Great haircut for $ 20! My hair stylist was Sista.

No facial expression or eye contact, felt discrimination coz I’m a Asian walk into a Mexican store? Gerrrrr

Very friendly people. The haircuts are great and won’t break your wallet either. $ 14 for a male cut.

I love having my hair cut here! they don’t really use scissors, but my hair looks amazing with just buzzers. They only accept cash now, but it’s worth! I’ve been going to other place because i have some discounts, but nothing can be compared to sista’s haircut. I will always go back!

Though their website says they accept credit cards, they are only accepting cash right now. When I walked in, I was met with blank stares and no greeting, including by the man sitting behind the front desk. Upon seeing the Cash Only sign and getting absolutely no recognition of my presence, I walked out. I’d rather pay a bit more and go somewhere I feel welcome.

I loved this place! I’ve been in other salons in Los Angeles, but this one is the best one by far! Rocio cut my hair just as I wanted it, and for only 20 dollars! I will come back for sure!

I’ve been searching for a great hair cut on the west side FOREVER. Today, I was so desperate for a hair cut I was seriously willing to go anywhere… I looked up the closest hair salon and figured how awful can this place be?
With my sister being a hairdresser I am so skeptical going to anyone else.
Here is my review:
Stylist: My hair stylist was Merdium (if I’m saying it correctly). Her station is the 2^nd chair from the entrance. She did a fantastic job! She doesn’t say much, but showed me how much she was going to cut before hand. I’m always scared they will cut too much off, she cut off the perfect amount. My hair even looks longer now.
Price: The price was 20 bucks which is unheard of around here.
Salon: it’s not the nicest place ascetically. But that’s why their prices are so low, so I’ll take it!
This place is a hidden gem!!! I highly recommend this place of you need a haircut

This place is great, even after they raised price from 12 to 14. It’s worth it.
I went to John Allan’s. A 95 $ haircut place (had a gift card) and the haircut I received was exact same quality as the 14 $ cut at Sistas.
You go Sistas! Very friendly service and they always get ya in Quickly.

She and her staff do AMAZING work.
I particularly go to Sixtas for my eyebrows, only.
She just does the most BEAUTIFUL work!
She shapes&cleans them so phenomenally well and takes her time so they come out looking perfect.
I go with anyone for a hair cut, because everyones work is equally great!
In conclusion, i offer some advice:
If you specifically want Sista to take care of you then i STRONGLY recommend to call in&make an appointment because everybody wants her and the Salon is ALWAYS busy.

I got my haircut done for my birthday and also got straightening done and I absolutely loved it! My friends still talk about my hair from that day! I would extremely recommend this place!

A very reasonable and simple place to get a buzz cut. They charge $ 12 for a buzz cut and starting Jan 2014, their prices for buzz cut will be $ 14. Still not so back. Sistas is very friendly. Their service is very attentive and chill. They do great work as far as a buzz cut is concern. But trust me, there are places that can screw up a buzz cut… Go figure. You will be in good hands at Sistas Hair Cut and Beauty Salon. Best part, they also take credit card… Yah.

Sixta is your go to gal! Only place I get my hair cut! I drive forty minutes just to get there. Take your hair straight and she will cut it a certain way to remove split ends without over cutting your hair.

Had a great experience going here for the first time. I called and asked if I could come in, she said she could squeeze me in, and as soon as I got there, they sat me for a shampoo ($ 6) and haircut ($ 18). She was very nice, very accommodating, and worked my hair like a pro. She even advised on how my bangs would best fit my hair, and blow-​dried and styled it too before I left. Great value, and highly recommended. I will definitely be going back!

Good, solid salon for really good prices. For $ 20 (tip included), I get the same quality haircut from Sista as I would from a high-​end salon. Sista knows her business. The key is telling them exactly what you – use proper terminology and show lots of photos. I’ve been going for over a year and I’ve never gotten a bad haircut – can’t beat the price!

Marcela is my go-​to sista! I had read the Unilocal reviews in search of a place that was going to give me a good haircut without the pretentious price. I am very happy with Marcela at Sistas Salon. When she cuts my hair she takes into consideration my personality, shape of my face, and how it will grow out. I have been going to her for over a year now and what I love is that I just have to plop in the chair and let her take care of everything. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you Marcela!

Loved the way they ask customers before cutting about the size and then give a sample cut and then get feedback from customer whether the size is ok and then proceed further to completion. Again when it was phase two they gave a sample cutting and got feedback and proceeded to finish the cut. This gives confidence, trust and removes any fears in customers heart. I was sure that the hair cut would be great in the end.
Another good point is that they don’t require appointment and just 12 dollars for a men’s hair cut.
Thanks to other Unilocalers for showing me the right hair salon. The staff is also kind and attentive to the requirements of the customer.

I called and asked if someone was available to do a style cut. The lady who answered asked if I could come in, in «one hour” — I and her both reconfirmed «Ok, great see you in one hour.»
I come in one hour later and realize there aren’t any African-​American «Sistas» that work in this salon. Also, there’s two stylist, one in the middle of dying someone’s hair and the other one (That I spoke to) who is beginning to dye another client’s hair. I say, «Hi, I called earlier…(Name)…» She said «I told you to come in 30 minutes.» Uhhh… no you didn’t. She asked me to sit down and wait until she’s done but after sitting for like 3mins and all the negative vibes. I left. No bueno.

Suzy is pretty awesome. I like that they cut hair dry, and she asked a lot of questions to make sure the lengths were correct and to my liking. The best part was that although she had to talk to other clients in person and on the phone on occasion, she never used the scissors on me during those moments. Huge improvement over the chatty Vietnamese ladies who would screech on the phone and to each other, all while pouring bleach in your hair. *shudder*
I trusted her to do layers and a bit shorter than I usually do. Here’s a hint though: tell her an inch LONGER than what you want, because mine turned out shorter than I expected (but it’s nothing that won’t grow out nicely in a week). No complaints really.
While trimming my bangs, she even told me (in a motherly way) to wash my face if I touch my bangs often to keep my skin clear. It brings me back to my acne-​ridden high school days when my mom would tell me the exact same thing.
It’s a bit of a wait on Saturdays, and the store is admittedly a bit ghetto, but for $ 18 and just a 5 minutes’ walk from home, it’s definitely good enough for me! Plus she’s friendly and pleasant and did a great job for both my and Martin M’s hair. I think we were novelties, an Asian couple walking into the primarily Latino salon/​barber. Oh well. Bring cash!

Since discovering Sista’s, I’ve Never looked back. Goodbye Russian Roulette haircuts!
Sista and her staff give superb haircuts with barbershop-​level precision. You get a high quality haircut for the same price as Supercuts. You can’t beat that!
I’ve been particularly happy with Sista and ask for appointments with her because she designs haircuts for me which are not necessarily out of the book.
Women’s haircuts are $ 15+tip, and haircuts for men are $ 12+tip. The staff are very professional and friendly. All speak English fluently, although their natural inclination is Spanish.
