Way overpriced records and they don’t have any 45s. Staff seamed annoyed that i asked if they had 45s.

What don’t these people have? They work on instruments, they play instruments and if you need one, they will help you when you ask for some help. If you don’t like this place go to the mall/Guitar Center and buy your things. I love this store and will be buying my next guitar there. Fair prices and just the real deal.

Timewarp Music is one of the coolest places in Los Angeles BYFAR. So many instruments and interesting stuff. I could spend hours there, not to mention my whole paycheck, and get so much with it! And they have Timewarp Records across the street, again with so many records and some vintage home equipment, plus bands perform in the back, not to mention Fridays on Demolisten on KXLU88.9FM live remotes. Mix this in with the entire block having so many cool stores, like Soaptopia, Mar Vista Market, several cafes, Louie’s around the corner, and the bowling alley, and you could spend a whole day and night here!

Vintage gear at its finest! Fun to shop around in here. You’ll find a lot of stuff you couldn’t get anywhere else.

Time Warp is the BEST. Seriously. They have it. Whatever ‘it’ is, including parts, odds and ends, etc. They have it. Shane is the best. Super helpful, always cheerful, always willing to help, makes time for every customer. MOST of the other guys are cool as well. I will say that there is a complete TOAD working there named Chris. He’s not friendly, in fact he’s basically an a-hole to customers. He’s completely incompetent. Skip any and all interactions with this moron and you’ll be in really good shape at Time Warp.

I’ve known these guys for many years and they are incredibly knowledgable, they give very fair prices and also offer so much to the Venice music community. They set up all ages shows at both this store and their record shop across the street. They are friendly and ready to give you real information about the products you’re buying instead of just trying to say whatever sells. Also they provide an awesome collection of instruments and equipment old and new. This is a Venice landmark. If you’re a musician or music appreciator, you must check it out!

I thought maybe I came on the wrong day the first time I walked into the place. 6 months later, the same rude people«working» there. These heshers won’t acknowledge you when you walk in unless your cool enough. The place is a mess of old amps stacked on top of each other with cheap 80’s keys laying around. Nice guitars on the walls, but for the price you are better off getting of ebay or craigslist.

Came here ready to buy an amp and even considered buying a guitar, cash money. They had ZERO customers and I was never greeted or even acknowledged the entire 15 minutes I was there. I guess they were too busy setting up for their free all ages show that night… I hope they treat the next person that walks in better because this is the fastest way of going out of business that I know of. I won’t be coming back.

I have known Shane since 1996, long before he opened his store, he would bring his repairs to me, he was one of those guys who seemed to be able to sniff out great vintage equipment that sometimes needed a little help. I am so happy to see him successful in his business, and while he is low-key, I would NEVER typify him as an asshole as one reviewer did, on the contrary, I have watched him deal with wankers with great patience. If people treat you like a jerk on a regular basis, maybe you need to take a look in the mirror and see how YOU are coming across to people. When you consider a significant percentage pf people in a music store are dreamers, it becomes a little hard to spend a great deal of time with everyone who walks through the door. I applaud Shane for his initiative in putting himself out there.

You can find a lot of rare equipments here, Shane is very friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend Time Warp if you need to repair, sell or trade your gears, Oh you also can also rent them. I sold my old dj system in here and happy with the price.

Shane is a great guy, he makes time for every customer coming in. I have made various trades and purchases here over the last two years– always guarantees my satisfaction. If you’re a craiglist musical instrument section junkie– save yourself some time and head down to Timewarp. Leave all of the foreign made stuff at Guitar Center and get some quality vintage gear here!

Shane, the owner, is very good at doing what he does, which is essentially everything at this place. He’s fixed a couple amps, knows A LOT about most any kind of gear, always has a good price or willing to work things out with you for the right deal. I’ve gone in here for some strange requests, or requests that I’m frankly surprised can be met. i.e. Just called him for some lap steel legs, something that almost any music store will NOT have. Well, he has ‘em. Granted, I’ll be coming in with my lap steel to go through his arsenal of adjustable/misc. legs to find what fits with mine but hey, what other store could you go to that would be able to fulfill this question(maybe Marina Music, but then you have to contend with their moods. Ugh). Anyways, it’s a great place for amps that you normally wouldn’t see at other stores for a reasonable price. He’s a good dude as well as the people he hires. I’m a complete fan of this place. It’s also just a couple miles away from my home. Winning, all the way :-)

Legit shop, cool dudes, reasonable rates, tasty jams :) I needed to get a turntable repaired and they did it without a problem and for a decent price. They took a little bit to get back to me, but I appreciate their old school vibes and mellow tones. All in all great experience and I’d recommend them to anyone who needs anything classic, vintage, old school, retro, or the like :)

Shane’s awesome and so is his store. Even when he’s super busy he makes the time to give advice and wisdom about musical gear. He showed me his recording studio, in a very detailed and unrushed manner. I hope to use it some day. Timewarp music is a needed gem in our city and I will continue to support it.

This is a great vintage shop with tons of cool unique quality finds. Also if you have an amp or guitar break, Shane the owner can fix anything. I love just looking around this store… so many cool instruments.

A massive music store filled with timeless instruments, machines, vinyl and accessories. Shane(the owner) is a wizard and can build, break and fix anything. A great place to get lost and play around in or the place to go if you need an affordable repair and are short on time.

Usually a decent selection of pedals, some older stuff, some Electro-Harmonix boxes. Guitar cables for $ 25 that are pretty good. Some cool used guitars sometimes. Anything new is kind of overpriced. The DJ equipment is sufficient but you’re going to wind up spending $ 20-$ 40 more than you need to a lot as is often the case. If you need a mixer on short notice or some adapters or something, it’s good for that. Nice staff and some good sales. Overall not a bad place at all.
