoy my food when I’m here.

I love coming here for lunch! The food is so delicious! Lunchtime can get a little crowded and the wait for the food can be a bit longer than enjoyable, but I think the food is definitely worth the wait. The service is always friendly and the place is always cleaned and stock. I love that this place is so close to my work!

I guess it’s the higher end of fast food. Still not super great, though. I don’t have much to say, honestly.

I love Sansai. I come here 2 – 3 times a week for lunch. Yeah it’s not the best sushi or food in the world, but honestly it’s a far better choice than the fast food that placates Westchester. I have to start off saying the Sumi Salad is why I keep coming back. It’s crisp, interesting in flavor, and just the right amount of peppery. I have tried many things but lately I just order Spicy Tempura rolls. It’s 10 pieces and comes with soup or salad(sumi!). Not a bad deal for a lunch spot. It’s not gourmet, but its pretty good. Dip it in sriracha for more fire. I don’t know. I keep coming back!

Pretty decent food. I recommend ordering in advance if you do take out… otherwise prepare for a long wait. Good salmon plates and they have great fresh salads. The sushi is so so. I would stick to the non-sushi plates. Easy parking in the garage.

My experience was… well, let’s just say I won’t be back. I live inside the PDO apartments and have had a slight interest in trying it for the past six months mainly because it’s so convenient. That interest was demolished as soon as opened that to-go box… Let’s start at the beginning. I was walking past, going to my apartment, and decided to check it out. I waked to the counter and the women working asked if I was ready. I replied with a hesitancy and asked which dish out of two are better. All she said was let me know when your ready. I took a guess and picked teriyaki chicken with brown rice to go. I wait a few min and get my dish. I was hungry so I just rushed home. I open the box and see there is white rice, not brown. Okay whatever they screwed up no big deal. Then as I start to eat the chicken I noticed it was RED! I was so grossed out I called just to let them know they are serving chicken this way. The woman offered for me to come down and they will fix it. I denied because I was disgusted by the chicken and reassured her I was calling to inform her. And the rice was hard… doesn’t help. I’m giving them two stars because I lack the heart to give them one star based on the fact they did try to fix it…

For a fast food joint, they have exceptional food. Good portions. I can make two meals out of the combo plates. I used to love their teriyaki chicken and steak. However, the last few times I have visited, I noticed that there is a difference. The meat seems to be wafer thin and overly salted. Please go back to your old recipes, where the meat was fresh and tasty and moist. New owners? Meh. Still, of the SanSais in the West LA area, yours is best.
