Great place for some comfort food and then some. MACDADDYGRILLEDCHEESE Aged sharp and mild cheddar blend with macaroni and bacon, what’s not to like? Good stuff. And on a random note, we saw Chino and Abe from the deftones outside and gave em a wave and a what’s up, and got one back from ‘em. Cool dudes.

I ate here back in August with my family when visiting my sister in LA. She told us about this place and it’s delicious! I had a classic grilled cheese sandwich with fries, and I already can’t wait to go back and try something else. The sandwiches are not too big or too small, and they give you a bunch of fries! It was also so quick to get our food, you can either order online or on these iPads when you first walk in. The food is ready in just a few minutes. Definitely a must try if you’re in the area!

Bottom Line: This place is pretty basic. Don’t go in with cool crafty expectations-it’s nothing special. That being said, service is quick and who doesn’t like some cheesy mac. I also think their soups are pretty decent. Firstly, what a COOL concept! Unfortunately this place falls short– it has so much potential! :/ Food: 2.5÷5− There isn’t anything original about the dishes and they don’t taste crafty enough to me. The mac and cheese isn’t anything that will blow your socks off, their grilled cheese is alright, and the soup is alright. Atmosphere: Love how techie they are! Their system for ordering is great for expediting the process. I don’t necessarily liked being called«TB» though :/(I’m sure some of you guys get why…). They call you out by your initials. Side note: it’s kind of cold in there. Service: Everyone was super friendly! Ill probably be returning– but only because I like cheese. Even basic cheese.

Great location, staff was very nice and food came out quickly. I shared the bacon mac and cheese grilled cheese and an order of fries and really enjoyed both. Love the seasoning they use on their fries, almost like sour cream and onion, very addicting, I think the Melt has some of the best fries ever! Prices are portions are fair, location bight, clean and modern. Worth checking out on a cheat day.

This place is the worst! You’d be better off going to Mickey-D’s. For the price of the burger I had, you could’ve had 3 quarter pounders with fries. The soda(water) fountain they have sucks and the service was weak. Robots should operate this place, then at least they would’ve earned 2 stars!

At most sandwich and burger joints when one asks for their burger medium rare, one will receive their burger medium rare without any fuss or hesitation. However, here at The Melt, you can forget about getting what you want and instead, you can look forward to being told that the restaurant’s policy prohibits any pink meat be served. I know this isn’t Burger King and I can’t have it my way, but… wait. Why can’t I? I also asked for my burger to come only with lettuce, pickle, cheese, and avocado. This simple request was ignored and I received my burger smothered in sauce. Whatever. Sincerely, Picky but not THAT picky

This has become one of my FAVORITE restaurants. *I have celiac disease, so it’s not easy for me to go out to eat without regretting it. :(They have DELICIOUSGLUTENFREE bread & hamburger buns! The best I’ve had among the few restaurants that carry it. :) And the best part is, they don’t charge extra for gluten free! They are an all natural, healthier alternative to «fast food». They use their own seasoning on the fries & sandwiches(I think it’s just dill seasoning, but omg, it’s SO much tastier than salt). They have a tomato basil soup that converts those who hate tomato soup to addicts.(Seriously. My husband.) It’s a simplistic, modern atmosphere. Friendly employees. When you order, they put your initials into the computer & you see your initials on the screen & that they’re working on your order & when it’s ready. You pick up your order from the counter & have a seat. They have soda pop, but it’s natural cane soda from their fountain. If you’re not used to that, you may not like it. They have delicious lemonade, but there isn’t free refills on lemonade. They also have iced tea that is good. Their milkshakes are also delicious. Join their loyalty program & get your 11th melt free & a free s’more melt for your birthday. I gave it 4 stars because: I don’t care much for getting up after grabbing a seat to get my food. Most places have free refills on lemonade, so I don’t quite understand why they don’t. I realize it’s house made lemonade, but I’ve been to other places that do the same & it’s free refills. Their sink by the restrooms is often out of hand soap and/or paper towels. And they wouldn’t accept a picture of my loyalty card that I forgot at home, said it had to be present.

