I had just come from a less than pleasant tasting, maybe this helped?! Nonetheless, I was so pleased by my experience here. Great wines, super friendly and attentive service(wish I knew her name so I could throw her a compliment but she is from Iowa!!), and I left with a renewed happiness for wine tastings in this area. Make sure you check them out!

Visit #1(5⁄2015). The most delicious wines in the whole valley. For the Alexander & Win! Visit #2(7⁄2015). The most delicious wines in the whole valley. We were again helped by Nancy, who doesn’t APPEAR to be friendly– she kinda looks like the lady who won’t return your ball when it goes in her yard. BUT she is very nice and fun and helpful and genuinely informative.

I love this place! We signed up as members the first day we went. The staff are wonderful! Nancy is the best! And, of course, their wines are delicious! We only become members at wineries where we like their ENTIRE selection!

This remains one of two wineries I’ve remained a wine club member of over the last 8 years. Thanks Nancy and Art for sending me delicious wines every few months that are from your home to ours!

Update: ended up here again as it’s one of the few places open past 5pm. There was a different pourer and she was nice: nothing to complain about, nothing to rave about. Wines tasted good, but it was also our last stop so the taste buds may have been a bit«biased». =) Wouldn’t mind giving it another try. Updating the review score to the average of two experiences.(1 star &3 stars)

Love this place. Excellent red wines. Customer services is personal and helpful. It has moved across the street from it prior location with a larger tasting room. Our favorite red was the cab. Tasting was only $ 8 and came with the glass. Wine club is reasonable and well with the investment.

UPDATE: So I reduced this to 2 stars. I have to say, I still love the place. And the wines(when we were drinking there) were very good. However, after being a member for a while, we started receiving«corked» bottles.(This is where the cork bottom becomes almost like sand and the wine becomes contaminated.) In all fairness, contacted them and they sent out replacement bottles. Same problem. corked. Even took a video of me opening a new bottle and showing the cork and the contaminates. So when I contacted again, I was told that this winery was«. likely not for you.» :/That’s disappointing. Would I go back there if I was in Los Olivos again? Likely yes. Would I become a member again? No. Nancy was great. The whole staff was great. Even have a couple of signed bottles. But they’re already contaminated so not worth drinking. :( Kinda sad. As you can see from my initial review, I was a true fan! (Hint: If you get a chance, go to Hearst Ranch Winery. ABSOLUTELYAWESOME. And no, I don’t work there or have any affiliation. Just LOVE the place. And prices are comparable to A&W.) — — — This is what a wine tasting should be like. While I would love to have barstools — I have to say Nancy knows her stuff! And boy are these wines great! Leave your previous notions outside — take it from me. I was NOT a red wine person — at all. Heartburn the moment I had them. But this place changed my palette completely. Their Malbec is amazing. And if you like sweet wines, their desert wines are killer. Pricing is fantastic for what you get — no cost to join the club. And you get free tastings at their sister winery, just behind.(If you like Moscato’s, Arthur Earl’s is AMAZING.) Not snobby. Very inviting. Nancy is a bit«no-nonsense», and may come off a bit. hmm. not rough. just direct. But she’s a doll. Wonderful lady — spend some time with her and you’ll want to stick around and learn everything you can. She’s got some serious wine experience and knowledge. I have to say — we struck gold when we found this place. Mother-in-law went along, and came out a wine snob! LOL. Before, she’d drink anything red that was marked«wine». Now. she is so picky it’s hilarious. Do yourself a favor. Go here. You won’t regret it! Tell Nancy Lee from Orange County sent you.

Nothing remarkable here although our pourer Nancy was knowledgeable about wines and their background. The place was empty friday morning and we were the only two in the place. Nancy and Alexis were courteous.

