I’ve tried so many acupuncturists over the years, really an inordinate number, so I’m beyond relieved to have finally found Stephanie. She’s the one. She is the best. You have to know that I’m not at all in the habit of referring to people as «healers,» but Stephanie is a healer. By now I’ve been seeing her for a few years; I feel and know with certainty that these sessions have improved my immune system and overall health. And last year when I hurt my arm doing yoga(pretty embarrassing), Stephanie was able to fix it completely in one session. I was gobsmacked. Before I went in, I couldn’t even lift my arm — I had very little range of motion due to the injury and was in a lot of pain. That was the first time I had used acupuncture to treat physical pain, and the result was phenomenal. One of the things I love most about seeing Stephanie is that it’s always a personal experience. She’s a great listener and is thoughtful and takes into account what’s going on with me holistically. She takes enormous care to make me feel comfortable: she uses the small Japanese needles on me, brings out the heater for my feet if they get chilly and lets me listen to Brian Eno during my treatments. It’s heavenly! Going to these appointments ends up being therapeutic for me in many ways. And even when I don’t have time to fit an appointment into my sometimes-insane schedule, Stephanie will prepare a batch of herbs for me to pick up. Her office, by the way, is a cute and homey bungalow on Larchmont. There’s parking behind her building, so I never have to stress with meters. I just couldn’t recommend Stephanie more. She’s the best of the best, and I always look forward to my treatments with her.
