Has a romantic feel to it and is a good place to take a girlfriend/wife. Trechon: excellent texture and taste. Couldn’t really spread it on the bread but still good. Salmon: beautiful presentation. Nicely cooked salmon on a bed of starch that complimented the dish well. Duck breast: the meat was a bit too salty but the sauce evened it out. Well cooked potatoes and asparagus. Chocolate molten cake: delectable, creamy cake with warm chocolatey sauce in every bite. Comes with a scoop of ice cream which is perfect as a simple end to a dinner. The server was nice but the service was unacceptable. Took 40 minutes to get our food and gave my reservations to another couple.

*Thanks for ruining my boyfriend’s birthday brunch. The reservation started out well with Sarah calling to confirm & told me that they’d a special dessert for my boyfriend’s birthday. We got there about 10 minutes early & we were seated way inside where it was stuffy with no AC, way too warm… And no other people. We were literally in an empty room, cricket cricket. When we asked if we could sit out in the patio area where there was at least 4 other empty tables — we were met with so much attitude by the host … I felt he was unnecessarily MEAN. The mood sucked from there & the only nice thing was the helpful waiter. Also, we were NEVER presented with that«special birthday dessert» as the table next to us was presented with their own birthday dessert that we were also promised. I paid $ 120 to be insulted on purpose & this especially sucks because it was meant to be a special celebration. I’m hating the fact that the host held such a grudge to go out of his way to ruin it for us. What an A$&hole!

I really wanted to give this place five stars and I always start out with 5 stars for every place I walk into. I went here with friends for a going away dinner. We had a table of five and were seated immediately due to a reservation. Wonderful. The ambience is great and the Parisian feel is obvious. The servers are attentive and I loved the fact that they scraped crumbs off the table all night. Definitely trained well and high end. We were also greeted by the owner and she is decidedly French. My type of place all the time. We ordered the charcuterie and it was amazing. I really loved all the choices and everything was cooked perfectly. The fresh dip was especially amazing. Breads and cheeses were fresh as well. I loved it. I personally had dessert first as is my usual. The crème brûlée was a tad disappointing. It had a kind of gritty taste and the sugar was not caramelized. Different but not unappetizing. Just different. Maybe the yolks were not mixed enough or folded in correctly? For my entrée I had the duck confit and I was super excited to order it. My grandfather is traditional French and was born and raised outside of Paris. He made it for me all the time. Sadly, this was not my grandfathers confit. It was seared too long and there were pieces I could not even bite into they were so hard. For the price I was insulted. I was able to eat some of it but the seasoning was not there. Quite bland. My party were all satisfied and we had a great time. The drinks were great and liquor aplenty. I will give this place another try to ensure that I was not over judging. But I am not running to do so.

Came here with my boyfriend to celebrate our 4 year anniversary and so glad we did! We made reservations for 9:30 on a Saturday and got there at 9. We were told to sit by the bar to wait to be seated and at 9:30 I ended up having to go remind the seater that we were waiting since she was seating everyone else who walked in with reservations for the same time(the only upsetting part) we ordered the chicken, foie gras, salad, and steak which were all very, very good!!! I loved the setting it was very romantic and they also had great music playing. The restaurant is hard to find because they don’t have a sign. Just know it is next door to the little next door –_–

Wow. What an incredible place. A modest«little door» is all you see from the outside, I wouldn’t be surprised if many people walked past it regularly without even noticing it, but as soon as you step in, it quickly becomes clear that this place is more than just an obscure hole in the wall. I decided to take a friend here on a whim in college. We did dress semi-formally, and perhaps it may have made a difference in service. Or, perhaps, the service is always excellent, who knows. Our dishes: Appetizers: Spicy Steamed Black Mussels and Ras El Hanoth Broth: Fresh and seasoned well. The quantity was enough. Certainly not too little, and not too much as well. Entrée: Cous Cous Royal Lamb Stew, Lamb chops, chicken, and merguez sausages: Wow. The lamb was tender, and the food was, well, delicious. The waiter also explained from what parts of what countries the food was from. Which I forgot. Dessert: Molten Lava Cake: Delicious. I mean, it’s exactly what it sounds like. Cold Vanilla ice cream oozing out of a molten, tender, hot brownie cake. Coconut Cheesecake: The waiter was very partial to this dessert, so we decided to try it. It was not bad. I haven’t ever tried coconut cheesecake before(I’m not a huge fan of coconut stuff, and my friend is not either), but we finished the whole thing. The waited accidentally gave us the bill before the cheesecake, and decided not to bill us for the cheesecake! Wow, I have to say, this was one of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant. The bill came out to about $ 130, which was about the amount I was planning to spend. An incredibly romantic ambience, excellent service, delicious food made for a truly unforgettable experience.

