Love the Cubanas. Had them twice in one week! Next time I’ll try a different one and hope to continue exploring their menu.

Great torta. I came here w/my boyfriend on Sunday when we were in the area around 4pm. THANKFULLY they had arrived not too long ago & we’re still setting up so the wait was not long at all. There was one person ahead of us but she had ordered before we even got there. We ordered a cubana torta($ 8) & rusa torta($ 6). The cubana torta was stuffed with so much fillings & was very delicious. The rusa was very good as well. I love that they have a huge window so you can see your food being prepared while you wait. I will definitely come back whenever I’m in the area again.

The hype is real! Go get yourself this amazing $ 8 cuban sandwich on the corner of Central and 41st. I’ve had the cubano from Porto’s bakery, but this sandwich trumps that by far. The sandwich is made to order and was just full of flavor. The ingredients meld together perfectly that made each bite so good. They have an extensive list of sandwiches on their menu, but we went for the most popular which is their cubana. Just watching the man make it was mouthwatering as is. In between the bread was layers of ham, milanesa, chorizo, yellow and white cheeses, quesillo, egg, avocado, tomato, and green chile. I scarfed down a quarter of the sandwich before we made it back to the car, but not before snapping a pic of the amazing cheese pull when you pull the two halves apart. Half of the sandwich was filling enough and the second half was perfect for lunch the next day, although it got a bit soggy. He made every sandwich himself so it takes awhile to get your order. Even though it’s a big sandwich, you’ll want your own, plus it’s only $ 8. Tell them how spicy you want it. The location of the truck isn’t the safest area of LA, so use the buddy system if wandering there at night.(We were hollered at) We got there at 8pm on Sunday night, no line to place your order, but it was a 45 minute wait to receive your order. Service was very sweet even with a language barrier. Parking on 41st.

Must try if your in the area. There is only like 4 seats available so I’d say get it to go. If you come the Cubana is a must for first time. I give it a 4 out of 5. Would eat again only if nearby.

All I can say is, they have some of the best Mexican food I have ever had! I lived in Mexico City for two years, and their tortas are spot on to the ones in Mexico. There are so many different flavors in each bite. The value is through the roof! Be aware that they aren’t open every day. It is worth it to get there early. When I went, the line was really long.

OMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOM!!! Also, it is helpful to speak a little Spanish. They have a nice man there to translate orders if need be, which is helpful if you don’t know what a certain ingredient is. All the meat is delicious. It’s all ham, fried beef that has this caramelized flavor(OMG!), egg, chorizo, and lotsa goodies on top. You won’t be disappointed at ANYTHING you order here. Its about $ 7-$ 9/torta depending on what you get. We got the Cubano which has EVERYTHING and the Sabrosa which is pineapple, fried beef and deliciousness. The truck is on the west side of 41st St off of Central Ave. beside the water store. Call to make sure they are set up first. The first time I went they were closed for the day. BRINGCASH! It just makes life a bit easier. I think they accept card, but why chance it, right?!

Spent an hour or so in line on a Friday night with light showers just to see if the tortas from this small food truck was as great as I’ve been reading about. Let me tell you I’d do it all over again and will do it again because this was the best torta I’ve eaten hands down and I’ve eaten plenty in and out of Los Angeles. Super Tortas DF is parked on a residential street near the corner of Central and 41st so finding parking is easy enough. The moment I stepped out of my car I was hit by the smell of buttered bread being toasted. From here it was hurry and run to the line before more people show up and yes, the line was long and getting longer by the minute as people were showing up in groups. The Cubanas is their most popular and holds the crown for the best torta in Los Angeles with lots of meats but I tried the Rusa which is much simpler. I figured if the tortas are as good as they say, then trying one with less going on would prove it. This sandwich had pork, ham, tomatoes, guac, jalapenos, salsa and cheese… CHEESEGALORE! The melted cheese came stretching out when pulling the torta apart. Well seasoned pork meat was crammed into that warm bread that had no shortage of butter. The torta also had the perfect amount of guac and salsa. Not once during eating did I come across a soggy piece of bread. The salsa made the already juicy pork juicier which I loved. I finished before I even got back to my car… and to think I was going to wait until I got home to eat. These tortas are amazing and deserve much praise. I’m ready to tackle the Cubanas because I know that’s going to top the Rusa without a doubt. Dinner 4÷8÷2016

