Bad experience. They kicked out my 20 yr old sister for holding my drink. Than i couldn’t even walk her out because theirs no «ins and outs». Overly aggressive security. I would never go there again. No one likes being talked down to like a child. Power trippers.

The system here is among the best in LA, hands down. Good music, good vibes, good people.

Been coming to this location for several years and they know how to put on some good shows here. There are up to three stages here. Main floor, upstairs(has a bar upstairs too), and the stage out in the back where you can smoke in peace. They have good sound quality and if you are going be sure to be there on the Early side because it can get really packed fast. The drinks are reasonably priced. Can’t complain. Enjoy the music and the night. Don’t forget to invite me next time okay.

This place deserves ZERO stars. I bought tickets for an event because I thought it would be fun to try something new. My friends and I get there and this place is disgusting!!! Not only did the hosts not know anything, but they were disrespectful! We each bought a ticket which included a free drink and we did NOT get anything. When we asked at the door, they said they didn’t know what we were talking about, but yet they couldn’t even look straight at us. The rent a cop claimed he owned the place, but that loser obviously didn’t know what he was talking about. Waste of time! DONOTGOHERE!

This place is awesome. The food is great. The beers are cheap and the bartenders are great! Security is strict but friendly and helpful. I’d come back to this bar again. They’re body language me very comfortable. The gay bartender upstairs probably the best bartender there. All in all it was a great experience.

I would probably give this place a no star but I felt bad. We waited in line for about 2 hours. By the time we got to the patio it was 1:20. This chunky men, I say chunky in a nice way, kicked us out just because we needed to use the restroom. I’ve never seen horrible management in a bar. Cesar, I think that was his name. His excuse might be that he takes his job too serious. I don’t know but he is some disrespectful guy! His attitude was poor. His body language made uncomfortable. Oh well. Horrible staff!

So I came here and was kind of taken aback by everything. It seems like an awesome place of it wasn’t always packed, smelt of cigarettes, and was completely up priced. The event music was great, but not worth the struggle of fees and bodies.

I give this 5 stars specifically because of the«We The West» showcase (every 2nd Friday of the month). GREAT artists and music(upstairs, downstairs and outside stages) it’s a pretty big show so there’s never a dull moment and you’re welcome to check out every stage and the different artists performing. My favorite is the audience, it’s always so energetic there’s no doubt you’re going to have a great time. It’s also a good mixture of males and females, unlike other places where the guys will be extremely rude and pushy or dirty, we’ve never had a problem with anyone at these shows. My girls and I come to almost every show and have a blast, I definitely recommend coming to We The West. TIP: The show host Young Baca is also a great dude,(befriend him for specials) he hooked us up throughout the night. Overall a great time we’ll be going again this month !

The Airliner is a great place to catch a show. It’s known for Low End Theory, and if you’re into underground electronic and hip-hop type stuff, this is the place to go in Los Angeles. Drinks are cheap, the bar has a good selection, and the food from the kitchen is pretty good too. I miss going to punk shows at the Airliner, some great times were had.

Low End Theory on Wednesday nights is dope. The bouncers can be huge assholes, but the music is awesome(at least on Wednesday nights) and it’s a chill environment.

The line is too long and the venue is too small to accommodate the hype involved with this place. If you don’t like cigarettes, beware. There’s smokers EVERYWHERE. My eyes were tearing up and I couldn’t breathe for 30 minutes straight. Then I got inside, paid the unjustified fee, and tried to walk around while bumping into people at every inch. They had a bottom floor and top floor for music shows which kind of annoyed me because if I chose one place to hear music, i’d miss out on the other. The outside place sucks though cause it’s cigarette smoke everywhere. As I worked my way upstairs, the people I was with had to use the restroom. Our group for some reason went downstairs and next thing you know they wouldn’t let us back upstairs to hear the music. At this point no one was playing downstairs so we couldn’t do shit. The beer is expensive too. It was just overall an annoying experience, but I will say they play some damn good music.

This place had a horrible, insulting, door man trying to take advantage of his power. Apparantly one security guard runs the whole venue and there is nobody else above him. I would never return to this place simply because of this awful person that was determined to ruining many of the patron’s night.

