There is a reason why there’s never a line. The food is just pick-your-meat slathered in BBQ sauce. And, for this, they charge a lot of money. My friend got a meat and two sides for almost $ 15. Not even a sit-down place. No marination, no flavor, other than bottled sauce. Given the food options immediately adjacent, this place won’t last long. Also, what’s the deal with the menu that has virtually half of the options covered up? It’s like the menu used to be half-decent.

Was in downtown for jury duty so didn’t have much time and didn’t know where to go without lines. The smell coming from the place was tempting even if no one was inside. No line, easy ordering, baby back ribs off the bone on brown rice not bad, though, strange combo. Better was the side potato salad and cole slaw with the ribs. Sauce was good but too much fat. Best part, besides the no wait, was eating ribs without the mess of having to take it off the bone.

I was so, so excited to see a new place pop up downtown as I was getting sick of the same old spots in rotation during the lunch hour. I was terribly disappointed. There are no words. I ordered the beef brisket place which came with 2 sides for $ 13. The brisket was literally just a big glob of fat. It was not edible. I managed to salvage one small piece and it was flavorless and dripping in oil. I wanted to go back in and exchange it for something else, but had to run into a meeting and the people working there weren’t the friendliest so I decided to cut my losses and move on. The mac n cheese was cold and subpar. Kraft does it better in a box. The sweet potato was not fully cooked and the flavor profile was lacking significantly. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. If you’re craving BBQ, BigMistas during the Bank of America Farmers Market is the place to go!