Came here one early evening for a torta craving after see a video on facebook about them. It’s a stationary food truck location on a small side residential street. The area is a little sketchy. Parking is street so it can be difficult. The menu is right in front but it’s in Spanish. So either have a translation app or a translation friend lol They have sandwiches named after countries which is pretty cool. The staff is friendly but bring cash. Cubans are $ 8 and everything else was $ 6. Now to the food. The tortas are on the big side. Enough for me to have 2 meals out of it. The quality of the food is superb. Beware it takes awhile to get your food. It took me almost one hour to get mine and it wasn’t that busy Will definitely be back.

I’ve meaning to try this place for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype. I went on a weekday night with a buddy, there was no line to order, but it did take a good 10 – 15 minutes before we got our food(this felt like an eternity when the chef is making it right in front of you) We got a Cubano and rusa, don’t get the rusa. The cubano is basically the rusa with egg and a few more things which made it way better. Would come here again 100%. The chef noticed us watching his craft and was attentive when it came to our order!

Every visit that I have to Super Tortas DF has been incredible. All the hype that you have been hearing from the web, blogs and all these Unilocal reviews are all true. I really don’t know how else to describe it. I know for sure that no normal person with a regular appetite can finish the cubana because its about the size of a football. You will only get to finish it if you’re 6’5 with a regular appetite or have not eaten all day. That being said. Its really compelling and will probably make you forget that you have a regular appetite. I won’t be surprised if you guys tell me that you forced yourself to finish it. The cubana is not a traditional cubana sandwich. Im gonna tell you that much. Its like a version of the cubana if you super sized and put steroids on it. Don’t get me wrong tho. ITSINCREDIBLE and has been one of my most favorite experiences eating food in LA. I have also tried their Rusa and its great as well! Really all of these sandwiches kind of wreck your brain as soon as you take a bite. Its really so good!!! Tino and his staff really put a lot of care in making these sandwiches. Try and say hi to him, he’s a really nice guy. Barely speaks any english so you might need to learn how to say hi and some pleasantries in spanish! Sometimes their staff will know some english so you can order easier if its not your first language. That being said, buck up and learn some spanish. «una cubana par(a) aqui, con todo» easy. Here are a couple of tips for you. 1. You can call earlier probably during weekdays. When they are not busy, they take phone calls and your sandwiches are ready by the time you get there, otherwise, you’ll wait for an hour or more. 2. During weekends, expect people it to be packed. no phone calls, just buck up and don’t come too hungry because you’ll really be waiting. There’s no way around it. 3. off The 110 at King Blvd. its easy to find from there just a couple of miles away. Thank you Tino for being such a cool guy and for sharing your sandwiches to the rest of LA. This is really a great gem in South Central!

If you want to wait an hour for OK tortas, this is your spot! They do not give a sh*t about modifications to their menu. We said no mayo and it still had mayo. My bf ordered the cubano and thought it was ok. This place is definitely not vegetarian friendly. I ordered the Suiza which did not indicate any meat but had some kind of ham. Disappointed and would not return. We spoke with other people there and they said it is common to the wait an hour for the tortas… in my opinion, not worth it! It wasn’t that busy. One more thing — this place has a «B», gross.

