Cashier is cool and better now that they got rid of the other rude worker. Don’t are fresh especially at 6am. Can’t say how they are the rest of the day, lol. But the best apple fritter and best regular glaze donuts are the bomb. Plenty of options and also crossaint sandwiches ham/cheese & jalapeño and turkey and cheese. Plus many others and get your lotto tickets here. I feel this is a lucky spot.

I seriously thought this place was abandoned the first time I went inside. The shop was a ghost town when I entered and I stood by counter for at least 10 minutes without having a single soul — employee or customer — appear. Seeing how no one who worked there was making an attempt to serve me, I left without buying anything. I mean, I just wanted a doughnut and I could’ve cooked an ACTUAL meal in the time I spent waiting for a cashier there.

Hate it People are dumb, she can’t speak English and on top of that she’s mean and disrespectful. Never says hi always give me the wrong donuts… Don’t go to that place.

This place is so awesome. Any beverage you want, they have it. How about a flaky and warm croissant? You got it. Want a delicious breakfast sandwich for a low price that COMESWITH A DONUT? This is the place to go. Keep it up, Tangs. You’re pretty sweet.

I have been really good lately in not eating too many donuts. Don’t know why but donuts and ice cream seem to be my favorite desserts. I was in the area and trying to decide on where to eat for breakfast and it was a toss up between finding a place to get pancakes or have a breakfast burrito. I thought the breakfast burrito would be the healthier option since it had some protein so and I was near Tang’s Donuts shop so this is where I headed. They actually are known for serving a variety of sandwiches and they have them posted on the wall with pictures of each item. They have a «combo» where you can get a particular sandwich and a donut on the side. I saw the breakfast burrito and donut combo was $ 5.50 so I vied for that since it’s what I originally came in for. Although, a lot of the other sandwiches were tantalizing as well. Placed my order and proceeded to pick out my donut but there were very slim pickins at this point since they apparently had a mad rush earlier in the morning of people grabbing donuts to take to work for Halloween. The case was empty except for one danish and a bunch of donut holes. Well, I got stuck with 6 donut holes as my side. The breakfast burrito was decent. It came with ham, bacon, scrambled eggs, and cheddar cheese. They also served a small tub of salsa. It wasn’t a huge burrito by any means which made me think that paying $ 4.50 for this somewhat skinny burrito really wasn’t a good value as I can get a larger burrito elsewhere for about the same price. I enjoyed eating it though as the bacon was crispy and the flavors all blended well together. I just wish there were a little bit more of it. It’s alright though, it was close and convenient. Another competitor actually had a similarly priced combo with a bagel sandwich but it included coffee too where here, you had to pay extra for it. Still, not a bad place to get sandwiches or donuts. The owner is friendly as are the wait staff so I’ll probably be back again.

This place has great sandwiches and fresh old school donuts. Ive been coming here for over a decade and my favorite is the pastrami sandwich, but you can’t go wrong with the breakfast sandwich, club sandwich or tuna sandwich either. Fresh non-pretentious food and friendly atmosphere.

I discovered this place when a friend came into town and we were on our way to the OTHER coffee/sandwich shop on Bronson. Luckily for us that place was closed so we stumbled upon Tang’s. Tang’s Donuts & Sandwiches is the kind of place that would seem at home on some street off Sepulveda in Van Nuys. It’s nondescript, unpretentious, and the laminated menu displayed in the window shows poorly lit photos of each food item. But for that reason, it really is a find in Franklin Village. I agree with most of the other positive reviews on here — the breakfast sandwiches are great(I got the bacon, egg, and cheese on a buttery and flaky croissant), the coffee is so-so, but the price in Hollywood can’t be beat. Service is also no nonsense but not off putting. If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat in the morning before running errands, or having a meeting, look no further than Tang’s.

It’s a simple little place so if your a hipster it’s not your typical LA trendy hangout but if you want reasonably priced tasty old fashion donuts and breakfast sandwiches, it’s worth popping into this place. I picked up the bacon, egg, & cheese croissant sandwich this am and it was a decent size and delish and their chocolate custard filled donut wasn’t bad either.

«A-OK» is pretty much the definition of Tang’s. Everything’s just about what you’d expect. Here’s how it goes… You walk in and someone greets you about 2 minutes later. Before you know it you’ve only spent $ 2.85 and you’re eating 2 average donuts and sipping an average coffee. You feel pretty average after your stop in and you walk out into average LA weather. Overall, if you’re looking for something that is the definition of average, stop by Tang’s. You won’t regret it, but it won’t change your life.

