Ume Sushi

Regardless of some of the reviews… Decided to give this place a try and I wasn’t pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious! Comes to show you can’t really trust all reviews on Unilocal

I think the rude waitress that everyone is talking about is gone? Its my third time here and service is excellent. And quality of fish is not bad at all. The oysters were really fresh too. If you’re expecting live fish to tap dance in your mouth goto urasawa in beverly hills, yeah but keep in mind they’ll charge you around $ 500. What i personally liked about this place is the really small amount of rice that came with the sushi, rice can really fill you up you know? No scams here, just good fish and good service.
Also, They bring you a hot pot of fresh green tea, Wash it down and eat more!

The sushi was very fresh and good. The rolls were really yummy and the rice was chewy and well proportioned. They give you big slices of sushi on the rolls. The nigiris were fresh and mouth watering. I actually can eat it without the sauce. For all you can eat sushi, their quality is pretty good. I am hooked on this place. Can’t find all you can eat sushi in the area.

Food is very good, price is reasonable, but I will give it 3 stars for the terrible service. The waitress has really bad attitude. She makes you feel very uncomfortable. We would ask questions about the menu and wow is incredible how much attitude she gives you, and the faces she makes while you are eating. This restaurant would have better rating if you they had a good waitress, they have good place and food but not good customer service.

I have been here three times dish was good but a waitress who has blonde hair she always served with angry face.
So i’m not gonna go back here.

A Japanese restaurant that actually plays Japanese Music Hits! This place is for all Nihon Fans Animé-​Manga i mean. We were welcome and Hey thats the entrance we hope in every Japanese restaurant, Dont you Love it too? We ordered as to start Miso soup «Great Tasty and Hot», Hot Green tea, Dumplings «a must have», Shishito peppers «not too spicy», and since it was our first time here well we decide to ordered the first two rolls they offer as great «Superman» & «Batman» yeah I know we laughed, How they choose those names? Well i can say they were Good. We had Two other Chef’s recommendations first raw fish and cucumber «Great Fresh Flavor» and second chicken wings –not looking for wings at the moment but Thanks-​. DECO is cool i have always Love those Japanese Curtains; «Ju» our server was Great and Attentive, he mentioned they were open just a few weeks ago. I have my doubts to come in when read those bad comments but hey those people also seem «CHEAP» since they spected a Four people meal for the price of One. And I stand against Bosses who Harass theyre employees so I Hope this owner is a great Person who treats everyone equally. Noone is Eternal Right… although i didn’t see any eel on the Menu but i didn’t ask to Ju neither. In other words Yes i will come back!

This place is great! The sushi was really good and super fresh. Good vibes. The best customer service. Food came out on time and owners are extremely welcoming. Definitely recommend this place!!!

Fish is not fresh! Some of the fish taste frozen! The service is also very poor and their is no front of the house system so the servers do not know which items were made and delivered to various tables. It just shows how poor management is!
For an all you can eat sushi joint, you would expect grander portions and sufficient sushi quality — yet you get neither.
I would not pay roughly $ 25/​person to dine here.
I would NOT recommend this place to any of my friends or any of you guys! Not worth your money. Go to Noshi Sushi a couple of blocks over — they have superb quality!

Worst food and service of my life.
Found hair in my food.
Plain cold rice.
Very worm bad quality fish.

I seriously think these 5 star reviews are misleading. So 3 of us go to eat here for christmas eve dinner. We ordered the classic sushi not the rolls.
All 3 of us find that the fish on the sushi were old.
The point of eating sushi is to eat fresh raw fish. The salmon. Tuna. Yellowtail were all stale.
Service was not bad but Never coming back here. You have been warned. Was waste of money.
Worst sushi i ate in my life.

I’m being generous with the two stars. I gave an additional star, only because one of the servers was very nice.
Good things about Ume:
1) Fish to rice ratio with their Nigiri is awesome. It’s almost like eating sashimi.
Bad things about Ume:
1) Menu states that it has specialty rolls, but it has no description of what is in the rolls. When you order specialty rolls, you would like to know what they have in them. One of the servers actually laughed when I asked what was in some of the rolls.
2) Fish is not fresh.
3) Poor service.
4) Just don’t go here.
If you really want good AYCE sushi, go to Sushi Ippo. I feel that Sushi Ippo is the best AYCE sushi place in town. Better than Midori Sushi and Zip Sushi. Sorry Ume, you got me excited but I sadly realized you were such a tease.

Great service. Sushi was fresh and sliced in good portion.
The sushi roll had large size of salmon and small amount of rice.
Specially Japanese style of ramen is great.

First time at Ume, all you can eat sushi. 1 star because appetizers were good but I came to a sushi restaurant to eat raw fish which was TOO fishy. I enjoyed the appetizers a lot more than the sushi.
The fish did not seem fresh… Again it is fishy.
Service is fine. Workers are nice. I’m pretty sure they are friendly but seemed unhappy.
They have shared small parking lot so parking is another.

I do not know why I came here… I guess I hoping that AYCE use same fish or at least similar fish as a regular sushi places that I usually go. wRONG!!!
Tuna– frozen tuna saku that has no taste at all
Yellowtail– old cheap quality cover with ponzu sauce cause its old …
Salmon– mushy soft… old…
I can go on and on about the quality that I had but it’s pointless…
The quality is worse than the market quality…
It’s not sushi grades its for cooking grade fish!
I will not be returning. I rather spend more money to enjoy my sushi with the service!

The owner of this restaurant is not normal.
He threw a hot bowl of Udon and cursing and yelling at the waitress in front of customers.
I wouldn’t go there again.

Quality of the fish is better than other ayce sushi places! With the sushi they give you really little rice which is incredible because I can taste for of the fish than the rice. The rolls are smaller portions which lets me try more different kinds of rolls. Good service and very clean area. Makes it a great place to come with friends and family.

Don’t go here. The owner threw a hot bowl of udon to a wall in front of his server and yelled at her for good 5 minutes only because she brought the bowl out without a serving tray. There were customers inside and one of them even asked him to calm down, but the owner didn’t care and continued to yell at the server using excessive profanity. Would you ever want to eat a place where employees are treated with disrespect and injustice? This is the same owner as Dan Sung Sa. So many other BETTER sushi places to go. Avoid at all cost.

Wow great menu!! all you can eat !!! Everything is so fresh especially sashimi. Very very clean and customer service is great. Definitely will be back for more.