I remember passing by this establishment every day as a high schooler, and when I turned 18 I was curious to go. 1.5 years later, I found myself walking up to it on a random Friday night. I wasn’t sure how much the cover fee was that night, but I was ready for $ 10 minimum as other Unilocalers had mentioned. Not sure if it was because it was a slow night or because it was just myself entering, but I didn’t have to pay. Just got the standard 2 X marks across my hand and was warned to not erase it or drink. Duly noted, nice bouncer! I was surely shocked when I walked in. There was a bar to my right, a crowd standing by a stage where two people were rap battling on a stage a little farther back and that was all. So I decide to venture up the stairs and it was pretty dead up there too, except there were actual performances going on so I stayed for that. The crowd was pretty dead, but the artists were amped and/or drunk. There were many talented groups during hip hop night that I enjoyed, but it wasn’t quite my scene. I stayed for an hour and a half until Dead Poet Society came up and the speakers got a bit too loud for my eardrums and left. I’ll come back for the infamous low end theory soon and give an update on that show, but overall, it’s not a bad spot. Don’t expect a swanky Hollywood club, but just a small, intimate bar with a crowd adorning fitted caps and backpacks. Casual wear is a must. Keep the heels at home ladies.

The 2nd times a charm for me with this place. I went to the Airliner for the 2nd time on Xmas Eve and had the same problem I had 6 mos ago with their bathroom policy. The«Special Guest DJ’s» were playing on the 2nd floor but when I asked a security staff about using a restroom I was instructed to go to the 1st floor. After taking the 10 mins to use the restroom I was told that I could not re-enter to the 2nd floor through the front stairs I used to get down and instead I’d have to get in line at the back stairs where of course they weren’t allowing any of the +100 people in line to enter. When I asked the Mgr. for assistance his response was«you can leave» which I did immediately. So $ 70 Roundtrip via LYFT + $ 10 cover + 20 mins of music + a piss break= NEVERGOINGBACK!!!

Bucket list time! Followed The Gaslamp Killer on FB for ages and finally had the chance to check out his set live at Low End Theory here at the AIrliner. I was NOT disappointed. GLK, Daddy Kev, Nobody, Nocando, Busdriver, Open Mike Eagle, CMHHTD, the whole crew just rocked it and blew the MINDS of everyone present. I was transfixed and ecstatic to be awash in the experience. Specifics: $ 10 at the door. It is 18+ so be prepared to wear a silly bracelet and explain to kids who Gary Numan and Paul Oakenfold are. As you enter there is a bar on the right manned by some taciturn, but perfectly decent, bartenders. Up the stairs you pass the bathrooms that have unscreened open windows to the patio so random people can watch you pee(?). The patio outdoors features a small bar and an elevated stage and is a generally great hangout spot. Up the stairs from there is another deck and a doorway into an non-air-conditioned dance floor with a large bar and the lair of GLK. Word to the wise: get upstairs at least a half an hour before the GLK set, don’t drink any beer before his set, and don’t drink while you’re up there. Just soak it in and drink booze later. There is NOBATHROOM upstairs, and if you go downstairs to hit the head you will get stuck in the longest line you’ve ever seen to get up to see GLK. Bouncers will not let anyone past once the room is at capacity, so choose carefully: booze or aural awesomeness. CHOOSESOUND

Low end theory on Wednesday nights used to be my go to spot. The music is amazing and they have good artists however the venue and crowd has ruined it. I used to go regularly because the resident djs put on a consistently great show. But those djs rarely attend latetly. And Now it’s got so busy that after you wait in a two hour line to enter you are immediately forced to wait again on the trashy patio in another two or more hour line to get into the building where the artists preform. There is nothing worse than to pay to stand outside on that disgusting patio while your favorite artists are on! If you do manage to get inside past the two lines it is unbearable… It is so hot and they pack so many people in there you can’t enjoy the music without getting heat stroke or stepped on. Not to mention if you need to use the bathroom you’ll have to get back in line(and wait another two hours) to go back to the show. This experience has happened repeatedly for the past two years. This joint was great despite the despicable bathrooms and rude staff. But now it’s over packed and no longer worth it. I have more fun staying at home… I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I heard the echoplex holds better similar styled music shows on Thursday nights. From what I’ve heard they are better with crowd control and don’t over sell tickets so they’re fans miss the show.