Spare yourself and do not go to this place. In my years of dining experiences, I’ve never witnessed such rude and unwelcoming service. I drove straight from work for a very special occasion, and we chose this place for a rehearsal dinner. After waiting for my reservation, they took me outside and seated me at a table with one of their heaters right under my head. It was incredibly hot(seriously something was wrong with this heater) and I told them it was very uncomfortable and politely asked them to either turn off the heater or move me to a table that wasn’t near one. They told me that the couple next to us wanted the heater, so they wouldn’t turn it off. I understood that, but when I asked to move, they would not accommodate me, even though the entire half of the restaurant was empty! They were incredibly rude to me, including the manager Alia. After being treated like I meant nothing to them, I got up and left. I was in shock. For something that looks like such a nice restaurant, the service was terrible. I’ll never go back and tell all of my friends the same thing.

A little disappointed. I had high expectations about this place since everyone bragged about how it was the top romantic restaurant in LA. Atmosphere was nice, your typical darkly lit restaurant in LA with some string lights to set that mood. My iPhone light was useful here because I couldn’t see what I was eating Food was meh. Didn’t wow me. For appetizers I ordered the«Mezze» assorted Mediterranean appetizers. This dish was huge and it was literally a bunch of appetizers placed in one huge square plate. Didn’t really like it, and I couldn’t see what I was eating because it was so dark. I ordered the roasted organic chicken breast entrée dish which was good but nothing to get crazy over. It was also my friend’s birthday, and I understand they were doing last call, but I felt like the waitress rushed us to leave.

Laurent was an amazing server! Everyone else was great too, but I didn’t get their names. This place is super hidden, it doesn’t say«the little door» on the outside but its an actual little door. Once you walk in, you’ll know that you’re at the little door. I took my loml named Catherine for our 4th anniversary, and it was amazeballs. 5⁄5 would come again.

We live in Boston and came here for our one year anniversary. The Little Door came highly recommended as one of the most romantic resteraunts to try, and it did not disappoint! We had a table in the patio area and it was definitely romantic. The staff were amazing and so attentive, but not overbearing. For apps we got the assorted charcuterie board and foie gras and both were very good and perfect portions to share. For entrees, i got the filet mingon and my husband got the duck. Both cooked to perfection! And at the end of the meal, we got the coconut cheesecake for dessert and it was brought out with a candle and a happy anniversary chocolate banner. It was very sweet! I usually don’t like cheesecake, but this was not too sweet and the hint of coconut was just right. Overall, we were very happy with our meal and experience at The Little Door. We would definitely come again the next time we’re on the west coast.

This place makes me so sad. Why? Because after spending all day in LA, my phone finally died when I needed it most. To take pictures of the delicious food here. I got one shot in and then bloop, it was gone(flatline). So sad… So anyways we arrived here for dinner after spending the whole day feasting and exploring everyone was tired and just really wanted a delicious meal to close the night. The Little Door delivers with its amazingly beautiful décor and ambiance. Everyone was blown by the marvelous appearance and not to mention the excellent service. The lighting inside is very dim though but that create a great mood, very classy. Grilled Filet Mignon– The meat was of great quality. It was tender and moist. The beef was so juicy I could still taste its delicious texture. The flavors were excellent as this clearly was well prepared. It came with zucchini tian, some tomato provençale and potato frites. All excellent additions to the main dish itself. Roasted Organic Chicken Breast– The breast meat was super moist and juicy. That’s good. We thought it would maybe have been dry but nope it was perfect. Chicken was very well seasoned and overall it was a solid dish. You can really taste how fresh the meat was, I was told. Grilled Marinated Mediterranean White Sea Bass– My friend really loves sea bass. Its one of her favorite dishes to get since she is not a red meat fan at all. She highly approves of this dish. Texture was excellent, the seabass was very well cooked and overall the flavors were majestic. I’m glad she liked her dish. Overall it was a solid outing. Everything tasted wonderful and the atmosphere was awesome. Its always a blast when you’re with great company and this place delivers in terms of service and great food. This is definitely shaping to be one of my favorites so far in LA. I’d definitely return again.

