My friends and I were so excited to get to the castle. We were not disappointed! The drive up to the castle was gorgeous! When we arrived, the lady in the lobby was so friendly and helpful with info on food, our ghost walk, etc. Our room was just gorgeous. I truly felt like royalty. I personally didn’t eat in the restaurant, others were commenting and saying it was delicious. Unfortunately, we were only there for 1 night. I will definitely be back!

Our king bed was super comfy, the sofa sleeper– not so much. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:30, it had closed at 8. By the way, down the road we arrived at the Mohican ropes course at 6:30, it had closed at 6. The band was loud, fortunately our room was on the opposite side of the castle from the band. In my opinion it would have been nicer to have a smaller, quieter music group, classy lights and groupings of tables and chairs, and yummy food and drink available for purchase.

Celebrated my parents 50th anniversary there over the valentine weekend. The food was excellent! Large portions, and timely service. They even thought to have a gift table nearby for us to set presents on. We had three servers for a table of 10.

In the winter months, I really recommend AWD or 4×4 to get here. This place is in the middle of hilly forests and the hill to get up the driveway is pretty steep. We were coming after work, so it was dark and the snow had blown over the signs directing us to the check-in, so finding the front desk area was a little frustrating at night. The grounds(we came over Valentines weekend) are very beautiful. The snow blanketed everything and it was gorgeous! But be prepared to do a lot of walking up and down hills and stair climbing! Definitely not for the faint of heart. Keep this in mind when deciding to bring that extra suitcase as YOU will be responsible for carrying your own luggage to your room, which is more than likely up at least 1 – 2 flights of stairs! Our beautiful room, #10, the Miller Suite was up in the Hickory Tower, which was shared with one other suite. The room itself was very cool, it had it’s own semi-private balcony, it had a kitchenette(sink, microwave, mini fridge and coffee maker), bathroom with walk-in shower and another room with just a jacuzzi tub. Both the bathroom and tub room had heated tile floors. It had a living room area with a 32 inch TV that had satellite tv, a sitting chair and a full sofa with pull-out bed. There was a snow storm during our stay, and it was fabulous to be «snowed in» with my husband and have a warm cozy fire and a movie on tv! However… we had a grand total of 9 light bulbs that were blown. So our room was VERY dark.(We actually had to use the flashlight on our phones to use the cd player.) When we brought this up to the woman attending the front desk Saturday morning at breakfast, we were informed that they *could* change those, but«it would take a while because someone would have to come up with a ladder and replace them.» So out of frustration of having to walk around our room with flashlights, my husband just asked for the lightbulbs and he would change them himself. So out of 9 blown lights, we were only given 4 new bulbs. Which he had to stand on the furniture to replace himself as they were 8 – 9 ft in the air near the ceiling. The staff was decent enough, but we called the front desk a few times and nobody answered. The soda in our mini-bar fridge was never replenished, after we drank all our coffee the first day, it was never replaced. We called the front desk and asked for cream and sugar for the coffee and you would have thought we were speaking Latin. But a woman did end up bringing some up.(Bring your own coffee and creamer!) With it being the dead of winter, a lot of sidewalk salt was tracked into our room. We were unable to find a broom to sweep it up ourselves, so we hoped would be at least swept up by housekeeping the second day. No luck. So had to wear shoes the entire time, as stepping on rock salt in your bare feet is not ideal. The comforter and furniture were stained and worn, the buttons in the jacuzzi tub were broken/missing, the shower sprayer hose was broken, the wood floors were badly scratched etc. Several maintenance things that could have easily been remedied, but appeared to be overlooked. My sister and her fiancée were also staying on the property and their room also had maintenance issues and many blown lights. Also, there is no longer a pool or a hot tub on the grounds which was a disappointment. Despite the negatives, we did have a wonderful time together! We would return again, however we felt like the quality was not on par with the price tag of $ 300 per night. We will keep our eyes peeled for discounts for any future stays.

My husband and I just returned from our wedding weekend at the castle. The entire experience was wonderful, and more than I could have ever asked for. Melody, the event planner, went above and beyond to help me realize my vision for our wedding, and and assisted me whenever I needed it. When we arrived at the castle on Friday we were able to get in, decorate our space, and touch base with everyone. Check in to our room went smoothly, and the room itself, the Gale Suite, was phenomenal. It was the perfect room for our«honeymoon» the night of the wedding. House keeping was available, and attentive to our needs, as we had people coming in and out of the room getting ready for the big day. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained, our guests were blown away by the scenic views of the castle. My new husband and I can’t wait to return to the castle for anniversaries or getaways with friends throughout the year. Thank you Landoll’s Mohican Castle for helping my dreams come true!

I’ve never actually stayed here but I have eaten in their restaurant several times and toured the site on man occasions. It’s a little pricey vs some of the other accommodations in the area, but by far the most unique. I usually ride people up here on my golf cart to show them the castle when they visit me at the campground. They sell a blueberry citrus jelly that is amazing, you can get a small jar in the restaurant for about $ 5.

WOW! I had NO idea OHIO had anything like this, but when I heard about it, I KNEW we had to check it out! What an awesome castle in the middle of LOUDONVILLE, OHIO! We stayed in The Lawrence Suite, which was just stunning and ooooozing romance! It had tons of woodwork, fireplace, beautiful bathroom and a huge cozy bed! I mean the kind of bed you get lost in. It’s really ridiculous. The service was great. They had a nice restaurant with great views of the surrounding landscape. They had great room service too! Need wine for this romantic trip? YEP, they can bring that! You don’t even have to leave your room to have the perfect experience at Landoll’s Mohican Castle, but they have access to plenty of hiking, antique shops and Amish Furniture. This is the perfect place to get away for the weekend and it doesn’t even have to be a long weekend to really enjoy yourself. They can accomodate weddings, banquets and large conferenes too! Landoll’s Mohican Castle is a gem!
