This looks like a good place but there are no gluten free options, unless you want to pay $ 20 for a pile of lettuce. Really no excuse for that since we are in the Bay Area and in Los Gatos.

Food is good. Ambiance is also excellent — casual, good outdoor seating in the front(dog friendly). Recommend the breakfast club pizza($ 15). The arugula salad was also legit and fresh(strawberries and nuts gab the it a nice contrast). The poached eggs were decent — the most plain of the three items ordered, but it was what you’d expect from the menu(2 poached eggs on a slice of the toasted bread with 2 bacon slices and some sauce. The country potatoes were surprisingly tasty.

Best pizza I’ve ever had early. I try to come here at least one every couple weeks. The atmosphere and staff are always welcoming and they’re always super helpful to my two kids. You can order any pizza on the menu without the feeling of getting a lesser pie. The cocktails, appetizers, and pancakes on weekend mornings are also to die for.

The BF and I had to visit the Apple store on a Tuesday afternoon. Parking was crazy in this area and we had to park a few blocks down from the Apple Store. The Apple associate recommended Oak & Rye, so off we went. No wait, yay! We were greeted and seated almost immediately. We ordered: Coke(comes in the classic bottles) Water(come in a cute jar for you to refill your own water) Wild Arugula salad(delish!) Coach Goni Pizza. — this was the perfect size for two people(6 slices). The toppings tasted fresh and delicious. The dough was thin and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Perfecto! I really loved the décor and ambiance of the place. I would definitely come again!

My significant other absolutely loves this place. I think it’s pretty good, but I’m generally not too excited about the pizza toppings that they offer. I often am left feeling that I need more substance. That said, their crusts taste amazing, and their drinks are pretty darn good.

Help Me… I so want to go back and eat all their pizza’s. It is soo delicious and good. And their drinks was wow… Had date night here after bugging boyfriend many times to take me. Was super excited to go and was super excited to eat their pizza. Yum! We also ordered their steak with chimichurri sauce. I think the sauce is tasty but the steak is not as good as I had wanted it to be. Definitely stick with the pizza and drinks and dinner should be de-li-cimo

Delicious wood fire pizza! Each pizza can be shared with 2 people, and they come in 6 slices. My favorite was definitely the Margherita. The crust was light with a chewy texture. I liked how there was outdoor seating, which is great on a nice day. It is much quieter outside than inside the restaurant, so I’m glad we got the patio table. Overall, service was great. I’d definitely come back!

I used to consider pizza about some of the worst food on the planet, until the last several years has brought true gourmet pizza. Oak and Rye brings that quality pizza that doesn’t make you ashamed at what you just loaded in to your gut. The TMNT, Commissioner Gordon and the Coach Goni are truly delicious. The crust is perfect, just enough char and perfectly thin. A special treat you must try is the Shaved Brussel Sprouts, it’s to Live for. Amazing dish, they’re not like you mom’s. I always love chicken and waffles and this place hits it out of the park, the chicken is fried perfectly and the sweet syrup is such a great contrast. Try it.

Dropped by Oak & Rye for the pizza and meatballs. Unfortunately, the meatballs aren’t as good as Pizza Antica’s… by now, I’m pretty Pizza Antica has the BEST meatballs in NorCal. Gnocchi was rich, but tasty. Warning: VERYSMALLPORTION! Pizzas were good, but not mind-blowing in any kind of way; we ordered the Coach Goni with an egg and the Scotty 2 Hottie.(I think?) I’m convinced I could make better pizzas at home if I had a wood fire oven and 6 months of practice. Definitely worth trying out, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

Oak & Rye is a fantastic spot for Neopolitan pies in downtown Los Gatos. After thinking about it for a long time, I finally visited this past weekend and loved it. The décor is lovely — lots of Oak to complement the Rye at the bar, I assume. Ha. Very sleek/modern design, which I really liked. I didn’t use it, but I heard the bathroom is a little crazy. Next time… I ordered the Margherita pizza, since that’s always what I tend to get on the first time visiting a pizza place. My philosophy is that you have to make the basic right in order to make anything else. And boy, did they make it right! The crust had a nice chew(and char) to it, the sauce was perfect, and it had just the right amount of fresh mozzarella on top. I ate the whole thing a little too quickly. Since we came on the weekend, they also have two brunch pizza options. I tried a slice of my roommate’s «Breakfast Club» pizza, which was very good(but be warned, also very spicy). I really liked this spot. The menu is pretty small and it’s clear the pizza is the focus here. And they’re doing a great job.

