My eating companion is British. She had the«Full English Breakfast» but was very disappointed and rated it one star: — American-style bacon(English bacon is the cut we call«Canadian bacon» though not with the sweet cure) — beans were underseasoned ANDUNDERCOOKED(crunchy, yuck) — sausage and tomatoes were underseasoned as well — expensive($ 16!) — when we told the server it wasn’t really an English breakfast, he admitted it wasn’t a traditional English breakfast. Which is weird, because all the marketing for the Pikey and the menu tout authenticity. wtf — ordered a latte, but they brought a cappuccino I’m a veg so I ordered the crumpet and curry duck egg on toast. I’ve never had a homemade pan crumpet like that before, boy was that awesome, quite rich & with real clotted cream too. High marks on the starter. I don’t like runny so I ordered the duck egg over hard, which of course changes the liquid composition of the dish — so it’s not the chef’s fault it was a little dry. But the curry was delicious and I especially appreciated the cilantro and finely minced shallots. I rated it four stars — the toast was slightly burnt and it was very pricey. Sorry Pikey. Not quite dialed in, inconsistent. But maybe I’ll drop by for another crumpet some time.

What a cool place! It’s the perfect place to hang with your mates and enjoy some bites, meal, drinks and conversation. The staff are all really personable and genuine. Everyone enjoyed their drinks. I don’t drink alcohol, only because I’m allergic. But I EAT! I ate a market salad with pressed ricotta. WOW. That was DELICIOSO. Also, I had the cheese plate. TASTY. Chill ambience. Warm energy. Good vibes. Nice chunes. Awesome crowd.

I wanted to try a «English breakfast» since I never had one. After searching I can across The Pikey. It was my first English breakfast, and everything I imagined it to be! I only wish I could try a spot in LA that had black pudding. :)

Although I generally like this place and the food and ambiance are decent, I hate the false advertisement of free Bloody Mary or mimosas with Unilocal check in. Went with a groups on a Wednesday solely for this reason and was rudely told by a wannabe actress/waitress it’s only on weekends. If that’s the case the Unilocal check in should name exclusions. Otherwise it’s flat out false advertisement. Also food was not up to par with my last visit. Hope management will fix Rude service and up date check in.

Saw this in an article as a hotspot for day drinking, and it was a fun place to perch for a few hours. Delicious drinks! And a great scotch egg with perfectly runny yolk!

Off the charts, best experience I’ve had in Los Angeles in years. Best burger in town. Great suggestion by the bartender. Just my vibe. Thank you so much! I highly suggest anyone to come for dinner or cocktails. I will be back

The Pikey is surely one of LA’s most underrated restaurants. The food is fantastic and the place has a great lively hipster gastro pub vibe. The vinegar chicken is one of the better chicken dishes in the city and their«thrice cooked chips» are delicious. Great salads and vegetables as well and a solid weekend brunch. Highly recommended.

Disaster! Booked a reservation to try their«Sunday Supper». Although my waitress was top notch and attentive, the Sunday Supper was the worst! The potatoes [if that was what they were, were rock hard and black. Very little meat and lots of visible fat globs. Really disgusting. I should have complained.

What have I been doing living two years in LA and not knowing of this place? I had a fantastic time here the other night meeting my boyfriends dad. Jacky was trying to act modest, and ordered a «small plate», burrata + kale + sourdough, with a side of fries. His dad recommended the cod, which was what I really wanted but wasn’t sure if ordering the second-most-expensive thing on the menu was a good move for this first time meeting of The Parent. I did, and it was –_______– so (^^)delicious. We also got drinks — Pony Boy, Cinnamon Girl, Twiggy. X. x I was such a pleasant semi-drunk after this night! And I woke up feeling excellent. I ordered the first drink pretty much by pointing my finger to a random entry in the menu, but it ended up being my favorite. Looks like they have a room in the back one could throw a party in. The walls are decked out in photos of really hot teddy boys. Everyone who works there is really good looking, too. The service is really good!(=^x^=)

We will definitely be back to Pikey next time we have a little time before a show. We had a great experience in the bar, which wasn’t unbearably crowded on our Wednesday night visit. The décor and overall vibe is fun, with tons of things to look at, dark lightening, and tiny booths. I really enjoyed my drink, the Kate Moss, which is a glass of Pro Secco and shot of seasonal vodka. It felt like a good deal at $ 10 considering the location.

