Silver Lake Cleaners

Moved to echo park but am a bit obsessive over my clothes so I make the drive here to silverlake cleaners. Jung and Sun are personable and take the time to get to know each of their customers. If you are in a rush and do not want to wait for a hand written ticket do not come here. It’s kind of a time warp when I come in here and I’ve let it become an inadvertent lesson in patience. I just spoke with Jung in detail about the difference between peach and cream colored dresses. I trust Sun with my alterations, (noting that I do not use her as a tailor).
I like it here.
It’s nice to see them and my clothes are taken well care of and my regular drop off is around 20 pieces and that’s about a 5 day turn around.

I love the owner of this place. Very sweet and personable man. He’s so nice and down to earth. It’s not even very close to my house, but I go out of my way to go there because I want to support them. They’re great!

Yang and Sun are the best. Not only are they extremely professional and do great work, they’ve always made fast turn arounds and remember your name. Also, I’ve had great conversations with Yang ranging from chemistry to mexican food. If small, mom and pop stores that provide you with a real neighborhood vibe and personal experience is your thing, this is your place. Go support them with your dirty fancy wear!

We’ve been coming to Silver Lake Cleaners for the last 6 years. We like them so much that we don’t use other cleaners in Downtown but trek over to Silver Lake.
The owners are professional, courteous and a pleasure to work with. Truly special people. While I’ve been working with them they always remember my name and even what I dropped off without my handing them my ticket.
They know what they are doing and are very honest about their work. This spot is truly a gem and I love supporting their business.

I love this dry cleaner primarily because the owner, Jung, and his wife are such sweet people. Further, they are always timely and I have never had a problem with the quality of their cleaning.

I love this place. I’ve been coming here for years, and i don’t trust my clothes with anyone else. Other dry cleaners will use the same chemicals on all clothes, Silver Lake Cleaners matches the cleaning solution to the fabric. That’s why it takes a week to get your clothes back, and it’s worth it. Mr. and Mrs. Kim are wonderful. I get pick-​up-​slips with just my first name! And Mrs. Kim does all my alterations too.

Great place to get your cleaning done. I got some pants altered there. Perfect job. Thank so much!

Mr and Mrs Kim are absolutely amazing. I mean it. I have yet to meet such kind and honest people doing business. They want the best for you and take pride in their work. I’ve enjoyed many conversations with this sweet couple and they always leave me smiling ear to ear.
My clothes are always perfectly pressed and the price is right. Tons of parking directly in front. You can be in and out in less than a minute if you wish.
I love supporting this small local mom and pop shop and I encourage you to do the same. You’ll be glad that you did. :)

Mr. Kim is AWESOME! Always eager to make me smile and get me the best service he can.
Without a doubt, this is my favorite cleaner I’ve ever used. Their prices are unbeatable too! Suits cleaned and pressed for $ 12.50? «Yes!» all day long.
Mr. and Mrs. Kim are incredibly friendly. I noticed the Mrs. was making alterations while the husband was taking orders. It’s a MA & PA shop people! So adorable these two.

EDIT — It brings me a heavy heart that I have to edit my initial review. However the last four times I’ve been here have been a disaster.
They lost three very important vintage dresses and did not seem to care at all. I needed them for an event the next day and was leaving on a plane. Thank god two days later they found them, but that didn’t help my situation other then I would not have to replace irreplaceable dresses.
The last three times I have been in there (usually days or even a week after my clothes were promised) they were not done. OR the alterations were not made but the clothes were dry cleaned or the alterations were done half way with the pins they put notes on for repair still in place.
I’m pretty bummed and realize its time to move on. I’ve given them many a chance only to be very disappointed. Adiós.

Why has nobody reviewed this place yet? I’m very confused!
I love this local dry cleaners! I’ve brought very expensive dresses, scarves and sweaters and they always do a great job and for cheaper then any other place I’ve been. Also I’ve brought a few pairs of jeans with busted belt loops and they’ve fixed those superbly!
I should add that the expensive dress went through some tragic mishaps during a very intoxicated party and looked like I spilled an entire punch bowl down the front. No proof of that now exists!
On top of doing a great job I LOVE the gentleman that works there. He always remembers me and brings up some thing going on in the news or some great deal he saw in the newspaper. He’s even given me coupons for some deal he saw in said newspaper (so sweet!)
