I’ve been thinking over getting a private pilot’s license (or light sport) so I did the discovery flight (I forget exactly what it’s called). Honestly, it was an all around amazing experience.
The CFI, Rich, explained the physics behind flying and explained what to expect. The preflight check had already been done so after the brief intro (it was at least 30 minutes, I asked some questions too) we walked out onto the field and got in the plane (it was the Cessna 172).
The flight was great, I got to apply the pedals on the runway during the taxi (not during take off) and I got to take the controls in air. I didn’t do too much with the controls only because I was a little clumsy with the pedals on the ground.
I highly recommend either the intro flight or one of their tours. I was a lot of fun. If I don’t do the private pilot’s training I’ll definitely go back for a tour.
