I have been going to this place for years and the quality has been gradually decreasing. I have gone there for my very last time, last Thursday. The two chefs, while friendly, did not live up to the standard of a real sushi chef. In between making sushi, they were playing on their phones and I didn’t see them wash their hands before touching the food — gross! Maybe you will have a better shop at the other location.

I ate here and at first thought I was like«Ohmigosh! For $ 3 a plate, its not too bad!» and I proceeded to get 2 more plates after one.(I had the Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, and their special baked roll) And then I got sick. The pain and puking was so bad that I’m completely traumatized and haven’t touched any type of sushi for the past 2 months. Not even ones from other restaurants that I usually love eating. D: Never eating any sushi that is less than $ 8 a plate ever again.

This place has really good, fresh sushi. It’s cheap and delicious. That tops my book! Whenever I want some fast sushi, I come here. Go!

It is what it is, no point of complaining with 1, 2 or 3 star reviews. Its very simple actually, you get what you paid for. Dont come here expecting fish that just came out of the waters of Japan, rather expect a fish that has been sitting in the fridge/freezer for a few days. Theres no custom orders, it just is what it damn is. You should know what to expect when coming here people, stop whining.

Oh my god, SCARY. Key points: Unidentifiable sushi rolls(they do not have specialty rolls, and they have a picture menu — there should really be no guessing). Pre-rolled sushi rolls that would cut open, and had fish added to them. Spicy mayo that had probs been sitting out all day. The fact that my two friends and I were the only customers, aside from two shady on the other side of the bar. Cash only. #dark

NO, NONOOOO!!! A friend took me here because she said it was cheap and good. Beware! It is neither! I had 2 sushi plates and could not eat any more as I felt like vomiting! The sushi was not even refrigerated properly! This place must be in violation of at least ½ dozen food codes! There are a plethora of unsanitary conditions at this place! The taste was horrible. They must literally go to the trash bins of other sushi restaurants and dig rotting fish up to serve at this hellhole! I honestly thought I was going to have food poisoning after leaving this place. I don’t know why the city inspector has not closed this place down, unless the owners are paying him off. $ 3 a plate is a rip-off for this trash. I would not even go for free! In fact, I’d rather starve first! I don’t know what drugs people are on who like this place. That is really a sad reflection on our society! Btw, the person who took me there is no longer my friend.

Cheap, tasty sushi. $ 3 a plate, and you’re not really expected to tip as if you were in an actual restaurant. I know this sounds scary to some people, but really, it’s legit. Too legit for me to quit eating it. Cash only, bummer.

Not so sure about Sushi Mac… 3.5 stars? I trusted my Asian friend and came her on her suggestion. I even faced lunch rush hour and waited 10 mins in the parking lot to get a legit spot… Is it obvious I reallly wanted sushi? Actually correction; when don’t I want sushi? Ok, well I was actually really hungry so the option of sushi plus being hungry, plus cheap, plus etc etc you get the picture. To put it simply I’m a sucker for the damn stuff and will go to great lengths to get my fix and even compromise my normal food standards; just to nosh on a roll. Sad but true. Cash only and all items are only $ 3(sound like Sushi Stop on Sawtelle perhaps?). As wonderful of a deal as this is, I was kind of skeeved out by a few things… number 1: The spicy mayo sitting out unrefrigerated. I indulged before thinking twice and fortunately didn’t feel ill or get sick. This is definitely a red flag and could be a cause for concern if someone were to become ill… yeech. Refrigerate that dairy, guys! 2. spicy salmon roll was just kinda crappy… salmon had a chum like quality and just didn’t seem all that fresh. Not a fan 3. ginger was dry and didn’t taste very good(shocker! I am obsessed with ginger and usually overindulge. I barely touched it here) Other than those things, my food was just ok. Its really hard to screw up a vegetable roll, and the dynamite roll was nothing to write home about. I will say that the rolls were really small and sloppily put together, which was kind of a disappointment. The free eel sauce, however, made up for the lack of pizazz. Because of places like Sushi Stop I know that good things can be done with $ 3! Their food is legit and proves that sushi and cheap can in fact be in the same sentence. Maybe Sushi Mac will up the ante and raise their standards a bit… then maybe i’ll be in for a second try.