Dear Oak & Rye, I still remember when I first time I took Catherine T. here on a date and I told her you guys had one of the best pizza’s in town so we had to go here. Surprisingly 2 years later, I’m still coming here at least once a month to get the same pizza which is the Scotty 2 Hottie. Your food, staff, and drinks is truly amazing. For food wise, the Scotty 2 Hottie is the winner. I would highly recommend you guys to get this pizza. If you guys like something that’s savory with a tinge of heat, you guys will enjoy this pizza. Scotty 2 Hottie is one of the main reason why I keep coming back here. The pizza contains sopressata, tim’s honey, & pepperoncini oil.(Don’t forget to add the egg for $ 2, and extra meat for another $ 3 if you guys want a little more protein.) For drink wise, I personally just tried their old fashioned but from what I see on the menu it looks like they have a variety of good cocktail which I should try soon. Notes: — They have an awesome patio outside if you like to sit outside on a nice sunny day. — No reservations for parties 10 or less. — Usually there’s a wait but it goes by fast. — Order the Scotty 2 Hottie. NOEXCUSES! I will be back.

Order the Gnocchi and it was 14 $. It’s in a ½ pint sized container filling about 1⁄3 the container maybe less. Extremely disappointed. First time in two years I’ve felt the need to review

Oak & Rye has recently become one of my favorite pizza place in South Bay. I was excited in trying this place out because I was told that their wood fired pizza is comparable to my darling, Vesta in Redwood City. Well, they are… somewhat. For one, they also have an interesting combination of drizzling honey in the pizzas(which is absolutely delish!). Second, the tapas food here, although a little less options, they are just as good. Lastly, this place is a whole lot closer to me than RWC ;). I would highly recommend their Scotty 2 Hottie($ 18). Not sure why they didn’t list it on the menu, but it is available upon request. They laden it with tomato, basil, mozzarella, sopressata, peperoncini oil, egg($ 2) and honey. I wasn’t overly fond of the bacon on my pizza, as they tasted too porky for my liking. Nonetheless, the whole contrast of sweet, spicy and savory works perfectly and it is to die for! I enjoy the ambiance as well, cute and has that charming cottage feels to it. Overall, a fun place for a casual pizza date. I will most definitely be back.

Nice ambiance, though the music is played a little loud for my taste. On a sunny day the outdoor seating is great — there isn’t quite so much white noise(music) and you can people watch in downtown Los Gatos. Lunch menu seems a bit limited IMO but the appetizers and pizza options looked interesting or sounded like they would be good. We ordered the Hot Wings, and they were so phenomenal that we stayed and tried their Margherita Pizza, Spicy Pork Meatballs, and Arugula Salad. So try the hot wings! :) Flavor of the Margherita Pizza was quite good, bit it was a little charred for my taste. We ordered it during happy hour, so for the price I thought it was a great choice. Would definitely be interested in trying some of their other pizza options. The arugula salad was also really yummy — fresh greens and super refreshing honey & golden balsamic vinaigrette evenly coating the ingredients. Blue cheese and almonds added great texture and the dried cherries added a delightful sweetness that offset the cheese and arugula. Only thing I didn’t like was the Spicy Meatballs. They were okay, but I thought they were very bland and unremarkable. On the recommendation of the bartender I also ordered the Altamont brown ale(from Livermore), since I like darker beers. A little hoppier than I expected but the taste and smoothness was a great pairing for the pizza and salad. Service was fantastic — everyone was really attentive and nice. Great recommendations on food and beer. Parking is street parking or the public lots. We came in the middle of the afternoon so it was easy to find parking but I’d be careful if you intend to come for dinner on a weekend or busy weeknight.

Late entry: 2nd visit in one week. And oh yes I did drive from Tha Dro to Los Gatos for pizza twice in a week. Here we go: I’m gonna start with P for perfection! I have not ever eaten a whole pizza in an hour. Oink damn oink. It beckoned me. Light crust, tasty toppings, not too heavy not too light just all kinds of yummy. This place seems rad for Los Gatos and I love it. Big dog lovers here to and succulents all over for a zen atmosphere. Waiters and chefs are super cool. It’s like someone dropped and Oakland restaurant smack dab in the middle of homogenous white bread town and it fits right in. Oak & Rye puts the cool in Los Gatos. This place has officially out the cat! Yummy! I’ll be there on Sat for lunch and I’m not even playin’-that’s how the dough rolls. Thanks R&O!

