Buyer beware. Julie may have changed, but based on past experience, she is not trustworthy. Here is a newspaper article:

Julie and her team designed our two bathrooms, which were in dire need of updating. We also had a strange problem with needing to move some walls in order to make our master bathroom more cohesive. Julie is confident and friendly. We sought out Julie’s help because we wanted to save time shopping to decide on a «look» for our bathrooms. We are folks who know what we don’t like, but we didn’t know exactly what we wanted, and Julie helped steer us in the right direction. Julie designed the bathrooms, and from the moment we saw the materials she picked for them, we were in love(Our realtor visited recently and said that our bathrooms are very«current.»). We had one unfortunate snafu with our hallway cabinet order. We just told Julie we trusted her, so we didn’t review the specifications or style of cabinets for our hallway, and when they arrived they were clearly too large for the space, and much too modern, but once we brought our concerns to Julie, she was able to help us reorder some parts for the cabinets that made them work out perfectly. Our design changed as the contractor realized some of the specifications she included in the plan were unrealistic(i.e., a door that swung open in a toilet room area, which would not be feasible based on the dimensions so we put in a pocket door instead), and the contractor ended up having to build our shower larger because in the sketched design by Design Matters, the vanity was sketched incorrectly making it look like it was a built-in verses a stand-alone piece of furniture. But I have to say, for us it was a learning opportunity for us; just because you hire a designer does not mean you’ll love everything they pick. It’s good to really stop and ask«do I like this?» Please double-check measurements. We don’t blame Julie for any of these issues. Some«mistakes» are bound to happen with projects this large. It’s also important to hire a contractor that will work well with Julie’s style. I don’t think it is an interior designer’s job to do all the project management for a project so please hire a contractor that has great project management skills like we did(i.e., we hired Eric with Tool Time construction, and he subcontracted some of the work to George at A California Home Construction), and with Julie and her team… and these contractors … we basically had the dream team of bathroom remodels. She and her team also picked out perfect color paints for our master bedroom, as well as the bathrooms. We’ve never lived in such a posh place before! Thank you Julie for holding our hands through this process. We love these bathrooms and hope you can get some photos up for future clients to see. Please ask Julie to see the photos of the Stuckey Dr. bathrooms as the designs are all her.