I frequent this area and have several memberships with some of the local vineyards. I happened in here just out of curiosity on a weekend when I had more time and wanted to try some different stuff. However, as far as the quality of wines go, they leave much to be desired especially when compared to other tastings in the area. I found them quite unremarkable to say the least. I was initially excited to see a wide variety of wines on their list and since I was with a friend, we shared each of our runs and got to sample 10 of their wines. They have a Melbec and Merlot here which is unusual for this area which is heavy with Sauv Blancs and Syrahs. At best, their Sauv Blanc is drinkable, but only just. At worst, the Melbec was just off-putting and pungent; I’d describe the nose as rubbing alcohol. The reds they had sitting on the counter and were quite warm; I would say hovering around 80 degrees. That’s probably 15 to 20 degrees warmer than they should be. At one point, I asked pourer if the bottle was okay because it tasted ‘off’ to me. I was told that it was, but at no point did she taste it herself. I then started thinking that my palate and senses were shot from tasting all day, or maybe that I had had too much alcohol. However, to round out my day after visiting here, I went to one final place that I am a member of and everything there tasted wonderfully delicious as I remember. Does this mean that it was as terrible as I thought? Probably, but I will concede that it is possible that I am wrong. I usually give places a second chance, but with all of the other wonderful tasting rooms in this area, it will be hard to go back here. Unlike some other visitors to this room, I had a good experience with the staff and customers here. I had a good conversation and everyone remained civil when I started to criticize the wine a bit. It’s really a shame, the have a big tasting room on a prime spot here in Los Olivos. The bottom line recommendation: If it’s your first, second or third time in Los Olivos, there are much better choices in the area. Look elsewhere.

I’m a wine club member here, and their shipments are very reasonable(2 bottles every 4 months). I opt to pick-up rather than ship to LA as it gives us an excuse to swing by for a free tasting. I would consider pretty much everything here to be decent table wine, nothing really outstanding save for their Mille Delices and Arroyo Grande Pinot, both topping out at $ 45/bottle. At that price, I can certainly find better wine elsewhere, but then what would keep me coming back to Los Olivos? Oh, right — Sides Hardware. Go there. DOIT. Anyway, the staff here is usually friendly but don’t expect to rush in and out of here. Last time we spent over an hour chatting up the staff and other customers about all sorts of random topics, from wine to chocolate to geology and archaeology. You’ll enjoy your experience more the longer you take with each glass.

Loved this place, Natasha was very nice and the people there tasting with us were like family by the time we were done. We received free tasting here simply because we became wine members at their sister winery Arthur Earl. We are already planning another trip…

I’ve had a lot of wine from this area and I think there are better to be had around the valley and certainly from the tasting rooms in Los Olivos. I’d swirl elsewhere. They have a wide open, bright tasting room on the 154 side of Grand Ave in Los Olivos. For $ 8 you get to taste up to but no more than 5 of the wine options including a few whites, many reds and a couple of desserts. They make a lot of different styles unfortunately none of them all that great. They weren’t bad but only made me return for a second sip perfunctorily to make sure I had tasted them right on first sip. This included a pinot, a couple cabs, a malbec and the only wine that I found interesting a quasi-rose made from mixing chardonnay and syrah. I think you’ll find better elsewhere.

Nice large tasting room, $ 8⁄5 tastes. Had a nice 2006 Cab Sauv, smooth and fruit forward highly recommend! Also, their Port made with Zin grapes was very nice for purchase at $ 17.50. The wine they pour has already had time to age a few years. Nice.

Stopped by after vintners festival last week and it was packed. It’s always a treat to stop in and do a tasting at Alexander & Wayne. Cuvée HM and Zinfandel wines are our favorites. Definitely don’t miss.

First time to Los Olivos(I’m a wine club member at three wineries in Temecula). This was our second stop after Saaloos and Sons(OMG…fantasitc place, see my review) Poor poor Alexander and sons. When we walked in there was another couple standing at the counter and no one else in sight. NOONE, no employees, nothing. We waited and joked about no one being there to help us for a few minutes. No one showed up so we left to go have lunch at Panino(see review). After about half an hour we went back, which was a huge mistake. Again, one other couple and no one in sight. WTH?! Finally, an older woman appeared and didn’t seem to eager to want to pour for us. The other couple left and three others walked in. The one employee didn’t seem to manage her time with any of us well. It took me about five minutes just to get the glass from her so we could start tasting. I’ve never in my life poured out a taste, EVER that’s just sacrilege. After a tiny sip of all 5 wines, I HAD to pour each one out, they were that BAD. I couldn’t even muster up the courage to take two sips. The other couple across from us bought three bottles(they must have been drunk… you know the point where you’ve been to like five tastings and ALL the wine you taste is fabulous at that point). Oh, and the décor was so ugly. Not welcoming at all. I felt like I was walking into an office which was in a trailer. There were boxes to be seen behind in this office area, ugly decorations and bland color scheme. Poor service, ugly tasting room, and horrible wine. Don’t waste your money. Oh and if you bought a bottle of wine, you got a free tasting coupon for their sister tasting room. Can’t imagine their wines are any better.