Even though its not expensive the food has let me down every time. i’ve tried mostly everything since i tried to like it because i work near by and its safe to say skip this place and go to tender greens next door. you’d think this place would put more cheese on their grilled cheese but you should just eat buttered bread.

Nothing special unless you want a quickly made hot and gooey grilled cheese is all. Who doesn’t want hot and gooey cheese on hot toasted bread? All in all an average experience, a bit disappointed in the lemonade for being«fresh» made onsite I’d skip the lemonade, it’s a bit watered down and a tad too sweet for me.

Handcrafted Mac n cheese my balls! All it is, is COLD noodles with UNMELTED bagged cheese… Boxed Mac n cheese is way better! Such a disappointment!

I really enjoyed the melt! It was open later than most restaurants in the area, as we came for an 11p movie at the Arclight. I had the cheesesteak melt and he had the mac daddy. We shared Well-dressed fries(delish!) And definitely get the natural sodas… its like a party in your mouth!

I was very excited to try this place, I liked its general vibe and décor, but I can only be described as deeply mediocre. I got the wrong order first, but even when the correct one came out the normal fries were cold and seasoned with this green salt stuff to the point of being inedible. Seasoning stops there though. The burger was overcooked like a hockey puck and sandwiched between two ice cold stale buns with just some sad little pieces of lettuce. And the melt sauce, no where to be found? Go to In N Out, save 8 dollars and your stomach!

Stopped in for Sunday lunch and I was so excited to try their Mac & Cheese grilled cheese sandwich… Upon arrival, you have the choice of ordering at the counter or making an order yourself on the small P.O.S kiosk(which is pretty cool). After, there is a ordering board where your initials will be shown and called out. So, I decided to order the MAC Daddy, one of my best friends ordered the Mac and Cheese Florentine, and my bf ordered one of their burgers. Sadly, everything we order really lacked in flavor. I was so disappointed with my MAC Daddy. I honestly, though I could’ve made this at home. The only enjoyable item was the fries which came with the burger. Other than that, nothing else was really had a WOW factor. Also, it’s pretty pricey for what you’re getting. Service: It was alright. Really busy though! Would I come back and try something else? No. haha

I have a very low tolerance for mediocrity, the status quo, the just«O K». With that in mind… The mood for a burger and fries struck me fancy today, so I decided to check out this place. Why not? Ordered their Original Burger and Naked Fries. The cashier ask for my initials to tag the order. There is a screen displaying the customers initials(the orders) moving up the queue. My order was the top three, but unfortunately, I still have to wait 10 minutes, even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. There is an online order system on their website, but I wanted to walk in to place my first order in person. So what did I really get for $ 8.61? The Naked Fries were tasty. Firm, crispy and just the right amount of salt/spice. Small portion though… Now the Original Burger, that’s another story. The thick white buns tasted stale and spongy, and not toasted(what Melt sauce on the buns?) The beef patty was over cooked, and unseasoned. Some sad little pieces of lettuce, tomatoes and cheddar worked very hard to support the general dullness of this underwhelming burger. There was so little flavor that I had to dip it in ketchup to make it tolerable to eat. Did I expect this place to blow my mind and transcend my senses? No, but I expected my lunch to satisfy a certain level of craving… Next!

As a man who would consider himself a connoisseur of everything meat related, I was overcome with ecstasy of the taste buds when I saw the Philly Cheese Steak on the menu. Now mind you, I’ve bared personal witness to the tastings of Geno’s Steaks and such in the heart of Philadelphia, so I knew there was slim chance of comparison after all. I must say, I was aghast upon receiving my log awaited product of commercialized food institution frenzy(I ordered with a digital cashier). My much longed for philly steak sandwich had TWO penny sized medallions of beef between the cheese explosions of slices of bread. Two. Not three or one. It’s almost appalling when you can visually count it in a mere second. I calmly ate my sandwich, reciting epictetus’ proverbs deep within my soul, so these are outside forces I cannot control, and can only contain back the tears of disappointment and betrayal that The Melt has nearly drowned me in. Was worth a shot, but I will make it a mental note to take my taste buds elsewhere. Wompers…

One word: Cockroaches. My wife and I are regular patrons of The Melt. I enjoy the burgers which are very reasonably priced, and my wife enjoys the grilled cheese sandwiches(a little overpriced but the location is convenient). It’s a shame they took away the chips on the side, because it helped some what justify the price of the grilled cheese. It’s such a small expense for the store, but it really makes a big difference in the perceived value. My big gripe was finding cockroaches on the floor by the kitchen. Unfortunately we didn’t see them until after we’d eaten, but it’s going to be hard to eat there in future following the experience. They were squashed to the floor so there was no reason for them not to at least have been cleaned up, but now knowing they have them around the kitchen is more than off putting.

