Bought some cute Halloween decorations here… Also can’t stop thinking about a head planter I should have bought! Worth a trip if you are in town or passing by.

I’m obsessed with all the mini figurines in this store. The huge variety of plants, planters, water features, and home décor amaze me each time I visit. And the owners and employees are always super helpful and friendly. We always have to stop here when we’re in the area!

What a fantastic store! The inventory here is simply remarkable — so much fun, so much«stuff» — we didn’t know where to start first. This actually was a highlight of our trip to the Santa Ynez wine country, which is ironic, given that it has nothing to do with wine. We bought fairy garden items, we bought ceramic chickens, we bought succulents — we could have bought a lot more! Don’t miss this!

My mom had called ahead and prepared succulent arrangement to be delievered to my work on my birthday, which is about a mile and a half away from J. Woeste. I spoke to her on the night of my birthday and she asked how I liked my «surprise»… but I had not received it. She called the next day to figure out what had happened and it turned out the delivery man had«forgotten» to deliver my arragengement. The guy that took the order said he passed my work every day and it would be no problem, but apparently it had slipped someone’s mind. The arrangement is beautiful– succulents in a terracota vase with little rock owls. Unfortunately the surprise was ruined and it was a day late. I was a bit disappointed this happened, but I love the arrangement. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes and don’t ruin any other birthday surprises!

We stopped in Los Olivos for lunch at Sides Hardware and Shoes(great food) and saw this wonderful garden shop down the street. Two things stood out for me: the giant wind chimes and the very creative metal sculptures. The wind chimes are hanging from a huge tree and the largest of them has tubes I estimate at 8 feet in length. The tones are so low that you feel them rather than hear them. The metal sculptures are very nicely done with that great rust patina. Add in the potted succulents, garden gnomes, and ceramics and there is enough here to keep you busy for an afternoon of whimsy. Why not 5 stars? The prices, after all it is Los Olivos.

What an adorable little home and garden store in the hear of Los Olivos’ famous main street, filled with wineries, lunch places and great little artisan stores. They have many different themes for any type of garden you may have. From asian, to gnome, to owls, to buddha, to pets, angels and cute veggies, they have the cutest garden décor!

The gardens here are so inspiring! They are colorful, creative, all shapes and sizes, and every one of them brings a smile to your face. I always visit when I’m in the area and little by little, I try to bring a little of the fairy tale home with me! My blog post is here:

This place is amazing. I have no idea why I have not been in here before… I mean the entire outside is filled with succulents! I pretty much thought I died and went to heaven. Ok so I know why I haven’t stopped by here before. It is probably because when I am in this little town I am cruising for wine. Either way, I really wish I had seen this place before. The outside garden area is beautiful. There are little paths that weave in and out of all kinds of cool plants and sculptures. If you like to garden then you will love this place. I only went inside to pay, but it looks like there is all kinds of quirky stuff in there too. I Something else to add to the list of things to do while visiting Los Olivos.

Love the chickens, succulent arrangements and garden tschtokes!!! This is one of THE best places to shop in Santa Barbara county. Listen, I’m a jaded customer. I sell luxury goods and nothing makes my panties melt like a well curated garden place. This place was better than chocolate.

Really cute shop in the middle of tons of wine tasting places. We were driving through Los Olivos and I was looking for some shops to do some window shopping and stretch our legs. Well there wasn’t much else around besides lots of wine tasting and we were wined out. J. Woeste is so cute! Love all the succulents and garden stuff. Things are a bit pricey but I did end up getting a few things for my garden. Staff is friendly and helpful. Would definitely come back next time we are driving to central cali.

I am not a person that uses the term«zen» but that is how I would describe my visit– experience at J Woeste. From the moment you enter the front yard(the business is in a house and in the garden of the house) and hear the amazing deep bong of the wind chimes to your very last steps through the huge back garden you feel an overwhelming peace. There are tons of wonderful garden ornaments and fountains and perfect gift items throughout the house and in both the front and back yard. This is a not to be missed stop if you are in Los Olivos. J Woeste perfectly reflects the charm and energy of the town.

You can wine taste any day, but you cannot miss this wonderful nursery in Los Olivos. It is one of the most interesting and charming nurseries I have ever been to… it has made me a fan of succulents. Wonderful stop for yourself or to pick up a gift.

Really beautiful, large selection of garden items, with a smaller selection of home items and greeting cards. The whole place is well curated. There’s a reiki studio and a chicken coop on the property as well.

Was drawn in by the ginormous wind chime in the tree out front. We walked in and the garden was absolutely charming, full of water fountains and tons of succulent creations — as in little pots of succulent plants. :) Being a terrarium fan myself, I loved all the various little creations, esp the ones with the little ceramic animals. Gorgeous and peaceful. Dog friendly too.

Been going to this place for many, many years. Still like it, even though it seems everyone has discovered it’s sweet quaintness. A bit pricey, but as someone else said, you pick up inspiration for free. Owners dogs are cute, but portions of the cottage inside are a little… ahem…stinky. Accidents happen.

I had to drop a line on this place since I’m doing research for a story and saw it only had two reviews! It’s pretty fabulous, with a beautifully restored old home full of nice home and garden gifts, but really that kind of a spot can be found in many cute towns, right? Instead, it’s the backyard/garden that totally rocks and that pushes this spot over into 5 star territory. It’s filled with gorgeous fountains and garden sculptures, many of which are irreverent/attractive, like the stone rats I saw there with little messages on them(trust me they’re really cute, and make you laugh out loud). It’s the kind of setting that makes you want to have a garden, or move to the English countryside stat. Totally worth checking out if you’re in the area.
