My experience in Albuquerque is this: Small business [still] reigns king. It means buying local, devotion to community, all the pleasantries that give you the feels. It remains a big city in the Southwest while holding on to the small town values and elaborate history. If you live here, you know. For those of us who don’t, but use Unilocal to get around a new place, Weck’s is were you’ll land. Us Unilocalies don’t do the big chains(they will go nameless in this review). We’re determined to find the reasons to support the little man, or in Duke City, the big man. It’s okay, you dig? My boyfriend had been to Weck’s before suggesting we give it a try. I heard«big pancake» and was intrigued. «That sounds good.» Alright, so the restaurant itself is pretty big, laid out for parties big and small. We didn’t wait very long to be seated and our waitress was super sweet! Sass and personality to boot, she made eating here pleasant. Points for service. For breakfast, I had two over easy eggs, hash browns, and sourdough toast. Can’t beat it. Bf ordered the same with a sausage patty and pancake. Enough, if not plenty for the both of us. I don’t know why I’m still surprised at the option of chile. This really is a thing, you know? I am not from here, but the more I visit — I’ve decided green chile is my favorite. The red is good here. Rich. Everything was awesome! As I ate and looked around, I could imagine this place filled to the brim on the weekends. We were there on a weekday morning, so there were a couple groups. Weck’s on fourth is so good, so nice, so «yum», and yeah, so Five!