This restaurant is mainly pizza and alcohol. Nothing wrong with that! I think they change their menu frequently because I wanted the fried brussel sprouts and potato chips that I saw on Unilocal, but our waitress said they’re no longer on the menu. They have an alternative to the brussel sprouts(shaved brussel sprouts), but i didn’t know how I felt about it by seeing it in photos. We all ordered pizzas. I got the Coach Goni. Boyfriend with their pizza special of the night, Chuck Norris. Friend got Truffle Shuffle. They don’t allow some of the pizza options to have additional toppings added on. All three pizzas were flavorful and sooooo good. Thin crust pizza. Copious amounts of cheesy goodness. My friend’s truffle shuffle was sooo good. You could smell the greatness of the truffle from a mile away! I’m actually going to eat my leftovers today for lunch. We ordered cocktails… unfortunately, idk that names for any of them. Mine was some sort of mint mojito replica. My boyfriend got their house punch. And our friend got some other strong cocktail with whiskey in it and a lager on tap. I know, I’m not much help in that department. Nice, classy restaurant in downtown Los Gatos. I’d like to check out their happy hour. Their restroom is quite interesting. Check it out! I’ve never encountered a restaurant like that haha. I like it!

It did not meet our expectations, based on the reviews. I will say the pretzel with beer cheese sauce is incredible! Easily the best pretzel we have ever had. The tomato fennel soup was good. Completely lacked any hint of fennel, but still carried a nice balanced creamy flavor. The pizza was underwhelming. We ordered the margarita pizza… bland…the dough was super soggy. The cheese was mediocre and the sauce was dull. The chocolate cream dessert was excellent. A unique, creamy combination of chocolate, cream, and caramel. Overall I would come back for the pretzel and dessert. I would consider trying another pizza but who knows.

Wifey wanted to check this place out but we didn’t have much time for a full meal. Checked out a few drinks and some popular apps though. First, great selection of beers on draft, bottled and canned. I opted for their flux capacitor boiler maker which was actually a very good whiskey/beer pairing. I’d like to test out their other boiler makers on future visits. Since we were limited on time, we just tried a couple apps. Their shredded Brussels and the pretzel. Shredded Brussels: the fad right now seems to be fried or pan fried Brussels with a good amount of char and bacon. I actually love that combo but it seems everyone is already on that bandwagon. This place went the tangy route here which was a totally pleasant surprise that works really well. The Brussels are cooked lightly which is much healthier and retains their natural flavors and the shredded cheese just compliments their flavor very well. Good interpretation on Brussels sprouts. Pretzel: another well done interpretation of a very common dish. Outside was nicely crispy while the inside was very doughy and soft. The blue cheese and mustard that went with it weren’t overpowering and went well together. My only gripe is that it’s pricey for what you get. Yes it was done well, but what we really ate was a pretzel and Brussel sprouts for the cost of a full dish. That itself may prevent us from making this a regular spot and coming here only on a special occasion. But then if you get into the ‘special occasions’ category, might as well go all out and go to a fancier restaurant in the area. Just throw another pretzel on the plate and make everyone happy. That would cost them nothing.

Nomz on nomz. Came here on a Saturday night around 7. It was either a 45m wait for inside, or we could be seated outside immediately. We chose outside because we were hungry little monsters! The table outside(the one by its self on this elevated patio right by the kitchen) is AWESOME. I wasn’t cold at ALL(and it was 49 degrees outside) and actually had to take off my jacket! We ordered the gnocchi to start and 2 pizzas. Gnocchi: It’s definitely not an entrée, there are maybe 8 pieces in it. But we split it between two as an appetizer and it was perfect. The gnocchi were super soft and definitely pillow-like! Super nomz Margherita Pizza: Crust was perfection. Cheese ratio was on point, had that goodness on almost every bit! Woot woot! Commissioner Gordon: Also super delicious! LOVED the toasted sesame on the arugula! Love love LOVE the crust of their pizza!

Oak and Rye seems to disappoint more and more each time we go. The 1st time it was great, great food, drinks and staff. The 2nd time, the service was spotty, we were there for Happy Hour, but didn’t receive Happy Hour prices. Good thing some of us stayed sober enough to check the bill. Then two of the couples were charged twice on their cc statements. 3rd time, 4 of us for brunch… we sat at the bar and waited for our group to arrive. Greeted the bar tender who began telling us that he was stressed because people keep ordering bloody mary’s etc and he felt slammed. …Yikes, cause I want a spicy bloody mary!!! Ordered the Mary,…nothing spicy about it. He then remembered it was supposed to be spicy and told me how he had no hot sauce but should have made it with pepper infused vodka, showed it to me and told me to order that next time… OK Seated at our table, we ordered the Jalapeño Business Pizza… I don’t remember reading that blond hair came as an ingredient, but maybe I missed that part. We couldn’t get the staffs attention to tell them for a good 15 – 20 minutes. By that time we decided we would just order. I can ramble on and on and on… bacon was crisp in some spots, soggy in others, forget asking for a refill on coffee… all together the experience left us crossing Oak and Rye off of our brunch or any other place to eat lists. I enjoyed the food and drinks at one point, location and ambiance is nice. But it’s become just OK food and just OK service for at a Los Gatos price.