2015 Unilocal100CHALLENGE — 033⁄100 All I gotta say is BLAHBLAHBLAH. We were walking by on Sunset and only stopped by because of the whole grilled cheese, cheese melt thing that’s going on all over LA, we thought this would be a great place to try out an awesome kind of grilled cheese. No, we were wrong. I think they had 8 things on the entire menu, and only 3 types of grilled cheeses? My friend got the classic grilled cheese and she said it was just OK. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich which was OK as well. Not much buffalo sauce, it was watered down. Pretty small in portion too, and the buns were very dry, and neither came with sides. So we ordered a side order of mac & cheese… this was the worst thing we had. WOW! Firstly, the macaroni’s weren’t even fully covered with cheese/cheese sauce. It was just in the middle, and there wasn’t enough of it to cover all of the macaroni’s after it was mixed. So most of the macaroni was just eaten like plain, tasteless, boiled macaroni. The cheese/cheese sauce itself was sort of tarte and not good at all. I guess the only reason I’m giving an extra star is for the charging stations they have at every booth, which I used, that was pretty convenient. But food-wise this was a bad experience and we won’t be back.

Went back today, and as I suspected the first time, I must have gone that at a really bad time on my previous visit. This time, there was no line, and I got my food in a very reasonable amount of time. Everything seemed to be running smoothly, even though they had less staff than last time. Last time I was disappointed with the burger, because it was so small and not juicy. This time I went with The Classic grilled cheese melt. $ 3.95. Aged sharp cheddar on artisan white bread. You can get tomatoes and roasted jalapenos on it for no extra charge. I went with the tomatoes. It was very tasty, and very filling. Way more filling than the burger I had last time. The fries were also good, and plentiful. I couldn’t even finish my fries, because I was so full… and I have a pretty hearty appetite. My friends had the field greens salad with chicken. They said it was really good. My advice is to go with the Classic grilled cheese, fries, and a drink. It’s a little over $ 8 total. Not too bad. You won’t leave hungry… but if you order the burger combo, you might leave hungry.

This place definitely hit the mark when it comes to pricing. Some of the newer trendy fast casual restaurants make you pay like $ 2 more than its worth with but this place keeps it real. I got the truffle grilled cheese with field greens on the side. Their salad was exactly what I look for in a spring salad — perfect amount of tart & sweet. It complimented the rich truffle flavor very well. The sandwich was great, but. I preferred my friends sandwich — the Italian job. The garlic bread, cheese, and mushrooms added more flavor to the sandwich. Not to mention it’s cheaper than the truffle. One thing I thought was weird was that they ask you for your initials to be called when your order is ready(as opposed to your name or ticket number). An order for«H» just sounds weird and makes you wonder if anyone named Harold ordered before you. Overall I had a good experience but I wish their burgers were made as a grilled cheese sandwich.

After going to a concert at The Hollywood Palladium, my friends and I were looking for a place to eat. All that singing and dancing sure made us hungry! What better food to satisfy our late night cravings than a grilled cheese?! Though others from the concert seemed to have the same idea, it wasn’t overly crowded. They have a digital«Order Board» screen that lists your initials and what processing stage your order is in. This lets you know if your food is still being made or if your order is about to be called. Very useful! More restaurants should install a system like this! Food: — The Mac Daddy — Aged Cheddar, smoked bacon, macaroni on Artisan White, and I added tomato. Comes with a pickle wedge. Lots of gooey cheese with just the right amount of salty bacon. There was plenty of macaroni, which created a unique texture to the sandwich. Also, the bread is well buttered with lots of seasoning. Overall, it was a tasty grilled cheese, but please don’t tell me how much sodium is actually in here…