In the unsuspected depths of a sketchy part of Los Angeles, a weekend food truck stands selling possibly one of the best sandwiches ever made! The moment anyone splits open Super Tortas D. F famous Cubano in half, eyes widen and mouths water! Love at first sight never felt so real! THECUBANO: is their most popular sandwich consisting of two buttered slices stuffed with milaneza, pork leg, ham, sausage, chorizo, egg, different cheeses, mayo, jalapeños, avocado, tomatoes, and some of their sauce! Each bite is overwhelmingly delicious with all sorts of flavor and a kick of spiciness! THESABROSA: also has two thick slices packed with milaneza, extra cheese, pineapple, avocado, and mayo! A more simple Torta but still very appetizing! Recommended for customers who aren’t fans of spicy. As busy as this truck gets, they still know how to be professional and extremely friendly to every customer. If you don’t want a certain ingredient they are more than happy to make it just the way you want it. You can say«Super» is quite an understatement for such portions and service!

Amazing tortas but the wait is pretty bad. I think it’s just time that they expand. They need to either get a store or a bigger truck. The wait would not be a problem for me if the employees looked like they were trying to rush the orders a bit more and if there were actually like 30 other people ahead of me. We waited 2 solid hours and there were only about 10 tortas handed out before ours.

This great place is located on 41St and central on the gated side of a Hispanic convenience store. The owner places his small white food truck around 4:30pm on Saturday. The wait for your food can be up to an hour, but it’s so worth the wait. The guy makes quality food that’s is so fresh and delicious. My girlfriend got the cubano and I got the rusa. They are more than enough to fill a guy up for cheap prices. Total of $ 14. The place draws a friendly crowd from all over. Met people that came from Santa Monica to Victorville. While you wait, there is a taco stand that sells great tacos and drinks like horchata that are authentic.

The Cubana was good. Well balanced torta. Usually Cubanas suffer from an ingredient in them overpowering the entire torta or the bread being to dense. This torta did not have that issue I could taste every element of it. The Only reason why they don’t get 5 stars is cause the wait was way too long(1hr 39 mins) and the service was just not there.

Be prepared to wait a LONG time for one of the best tortas you will ever eat. This is for a Thursday night around 7:30pm Wait time to order: ~25 min Wait time to get food(2 cubanas): ~30−40 min The waiting game doesn’t seem so bad when they have a novella playing on their tv screen, a wide window into the truck to see the food being made, or you’re with good company. Price: No tax, but make sure to bring cash! Regular listed combo sandwiches are $ 6 A cubanas is $ 8 Their glass bottled sodas are $ 1.50 Inside the cubanas: Ham, yellow cheese, white cheese, quesillo(shredded cheese, that’s heated and melted with chorizo folded inside), cut-up hotdogs, some beef thing(which I’m assuming is the Milanesa or pierna– I could be wrong), mayo and butter on the bread, tomato, avocado, green chiles, egg. They already give you one hot sauce, but you can ask for more. The sauce tastes like a liquidy spicy mayo. Think InNOut spread sauce minus the pickles plus a spicy kick. OR think Halal Guys red and white sauce combined, but not as spicy. The torta was delicious. And by delicious I mean, very meaty, perfectly melted cheeses, with the right kind of spicy kick to it. Just say yes.

Supposedly Super Tortas in super famous in the area. I can see why – portions are huge, ingredients just continue to stack on top of one another without stopping, and lots of butter and mayo. The locals around us were saying how people wait hours for a torta so we were good to come right at 3:30. For me though, the flavor didn’t measure up to all the hype. There are layers of cheese in the torta that I felt like should have been melted thoroughly. It just tasted a bit too cold. Also, the meat could have been piping hot, but the cook was in such a hurry to feed all these hungry folks so I forgive him for working too quickly. Retrieving our order was a bit complicated. It’s as if they just memorize your face and know what you order. There’s no number or name they get from you. We knew it was our turn when the lady pointed as us to grab our food. So stand close to the truck so you know exactly when your food is ready. Lots of residential street parking around the truck so we opted to take it to-go and eat in our cars. Obviously, limited seating by the truck. The best part about this trek? The hot sauce. I still think about. The best darn sauce I’ve had in a long time.

