The owners and teachers are lovely. They also throw amazing events. Its a must-try for anyone learning to dance!

My boyfriend and I started dancing here a few months ago, and our entire experience at Soho Dance LA has been superb. Everyone has been so nice and friendly and most importantly — the teaching by Mireille — has been absolutely exceptional. She is so knowledgeable and caring, and knows exactly what to do to move you from confused to nailing the moves. She is unfailingly positive and helpful and makes you want to excel for all the right reasons. We started with beginner ballroom group class and have moved up to intermediate ballroom, where we are learning waltz, fox-trot, and american tango. I was pretty nervous at first, but after our first lesson, the anxiety washed away, and our class on Tuesday night is the highlight of my week. I’m not naturally coordinated or graceful, but I’m learning how to dance, which I’m not sure I thought was possible. On top of all that, it is really fun and my brain gets a serious workout! Oh, and you don’t need a partner — we switch all the time so you get used to dancing with different people — so don’t hesitate to come if you’re solo. We also had the pleasure of taking a private lesson with Mireille, which I highly recommend. With that one lesson, our dancing really improved and helped us immensely for our next group class. I just can’t say enough about how great she is! The studio is clean, bright, and spacious. The front desk staff is fantastic. There is free, open-studio practice on Friday nights. There is plentiful, free street parking and the location is extremely accessible and convenient. What more could you ask for?

Amazing new dance studio! From Tango with Makela to Salsa, Latin Hustle with Raul. Raul is the owner and he teaches too! He puts fun in fundamental ! The largest dance floor on the Westside! If you want to learn from the best. This is the place! They also have fun Social dancing. Take a class, then practice your moves! The studio has many dance studios. But the best is the 6000sf studio/dance floor. Check out the beginners specials! That’s how I started, now I’m hooked!

Gorgeous space ! Fantastic vibe, excellent teachers. Bravo ! Great work here. Nothing like it in Los Angeles. They sell custom made dance shoes that are fabulous !! I don’t remember the name of the company but I am impressed !!! The hat store upstairs is also absolutely incredible. Sweet people, everywhere… ZERO attitude. I am in love

Soho Dance LA’s new studio is just what West LA needed! It is clean, modern and has it’s own parking lot. The large ballroom is well suited for big events, it can accommodate lots of people and has high ceilings which helps prevent the space from getting too hot. I appreciate the warm and welcoming environment Raul and his staff create and look forward to learning new styles of dance in the studio’s group classes.

What a blessing for the venue-deprived ballroom dancers in West Los Angeles and surroundings! Soho Dance LA is a new, modern, upscale, dance studio. Large main dance room; well lit with modern sound equipment. Plus separate rooms for private lessons. Our dance instructor of 20+ years, Richard Croteau, has joined the teaching staff. He is a superb dancer but, unlike others, he really knows how to teach! Now my husband and I are looking forward, with great anticipation, to the monthly public dance parties.

I followed Jaclyn Kuka here from LA Dance Experience(now closed). There are private dance rooms off to the side and one large studio. It’s very spacious and parking was easy as well as free. There’s a small garage slightly underground and street parking. I’m happy to not have to deal w/the parking attendants at her previous location. Getting back to Jaclyn, we received dance instructions from her over 8 years ago to prepare for our wedding dance. Many years later, we wanted to learn how to foxtrot, swing, tango, etc. So we reestablished contact and have been going to her for almost a year now learning basic steps for different styles of dance. As always, Jaclyn is the most patient and nicest dance instructor I have ever had. No matter how many times we make the same mistake over and over again, she never gets annoyed with us! I’ve yet to check out their classes, but plan on doing so in the near future. And in case you have problems finding this building, it’s the one with the signage that says hat store or something right next to the 405 entrance.

Raul is an amazing dance teacher. His studio has amazing dancers(teachers) and they teach Salsa, Bachata, Hustle, and Ballroom. His classes are definitely not easy, but they definitely would make you a great dancer. His personality is fun and energetic which makes classes so much more fun. Definitely the one of the best places to start learning how to dance in LA!