I love this place. I had a brunch with a friend. We loved the crumpet with honey. It was bomb! We ordered the English breakfast. It wasn’t a traditional English breakfast. But still very good. I would say it was a fancier version of an English breakfast. I enjoyed eating and chatting with my friend. I highly recommend this place!!!

This review is of their brunch. I hadn’t heard of this place before going. We went here after not wanting to wait in line for The Griddle. It looked pretty empty but the food is on par with most other brunch places in the area. Make sure to check-in to get a free mimosa or bloody mary. I had the full English breakfast. It was a good solid breakfast; not amazing but definitely worth the price and the no wait. It was much more food than some other trendier brunch places that serve three sausages and call that a meal, but not an overwhelming amount. Overall pretty good.

I’ve tried both breakfast and dinner here. Breakfast was incredible, dinner was just so so. Here are my thoughts on both: Breakfast: We had the lemon ricotta pancakes which were incredible! The British breakfast is huge and delicious. Also split the egg in the hole. The only thing that tasted like doo doo was their coffee. First I tried a latte(gross) then just a reg cup of coffee(also gross). The service was great as well as the atmosphere. Dinner: Loved the cheese platter, it’s a bit small but I still really enjoyed it. The burger was good. The sticky toffee dessert was also good. I didn’t have an alcoholic beverage but the ones I saw go out looked tasty. The atmosphere at night is pretty cool. They have 2 sides, one side is a bar w booth seating and the other is more of a restaurant. I’ll def be going back for brunch.

You MUST try the cheese plate. I know it sounds like simple or average, but you’ll love it!!! Hand made crackers and three types of cheese – blue, goat, and holland-type — all produced in CA in organic, free-cage, no cruelty farms! The ambiance is beyond amazing. One side is more restaurant-like, though you can also just do drinks there, while the other side is more like a pub. PLUS waiters are all hot hipsters!!!

Food was excellent. We ordered the romaine salad and oysters — oysters were fresh and ample sized. The salad was excellent, light with a lemon zest. Chicken and hard boiled egg with a liquid center was perfect. Drinks were great and reasonably priced.

3.5 stars Small bar British type café in Hollywood. Meant more for simple date nights out in town or a night out for drinks with a bunch of friends. Either way, its NOT a quiet environment so not a suitable environment if you are trying to have a quiet convo or business meeting :). Service was a –OK. We got what we needed, the check came when we asked, people were friendly. The food was slightly on the pricier side, but not bad tasting. I got the mushroom ravioli which was very tasty and rich in flavor, but did not come close to filling my tummy unfortunately. Hubs got the fish and chips which came with delicious fries and ONE piece of fish. Yep. only one battered & fried fish along with two strips of lettuce. We weren’t sure if the lettuce was his«salad» or just for decoration but we ate it bc we were still hungry. Given that both our dishes were around $ 17, I had expected to at least be somewhat full and content, but I wasn’t.

Came here after Saturday morning hike. Parking: Find street parking. Usually there’s plenty of parking on the side street. Service: We made a reservation beforehand so we were seated immediately. It wasn’t crowded on a Saturday. My food came out fast. Food: My mimosa was refreshing and my boyfriend’s blood mary was spicyyy! We ordered some oysters, crumpet with honey, Egg in the hole and Char-grilled burger. Everything was pretty good. Especially crumpet with honey! So sweet and soft. Oysters were fresh and my egg in the hole was flavorful… I would not order it again though because it was hard for me to taste everything together.(egg+bacon+bread but it was more like eating them separately) Burger was a bit heavy for brunch but it was good. The bun was so cute :) I ended my brunch with coffee. I’d go back and try their beer!

«Some hae meat and canna eat, And some wad eat that want it, But we hae meat and we can eat, And sae the Lord be thankit.» 25th of January is a celebrated day in my family — probably more than birthdays, christmas or any other holiday. This is Robert Burns Day ofcourse, aka the birthday of Scotland’s most beloved poet. He wrote a lot of songs and pieces that are still sung today probably the most famous being auld lang syne. Growing up, on this day my family would prepare haggis with neeps n tatties, which would be served accompanied by a single malt Scotch. We would have a formal ceremony with a gentleman in a kilt who would recite Burn’s poetry, address the dish and stab it with a knife. It was really something. This year however I am away from home so I found the only spot in the Los Angeles area serving haggis… The Pikey! If you don’t know what Haggis is, its a traditional sausage made in a sheeps stomach, containing sheep liver, lungs, and hearts. Sounds gross I know, but if you tried it I think you would be surprised! Though I think I was the only person eating haggis in the restaurant, kudos to the Pikey for catering to my culture and this long lost tradition!