I have nothing bad to say about the Little Door. We walked right in, sat ourselves at their bar, and were promptly greeted and served. We only came for drinks, but felt welcomed, and got quick and kind service. We admired all the food that walked by, even though we weren’t eating. I’d definitely come back to eat, it looks fantastic! I’d recommend this place to anyone with a few extra dollars who is looking for a great spot with great food and great service.

Surprise dinner for my boyfriend! Trying to find this place was a bit difficult since there is no name but just two tall wooden doors. It is on the right of the Little Next Door. Valet outside is $ 8 Entering in looked like magical garden patio area filled with candle lights and plants growing up towards the ceiling. We decided to share a cucumber martini($ 15) which is slightly in the stronger side, but still light and refreshing. Next we decided to try one of their famous foie gras appetizer which included a savory crime brûlée. It tasted good but nothing extremely spectacular; maybe I haven’t tried enough foie gras to really judge it. The truffle brioche toast with foie gras and crème brûlée was a nice combination of sweet and salty. Next we ordered our entrée: Mediterranean Chilean sea bass($ 34) and the duo duck confit($ 40). The sea bass was really soft and moist, still a little fishy though. But the mixture of ratatouille and mash potatoes balanced out the dish nicely. The duck confit was really tasty and succulent but tad bit salty. * Took quite a while for the waiter to get our order and bring out the next entrees. Wished they checked on us more often, but at least it gave my boyfriend and I time to make conversation between meals. Lovely place for romantic dinner.

Not to be confused with the Little Next Door(which is literally next door). Parking: If you come early and have time to kill, there’s metered lots on the street, but you’d have to decipher the LA parking signs. If you don’t have time to hunt for parking, there’s valet right out front. Atmosphere: If you bring a date here, you’ll get major bonus points. The venue is magical, and the pictures don’t do it justice. Ladies, if a guy suggests this place to you, he’s putting the moves on you. Food: Duo Duck Foie Gras– Can never go wrong with Foie Gras. And the side crème brûlée and truffle bread was FABULOUS. My guest didn’t know what foie gras was, so when I told them, they felt guilty. More foie gras for me! All according to plan. Goat cheese pistachio tart– It was like a quiche. The tart itself is fine to split amongst 2 people. Not more though. And the dish was mostly beets piled under the tart. If your date loooooves beets, then you are getting some tonight. Couscous lamb stew– This plate is huge; it could easily feed two people. And it’s very meaty, so it’s good for carnivores. Many animals died in the making of this. Bacon-wrapped monkfish– Little known fact: the monkfish is one of the most nightmarishly hideous fishes in the ocean(Google it), but damn it if they aren’t delicious. It had the taste and texture of a large, grilled scallop. And wrapping anything in bacon is like having Steph Curry on your team, it’s so good it’s practically cheating! The pasta was pretty mild in taste, which was a good balance to the bacon. Drinks: Normally, drinks taste the same to me in other places, but the cocktails at Next Door really stood out, in a good way. They actually have unique and distinct ingredients and flavors. Totally worth every penny. Service: They were Goldilocks. Just right. They show up when you need them and they are absent when you don’t.

Exquisite food and ambiance. Seemed like we ordered everything, as we often do when my brother is with us. The sampler platter of hors d’Oeuvres came out quickly and was almost enough for a party of five to get full off of. The lamb was wonderful, tender and flavorful. The fish salmon was pitch perfect and the bites I took from everyone else’s plates were all mouth watering. It’s on the pricey side but well worth it when you’re looking for an indulgent and impressive meal.

