This is my park lol. Live 5 houses away for the last 25 years, blood sweat and teras have literally been poured there. This place is awesome, made me who i am. Its located in an aweso, e quiet great neighborhood with kods, everyone is usually nice except now this new neighborhood watch thing is going on and people are trying to take away from kid teams practicing there and being kods which is weird. But it has a full sand jungle gym set with swings, an awesome full court basketball court that actually the cover of nba live 05 or something was taken at the one with adam morrison on it. Great grass fields to chip golf balls, play football, and play soccer. This is my home and backyard hidden gem that i wish stays hidden lol.

(+) Usually not crowded! Wide open area that’s good for dogs & kids to run around (+) Full court for basketball, playground for kids, volleyball court Primary reason I go here is for soccer games so biggest issues are… (-) Grass is currently not maintained well or at all, patches of overgrown tall green grass surround the sprinkler locations and there are areas of just dirt(no grass). (-) Ground is very uneven, mounds and plenty of dips and holes so you have to be careful while running (-) Also be careful where you park, lots of big trees surround the park which may drip sap, leaves, even pine cones on your car. There is plenty of curb though.

A wonderful peaceful grassy park with a small hike up a steep hill.

Ah, the park of my childhood. My mom would take me and my little brother here nearly every weekend since it was so close to our house. Too bad we couldn’t hop our neighbor’s fence, scale down the hill and get to the park in 4 minutes. No, we had to take the long way around. That’s ok, more exercise is good. Plus, it just heightened the anticipation. I have many a fond, childhood memory here: Climbing 7 feet up a tree and thinking I was the king of the jungle Launching a model rocket from the grass when I was in middle school, with some friends who thought it was the coolest thing ever Climbing the hill and peering over the fence at the top into somebody’s backyard Making friends with a kid named Joseph who lived right next to the park Going really high on the swings Bringing our dogs here and seeing them go crazy Coming here with my grandfather and him making another kid pitch a softball to me for me to hit it Running across the jungle gym over and over, with infinite energy Park amenities: Full basketball court Concrete volleyball court, net not provided LOTS of grassy space to run around Drinking fountain Sand area with jungle gyms and swings Benches and trash bins, but no picnic tables No hiking trails. Just a small, climbable hill that overlooks backyards When we are kids, we see the world differently than when we grow up. For a kid, everything looks bigger, and rosier perhaps. That innocence is preserved in my memories of Viking Park. In a large sense, I don’t want to go back. I’d like to always remember it through my inner child’s eyes. My place of sanctuary, where all is wondrous, with never a bore or a care in the world.
