Pretty good spot for lunch. Hubby and I were passing through and couldn’t take another lunch at Black Bear. It was Super Bowl Sunday so there were only two other tables of customers. The service was excellent. Like, so good you feel nice having spent your money there. Turns out it’s family owned.
We both got bentos. Mine was chicken teriyaki and Cali roll. His was bulgogi, spicy tuna roll and Philli roll. Both of our meats could have been hotter, they were just warm. Miso was good– not watery. I’m open to stopping by again next time we drive through, but I’ll probably get their rolls next time.

Great fresh sushi. I was not expecting to see this in Los banos. Was a little surprised how fresh the fish was. Sonny made me s custom roll with all fresh fish. Fantastic. Ten I tried the omg roll, wow, they cut it fat here.

Omg! Do it! Eat here! At first we were skeptical, like a lot of ppl, about sushi in Los Banos… but it is so good. We had the dragon roll, ex boyfriend roll, Mexican roll, crunchy roll, miso soup, gyoza and seaweed salad… all amazing. Fresh, wonderful flavor, great service and the saki is great too.

I’m a little picky with my sushi restaurants, and I was very hesitant about a sushi place in central California, but I was extremely surprised!
The quality of the fish was fantastic, and the chef presented a beautiful array of sushi. There were many great options to choose from.
This will definitely be on my list of restaurants to come back to every time I visit Los Banos.

Food had flavor but temperature on food wasn’t sizzling hot. Portion size was little for price I paid for Korean Short Ribs.
Took my family there for the first time and won’t be back.

This place is great! We were in the area touring a wedding venue and they sent us to this little sushi spot. Awesome dishes, fabulous service and lots of variety. Everything was fresh and well presented. The wait time was minimal and the servers were helpful and seemed to be knowledgeable about the dishes offered. We plan on being in the area quite a bit and will definitely make this our «go to» spot.

We’ve passed by this place more than a dozen of times so we decided to finally try it, the atmosphere was up to date and it was very clean. Our server was wonderful, she was very helpful and polite (thank you Maya). Now the food was amazing we ordered the sugoi roll to start it wss a total of 8 pieces it was beautiful and flavorsome we also ordered a bento box chicken, spicy tuna roll, crunch roll, salad, miso soup, and steamed rice. I was very satisfied with the service and food. I’ll be back!

I was so excited to finally have sushi in town… I guess they’ve been open for a few months but they must’ve just put out the flags because we’ve never noticed it, Walking in I was impressed we were greeted promptly, the restaurant was clean and server was nice… That’s why I’m giving it 2… Because the food was not good I had sashimi tuna and spicy tuna roll my husband had the teriyaki salmon bento box and I my daughter had the teriyaki beef bowl (her food was pretty good) but ours… The tuna was previously frozen cut WAY to thick and had no flavor I couldn’t swallow it (I gagged) the miso soup was watered down… Even my husbands Salmon had no flavor except teriyaki, I’ve had better mall Sushi
I truly WISH I had a better experience
Note to owner: Fresh ingredients go along way

Very impressed with how clean and up to date the interior of the restaurant is and so glad there is a good sushi place in Los Banos finally!
I would recommend the lobster popcorn shrimp and the baked samon roll, they were quite tasty and that is what I am getting again today.

A great little Sushi spot. I was very impressed with this quality, service, and ambiance.
We were greeted by the chef upon entering and the service was very quick. Food presentation was very nice and sushi was fresh and delicious! Japanese/​Korean Pop plays in the background which gave the place some fun energy too. Will definitely be coming back for more.

My girlfriend and I decided to try Sugoi out. Sugoi is Japanese for amazing, and it was exactly that. The bento boxes were priced fairly and the dishes that accompanied it tasted delicious. The sushi tasted fresh and not frozen like most sushi places and the miso soup was exemplary. We were given the chef’s special (on the house) to compensate for our long waiting time, which I thought was really thoughtful of them. Service was great and attentive and I’m definitely going back for some more.

First things first, this isn’t a Chinese restaurant (no fried rice, sweet and sour pork, etc) — I thought I’d put that here because apparently lots of people have the wrong idea. This is primarily a Korean restaurant that also has udon and sushi and bento boxes. The restaurant is a nice addition to Los Banos, the sushi is very good and so is the teriyaki chicken and salad and tempura. The environment is a nice upgrade from restaurants like the Teriyaki House and the food is less greasy. In terms of some of the concerns raised by others regarding service, etc, I think those were just difficulties of a newly opened restaurant. When I went there for dinner there were four servers that were very attentive, and for the restaurant only have been open three weeks it’s natural that at first it had trouble. I recommend that people check it out, I’ve posted pictures of the menu and my meal!

My friend and I went here for lunch and we ordered the spicy ramen soup, I got the Bento special. We were served the Chef’s Special which was nice because it was on the house! The food was savory and generous. Service was great, waitresses were attentive and pretty cute. It’s so Sugoi!

From the outside, the place looks a little weird, not welcoming honestly I thought it looked a little ghetto.
But when you walk in its very spacious, very clean and definitely get that sushi place vibe. They were about 3 tables busy, so service was quick. Plenty of waitresses which is a plus so they didn’t keep us waiting. Menu has pictures of most food and very descriptive.; we got 4 rolls and they were very good. Food came quick. Miso soup was also very delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was «green tea ice cream» tasted cheap. Other than that everything was good and definitely will be coming back! Prices are decent as well.

My daughter wanted to try the new local sushi restaurant. When we arrived there was a open sign on the door but the hour of operation were 5 – 8, we arrived 10 minutes early. We assumed that since the sign said they were open, they opened a little early. Once inside the cook told us they were not yet open and next time we should «read the sign!» In rushing us out the door and trying to turn the open sign to closed he scratched my daughters arm! The food was pretty good. The waitresses were awesome! The only issue was the extremely rude cook!

The owner was really nice. He greeted us when we got there. The service was not good though. We had to wait about ten minutes before a server came over and asked if we wanted drinks. The waitresses were nice but they need a system, every waitress asked us if we had been helped yet. Also, they don’t serve wasabi and ginger with the sushi like EVERY OTHER sushi restaurant does. When we asked for wasabi, they gave us very little. We then asked for extra wasabi and never got it. The sushi was good but service definitely needs some improvement.