I saw a video on Facebook and decided to investigate further. They arrived a little late and we waited for them to set up but it was absolutely worth the wait and the drive. I ordered Rusa(Russian) and my boyfriend ordered Alemana(German) and we split it and shared. It was delicious and i was happily full after. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area or up for an adventure

IDC what people say about the wait, Super Tortas D.F. deserves a 5-star!!! Tip number one: learn Spanish or at least get to know a few to order your food! Thankfully, my 3yrs of Spanish classes in high school paid off! Tip number two: know what you want to order before you line up to order! I hate people in line and don’t know what they want when it’s their turn! The menu is self-explanatory. Tip number three: TRYEVERYSINGLEONEOFTHETORTAS! Hands down, NONEOFTHETORTASDISAPPOINT! I’m not into Tortas but OMFG! This food truck changed my mind about it all! We ordered 2 Tortas and got through ordering in a minute. At first, the wait didn’t seem so bad. Bring a jacket because it was cold af when we went. But after an hour and 20minutes of wait… all my stress of waiting was relieved! ALLTHANKSTOMYPINCHEDELICIOUSTORTA! Being able to watch them make every single torta was a PLUS! The main chef is killing it every time he makes all of them. He knows what’s good. Never skimpy with MEAT, CHEESEANDALLOTHERINGREDIENTS!!! Gahhh! I want more as I write this! Hours vary. They start out by around 5pm to 11pm or until they say no more. Days are Thursdays through Sundays. Parking is sketchy so please be careful. It’s all street parking. We got lucky with residential parking. Best Tortas of my life. Muy serio.

If you’re in the mood for a cheap, yummy, and heavy meal, Super Tortas it is! They open at 3:30 and the locals are already waiting in line before they even get the generator running. Most folks get the cubano($ 8 – all other sandwiches are $ 6) and for good reason too. I saw the guy making it and he just doesn’t stop piling on the goods. So many different kinds of meat and cheeses melted to perfection, cooked with slabs of butter. There’s a fried«mystery meat» that was a bit chewy – only part of the sandwich I couldn’t handle. I especially love the chiles and hot sauce that comes with the torta. I heard wait times get crazy starting dinner time so get there early, aka right when they open. It’s not in the nicest part of the city so all the more reason to head out when the sun is still out!

But alas this place is only open(according to Unilocal) on Thurs-Suns until 2a. Idk if that is correct but it makes me very sad for now but I will have to try it tomorrow. For now please enjoy the video as I do greatly did.

I saw this video trending on FB one day and boy did it look delicious. I was finally close to the area so I checked it out on a late Saturday evening(10:15pm). Looking at the reviews on Unilocal,I’m quite surprised that there’s only a few. Here’s my take: Ambiance: Parking: The truck is in the corner of a business store so basically street parking. I want to say that I got lucky with parking. Seating: There are 5 plastic chairs available for waiting. If not you can either stand or patiently wait at the curb. Feels: * Not in the most gentrified area. Nothing too fancy just a simple truck with a tv replaying Hispanic drama shows. If you don’t understand that, you can also watch them make your delicious order. I would recommend sitting down and taking a quick bite. Food: This reminds me a bit of Fat Sal’s, how the ingredients are excessively served. Rusa(Recommend): Fried steak with avocado, cheese, tomatoes, cheese, and ham. The bread was fresh and crunchy and the fried steak had some pretty good seasoning. The chipotle on the side gave it a good kick. Cubana(Recommend): Fried stead with cheddar and mozarella cheese, avocado, tomatoes, ham, scrambled egg and I believe sliced hotdogs. Customer Service: The communication with the cashier wasn’t clear as his english was very limited but ultimately my order was still good. With about 8 people ahead of us, we dealt with a 15 – 20 minute wait but you can’t rush perfection. Overall: 4.5 stars. My general experiences of tortas have been quite dry and flavorless. However this was cheap yet extremely flavorful and fulfilling. For people that are in for a late night local treat, this is a must. TL;DR Tips: * Keep your eyes peeled for the truck as they may not always be in the same location. Do your research on the menu before ordering. * Sandwiches range from $ 6 – 8 * Though there aren’t so many reviews, this place is famous to many. Be sure to expect a line!