Ambiance — 4 stars. I sat on the patio and enjoyed the color, space, and music. Food — 3 stars. Great mint tea ! My quinoa cake was a little soggy(minus 1 star) and my vegetables were so mushy I didn’t touch them(minus 1 star). Menu variety — 2 stars for brunch. Only 1 chicken option, no substitutions, and few selections for someone with a restrictive diet. No accommodations were offered. Service — 2 stars. Server kept rushing us to order, clearly didn’t get that we were talking and taking our time — minus 1 star. Menu wasn’t up to date online; I came wanting a specific chicken dish — was told it is no longer on the menu as of 2 weeks ago and that the chef refused to make it and doesn’t do any substitutions or «special orders.» Didn’t think it was a huge request but was made to feel obtrusive for asking(minus 1 star). Lastly, after bugging us so much in the beginning, there was little service once we got our food and the server brought our bill without asking if we wanted dessert — we did, and went elsewhere after it wasn’t offered(minus 1 star). Overall, had the potential to be really special… I’m sure it’s gorgeous at night. Lack of service and mushy food makes this a place I can’t recommend. If you do come, grab the curbside valet… it’s right in front of the little door.

So we made reservations for may 8th with was both mothers day and dads birthday, they were very accommodating and professional. Honestly this is the type of place, if for some reason you have a bad experience it’s probably you as a person. The staff is very attentive from making sure your table is clean to always having full glass of water. The food was both delicious and beautifully presented. We tried a couple of the entrees and the duck confit was probably on of the best things I have ever ate. Do yourself a favor make it a goal to try everything on the menu. This place is more then just for romantic dates, it’s a place to enjoy life.

My boyfriend too here for my birthday make sure not to make reservation at the place next door since they are a little different in atmosphere. This side has a door in the front it has more of a romantic dinner feel while the other side is classy with friends and drinking. We had to wait an hour or so since he made reservations at the other side by mistake. It was totally worth it I love the lighting inside kind of dim and open with lights every it was super romantic. I wish we got seated in the more open area but we got seated deeper in there was stain glass window and old style For appetizer we had the duo of duck foie gras which I am in love with. I had foie Gras before but it is so smooth here so good on the toast make sure to save your toast to spread more of the foie Gras on. The crème brûlée foie gras was okay I’m not into the sweet taste with the foie gras. For the main I had the duo of duck breast and leg I could really taste the honey in the dish. I enjoyed the breast a lot but the leg was okay could use more flavor not sure if this was worth it. My boyfriend got the rack of lamb which was very good I like the crusted mustard seeds on the lamb. Dessert super cute they bring out the list on a chalkboard and explain it to you. We went with the flan made with honey and duck egg. It had a nice texture not too thick like Hispanic flan a little bit softer in texture I almost didn’t want to share. Service wise our waitress was wonderful and super friendly giving us plenty of recommendations. I definitely want to come back here to try the prime ribeye looks like everyone eats that here. I would recommend making a reservation for the weekend it’s a hour wait.

Made reservations through Open Table and was excited they partnered with The Little Door to use their payment service. We arrived a bit early and sat at the bar to wait for our table, and started with a bottle of French Red Wine they recommended. Delicious! The waiter was attentive and provided excellent service! We ordered a cheese platter to begin with and since I had their set menu(what a bargain for the ambiance and service) I had their vegetarian appetizer as well. My boyfriend ordered the Filet Mignon and it was perfectly cooked and savory. For dessert I ordered my «go to» — Crème Brûlée, it was smooth and rich in taste. They were also very kind and surprised us with a «Happy Anniversary» dessert! The food is delicious but the reason we are giving this restaurant a five star is for the service and romantic ambiance. I would recommend you request the patio area, it’s not guaranteed but it makes for a memorable experience. Thank you!

It is the most romantic restaurant east of 405FWY and one of my favorites. The Little Door has been a stable French restaurant in Los Angeles and you will know why it has been around and striving for years as soon as you step through the door. I have been going to The Little Door on-and-off for years now and haven’t had a bad bite… Not even a so-so bite. There is no pretense to their food, just delicious, earthy and delightful. The service has always been spectacular. The staff are always attentive and accommodating.