i should have stopped myself from attending this FILTH when i read«cheap» and«sushi» in the same sentence. CHEAPSUSHIISNOT A DEAL, IT’S A RIPOFFTOYOURMOUTH, SOUL, ANDSTANDARDYOUHOLDYOURBODYTOCLEANLINESS. i have a couple friends that swear by this place, but now i’m beginning to question their quality of life. keeping spicy mayo, WHICHCONTAINSDAIRY, out on the counter for the guests use, is 1. NOTSANITARY and 2. DISGUSTINGLYUNSAFE. if scum bags can dip freely into sauce that i later used and not have a food handlers card, REDFLAG. do you think to yourself when you return home from grocery shopping, «hey, i’m gonna leave the milk sit on the counter for 8 hours,» NO, BECAUSEYOU’REPARTIALLYNOTANIDIOT. anyone who is anyone can buy a sushi kit and slap an unkept roll together, but to have a sushi«chef» serving an entire restaurant LOOSEYGOOSEYSLOPPYROLLSWITHHOTMAYONNAISEONTOP, REDFLAGAGAIN. red ginger slices? FML. cash only is cool, if you’re a drug dealer who lives next to an elementary school. clearly not the mack of sushi, YOUWILLNEVERBEDESERVINGOF A «K», sushi mac.

NOSTARS! This place is disgusting. The location in W. LA is waaaaaaaay better. Let’s put it this way people, I had to stare at my sushi for a good minute debating if I would get sick from eating it… in the end there were some sushi I didn’t eat… what a waste.

For what it is… a quick, no funny business sit down sushi venue. $ 3/plates… everything. Their salmon is pretty consistent I have to say… in a good way! Rolls are on the warmer side… not sure if they keep the rice warm? I don’t know. But if you aren’t a food snob and want cheap sushi for a quick lunch, this is your place. CASHONLY. Parking lot provided.

one word: SPICYMAYO! There is nothing like Sushi Mac’s spicy mayo… which I crave so often! This place is awesome… for $ 3 a plate… it is good and a fast fix. There is something about their taste… dont know what their secret ingredient is. but it’s good! Anyone who complains about a place with decent Sushi for $ 3 is stupid. Obviously it’s not going to be the highest standard… but it is damn good… and I eat Sushi of all different levels. You Get What You Pay For– so my star rating is based on that! Don’t expect anything fancy for that price!

Cheap delicious sushi. The price is set at $ 3/plate. Try their spicy mayo; it’s a delicious condiment. Their tea is good too(complimentary). I recommend trying: 1. spicy tuna roll(8pc) 2. dynamite roll(4pc) 3. soft shell crab(3pc) 4. shrimp tempura roll(2pc) Those four plates should give you a tasty fill for about $ 12. The seating is bar style. I don’t recommend taking a large party. They usually have a tough time seating 4, so any more than that would be pushing it. The place is very clean. The servers are very friendly. It’s a great place to take friends or a date. Parking can be very difficult. The lot is extremely small and almost usually get packed.

For the price, you really can’t complain. Sushi Mac fulfills the craving. I’m not a HUGE fan of their signature roll but for 3 bucks, I figure«might as well! «All patrons share the seating around the sushi bar… this could be a hassle if you come around a busy hour(though I’ve never had to wait). BESTPART: If hip hop or house music isn’t playing in the background, the sushi chefs will turn it on upon request. The experience = cheap sushi + good music. AGAIN, can’t complain!!!

This place is good… If you like eating cat food. My husband and I ordered and out came the most disgusting pre-made sushi we have ever seen. He ate a piece and GAGGED. This is a man who will eat almost anything, and he gagged(threw it up later). The albacore roll was WHITE and we had to ask what it was. We had them stop making our order, paid for what was made and left. If I could leave a negative amount of stars, I would have. We didn’t come here because it was cheap. $ 3 sushi means albacore is tuna from a can. This place is dirty, disgusting, and it should be shut down.

It hurts when you see the prices of a place go up… *sigh* but $ 3 a plate is still not bad at all! CASHONLY. their SPICYMAYO makes them famous… the EELSAUCE is pretty bomb as well. my friends like to mix the two sauces… whatever floats your boat babe. you really cant go wrong with the rolls… their the basics and the classics. im not a fan of the dynamite roll since its literally spicy mayo on top of a california roll… baked. yeah. … just get something else. $ 3 a plate, yes please! But cash only. The sushi is good but of course it’s not going to be like, the best you’ve ever had in your life. If you want super quality sushi then don’t come here but if you’re down for good sushi at good prices, this place can be good for you. No super crazy hand rolls but there is quite a variety you can choose from. You get a menu and just mark how many of whatever you want and hand it to the sushi chefs. It’s pretty fast but you can keep adding on if you’d like. The place can get really crowded since the place isn’t that big to begin with. All bar seating all around. Great place I’d have to say. Parking sucks haha the lot is small and it usually full all the time.
