These folks are excellent. They’re a local family who really care about doing a good job for a fair price and contributing to the community. My teen daughter was looking to buy a new bike for herself and had initially planned to buy one at Target. But when we stopped by Baywood Cyclery to see what they had, their customer service and personal attention were undeniable. (3 free tune ups on bikes purchased there!) She bought her bike here and has been very happy with the bike and their service. They’re also a donation location for a local charity collecting items for families in need during the holidays.

Luke went out of his way to help us when my wife wanted to turn her 30 year old bike into a single speed beater. There was no judgment or turned up of noses. What a great shop and awesome guys. We spent $ 20 for parts and left with $ 100 worth of help and information. Next time we buy a bike or need service we will definitely go to Baywood Cyclery.

Luke is awesome! I am a weekend warrior mountain biker and was able to have a very knowledgeable conversation with Luke. He does not look down on you just because you don’t know every detail about the most expensive bikes… I look forward to trying out the demo bikes and eventually buying the right bike for me. Thanks for the help Luke!!!

I’m on a five month car road trip with my bike. In New Mexico I put green slime in my tires to protect for the stickers that make REI sales of the stuff number 1 in the nation. Even-​though I was told how to inflate the tires with the slime in it, one of the tires seemed to squirt on inflation, which concerned me.
I dropped into Baywood Cyclery this morning and Luke was great. He reassured me, told me a pitfall of green slime I hadn’t been informed about and inflated my tires with me, no charge. Much thanks to Luke.
BTW, no one asked me to write this review.

Just got my old beach cruiser back from Luke at Baywood Bike Shop. Luke brought it back to like with new wheels, forks, chain, really an entire overhaul. He did a great job and it was awesome to get the old cruiser back and to now be able to ride it with my son.

San Luis Obispo, CA
All other bicycle shops will do a tune-​up in one to two days tops. Here, they tell you a week, and then they take a couple days longer on top of that. This has happened to me twice now.
Other than that, they are friendly and the work they do is decent. They have a really cool dog too.

Wonderful bike shop! Luke, the shop owner, helped me out on my pacific coast bike trip, made sure our bikes were worked on that day so our trip wasn’t delayed. He had all the parts we needed, answered my phone call to the shop before it was even open, and got the work done very quickly. He even recommended a good restaurant for us, let us use the bike pump, and generally went above and beyond what would be expected of a bike shop. Sweet selection of bikes there too, I was drooling.
Great shop, friendly people, skilled repair, sexy lookin’ bicycles.