Been eyeing this place for ages now… and finally got to experience it for my 6 year anniversary dinner with the boyfriend :) Made reservations for 2 on a Thursday evening at 7PM, easy peasy no issues. You can either valet or street park. We did the latter since it was a Thurs. night and found metered parking quite easily across the street. //Food Ordered //(free basket of yummy bread + olive oil with balsamic sauce) 1. [[Appetizer]] Duo of Duck Foie Gras«Torchon» and Crème Brulee(5⁄5 stars): WOW this was hands down the BEST foie gras I’ve had. The Duck Foie Gras was smooth, creamy, with a hint of that yummy duck taste. The Crème Brulee foie gras was such a special treat — complete with the glazed sugar coat on top, and such a sweet delicacy. Best dish of the night! 2. [[Appetizer]] Mezze Assorted Mediterranean Appetizers(served with homemade pita, flatbread, Kibbeh, Falafel, Spanakopita)(4⁄5 stars): What a delicious combination of mediterranean food! Tbh I haven’t had all that much experience with mediterranean food in the past, so this was a more refined taste than I was use to. Flavors are simple, clean and fresh tasting. 3. [[Entrée]] Grilled marinated Mediterranean White Sea Bass, Sundried Tomato and Pernod Sauce(3⁄5 stars): Comes with sauteed spinach, braised fennel, black olive tapenade potato purée. I was already getting full at this point, so it’s slightly unfair. The bass was pretty tender and fresh, but I felt that it was just a littleee bit dry at some parts(whereas the bass at Fig & Olive was nothing but melt-in-your-mouth texture). Also the entire plate together doesn’t seem to fit all that well together in flavors, but that may be a personal preference. 4. [[Entrée]] Duo of Duck Breast and Leg Confit, Blood Orange Marmalade and Pistachios(3⁄5 stars): Bf ordered this. Only had a bite, and thought the duck(leg) portion was tasty but didn’t stand out that much. maybe because duck is such a popular dish in Chinese culture and I’m used to having them burst with flavor which didn’t happen here. //Drinks // Their wine and cocktail selection was quite big. Had a fruity cocktail and a French red wine, both of which went really well with the meal. //Service // Great service, our waitress was so sweet and not overbearing. //Overall // Yes would definitelyyy come back if I have the chance to :) This is the PERFECT restaurant for a romantic date or special occasion. Food; 4⁄5 stars Ambiance; 5⁄5 stars

4.5 stars: what a perfect date night location! Food: –wild boar ravioli: I liked the sauce but I wasn’t a huge fan of this appetizer, its tiny and the ravioli itself is pretty dry –duck confit: This is one of their more popular dishes and I can see why! The duck meat on and off the bone was so tender and delicious. It was served with a citrus sauce which I didn’t even think it needed. –bacon wrapped monkfish: I had a few bites and it was good! Very tender –coconut cheese cake: OMGGGGETTHIS! Even if you don’t like coconut this cake is heaven Ambiance: This restaurant is so lovely, you eat under a canopy of tree branches, twinkling lights and lanterns. Service: very fast and prompt Price: $$$ Tip: This restaurant is a little hard to find, just look for«The Little Next Door» the valet is right in front of that, and the restaurant is located behind a pair of tall wooden doors. Just open those up, and be amazed at the gorgeous scene within. Ask for the patio room!!! :)

Hidden gem! At least for me! Trusting my Unilocal,I’m quite pleased I found this place! It was my girlfriend’s birthday and I wanted to take her somewhere I had never been but also because we were celebrating a milestone. First, reservation was very easy to book, and even when I needed to modify it, many times available(and let me say… the place wasn’t empty) so that was great. We opted to eat around 8:45pm as I was monitoring traffic and it wasn’t pretty! Leaving from SGV, it was about 40 minutes(no traffic) as compared to a possible hour(in traffic). Once arrived, we valet the vehicle. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’ve never been before so look for the big brown door. I checked in with the hostess, and here I will say I wasn’t entirely pleased as I had a reservation but still has to wait another 15 minutes. We throughly looked at the menu, I decided on the rack of lamb, medium rare and my girlfriend had the filet mignon, also medium rare and our appetizer was the ahi tuna. Everything was cooked perfectly. My girlfriend loved the filet mignon and devoured my rack of lamb. It was that amazing. For dessert, we ordered the molten lava chocolate cake and that wasn’t too sweet which was great! The service was attentive and food arrived in a good amount of time. Ambience was lovely. It’s a great place for friends or significant others. Lovely evening with a lovely friend of almost 2 decades. Tips-valet is $ 8.

Si je revenais à Los Angeles, j’y retournerai surement.