The fanciest strip mall yet for a donut shop, unfortunately the donuts did not match that of the exterior — they were mediocre in taste & in presentation. We sampled the Apple Fritter and the Old Fashioned Maple. The Apple Fritter was far superior than the Old Fashioned, and if our rating was solely based on it, we would give Tang’s a 4.0, BUT the Old Fashioned Maple took our rating down a big notch because it was not fresh, the Maple flavor was not Maple and we were left with a strange aftertaste in our mouth. The Apple Fritter, however, was crispy in all the right places, had apples evenly distributed, and was what we would hope for in an Apple Fritter — above average in our books. With all that said, we would recommend this donut shop ONLY if you and your family is on their way to the Bat Cave and just wanted to pick up a couple of donuts for the fam on the way up to Adam West’s old hang out. It seems like a nice leisurely thing to do, BUT if you consider yourself a donut connoisseur by any means, this is not your place, even if you like an Apple Fritter, there are better donut shops out there, with better Apple Fritters. This is your standard coffee and donut shop. The donuts were ok tasting and the coffee was a bit overpriced.

Tang’s is a no-nonsense place. Coffee, donuts, sandwiches, lottery tickets and more. I like the way they do the sandwiches — pressed flat, like a Cubano. Basic stuff, but the bread is crunchy outside, soft inside. I’m usually here for a pastrami & egg sandwich. Pastrami here is the bomb — if you like pastrami, come here and give it a shot. The sandwich comes with a free donut or donut holes(and a coffee, too, if I’m not mistaken.) Nice. Donuts are always fresh and tasty. The only problem I have here is with the Lotto tickets: I haven’t won yet, and I still have to work for a living. I suppose I could gripe the same about every place I’ve bought a Lotto ticket, which I only do about three times a year. Now, a few questions: — Are you a pompous, pretentious, self-proclaimed«hipster»?*** — Are you excessively, needlessly verbose in your reviews? — Do you consider yourself superior in the real world because an entity has titled you«elite» in cyberspace, based on the quantity and not quality of the reviews you’ve posted on their website? — Do you think Miami is located in the Northeast? — Do you hold a measly buck and change so dear that you hold a grudge against someone who’s having such a bad day that she’s in tears, and made an honest mistake? If you answered yes to any of these questions, Tang’s is not for you! ***Is «hipster» Californian for douchebag?

Had a pastrami breakfast sandwich from there today. It was like eating a bacon-stuffed Cubano. How come nobody told me that pastrami is like beef bacon? It was surprisingly delicious even though I thought the addition of lettuce, mustard and mayo in addition to the eggs and pastrami was weird initially. One bite changed my mind. Could only finish a half of it, ate the other half for lunch. Will definitely order again. Also had a simple sugar donut — it was so soft, chewy and airy. Mmmm.

Shame Shame Tangs Donuts… This place had to kill my hot chocolate craving… $ 5 for two donuts, and a medium hot chocolate… little bit too much dont ya think?! So i guess the lady at the counter was having a bad day or something because she was being kind of rude, and then she started letting out some tears when a friend started talking to her. so i fel kind of bad… i got home and checked my reciept and she had charged my $ 5 insteead of the $ 3.25 she had told me… what a jerk… not my fault she was having a bad day… i was real mad!.. and didnt feel bad for her no more… although everything was good, and i wanted to go back to try some giant donuts they had… i dont think i will… she really upset me!

It’s a neighborhood donut shop so you shouldn’t go in expecting too much. But they do have my absolute favorite donut here! The brown sugar/cinnamon covered donut is the best thing ever! It’s 75 cents of deliciousness! My bf and I will wake up, walk over for our breakfast and grab one of these. They’re pretty large.

Meh, Uh-huh. I DIDn’t try the donuts(of which apparantly they are famous/infamous for) depending on the review. Maybe Unilocal should do a «breathalizer» test first before Unilocalers submit reviews. Come on…70 cent donuts? Stoner food. But, I did try the deli sandwiches and come on… who u kidding? I’m from the NorthEast, heartland of the hoagie. Tang’s…you’re just under average in my book BUT clearly overated in «hipsterland.»

Average/generic quality donuts, tried several varieties, little difference from Winchels or Dunkin donuts but better than a grocery store at least. The staff were wery nice and happy to assist. DId not try any sandwhiches but perhaps they can do those better. The donuts at this location were definately better than those at the Silverlake location.
