The food was better than average for pub food. My main complaint was that it was dark in the bar for an afternoon. Had very little lighting.

Beer is good(alt is awesome) food is good bar food, but they don’t play local games at the bar, in this case the Louisville game during the NCAA tournament. There are TVs around in the dining area playing it but it is not playing at the bar because another game is on. Maryland or West VA or something. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen that before, especially since you can see the Yum! center(where the Louisville basketball team plays) outside the window…

Slow service. Overpriced desserts. I don’t really know what to say, except that we must have come on an off night. Maybe it’s because I didn’t come for the beer(what???), but I just felt like the place was. .. lacking. The server was bored, the food was bland, the place was emptyish, and I kept thinking about the other places. Another review said that BBC’s clientele only care about beer, so if that’s you, realize that I’m only commenting on the food and the service(and drink the beer first – everything looks and seems better when you’re drinking, amiright?)

Great Beer with Horrible Service. Bottom line go some place else. Bison Burger was pre made and frozen and the Chicken Picatta was served with Pink chicken. At least the flies at our indoor booth enjoyed it. If you just want a good brew stop by. If you want food just pick another place.

I want to make sure that this place gets all the positive feedback that it so deserves. I believe I underrated my last review — especially after enjoying a stop by here during the Tap That Craft crawl. They took plenty of time to walk us around the brewery, gave us the ins and outs and were more than happy to fill up our growlers with delicious saison for a steal! On a normal night this place is perfect for doing just what it calls for… getting a beer on tap. They make it right in the huge space behind the bar(you know, when they aren’t playing pingpong, or admiring the enormous Last Supper painting — both sorta true), so you know it is fresh as it’s gonna get. But these guys are the opposite of what the other BBC restaurants are — and apparently unaffiliated(this is not confirmed, can someone confirm this?). This place is all about solid beer, relaxing atmosphere, a nice chat, and quite a few regulars. Honestly, I read a bunch of the reviews and I think people may not know it is here because I think they are reviewing the other BBC downtown(that has food). Check this place out on a night you just want to kick back(to this point, my first review still stands absolutely true).

If you just want a great, cold beer on a Friday night in a chill location, then BBC Tap Room is the spot! It is a completely different atmosphere from the other BBC’s but they have the same delicious beer. The Tap Room is basically one room with a bar and a few bar tables, some darts, TV’s, and background music. It is very casual and the bartender is rather quiet, but very cool and always remembers my name and what I like to drink. He even gave my husband and me a tour of the brewery and I touched the lovely barrel that is home to my favorite beer. They don’t serve food with the exception of yummy beer cheese and pretzels. My go to beer is Bourbon Barrel Stout in the fall and winter and Bourbon Barrel Ale now that the temperature has warmed up. If you are not sure what you want, you can always do a tasting.

The people who come here have one thing on their minds: beer. And it’s a great common bond. On my most recent trip, bikers with long beards sat near guys in business casual. Some sat in groups and heartedly laughed while other people felt like being alone. And that’s OK because they are all equals at the Tap Room, enjoying the local brews. The Tap Room does not serve food, and it can be closed unexpectedly. But it’s worth spending some time here. You’ll feel like a regular and like someone in the know after one visit. And one plus is that you can bring in outside food, and another is that you can rent it out at pretty reasonable rates. You can bring other people into the fold that is the Tap Room.

The tap room is a cozy little place with friendly faces. It does have a very limited draft list compared to what BBC brews, but pints are cheap! Hours can be a little sporadic, so don’t be too disheartened if you find it closed. You can always swing by the restaurant downtown, but if you’re looking for a quietter conversation, this is the place. No foods are served, but there are plenty of places close by. If you like BBC beer, give it a try. If not, keep on trucking. Cheers!

This place is pretty good, even for a vegetarian. I have been here for a few work lunches. It’s great. The servers are friendly. I like the spinach burger. The atmosphere is light and comfortable, even upstairs. I don’t think it’s good enough to drive to during an evening, but it’s good for lunch.

Though it’s downtown, BBC Tap Room feels like it’s a neighborhood joint where there’s a clear set of regulars. But the folks lining the bar and scattered around at the various small clusters of seating don’t appear like an archetypal set of bar regulars that do nothing but breathe and drink beer. This location has won me over in comparison to the others that I’ve been to because of it’s relaxed atmosphere, more intimate size and its numerous happy hour specials. They don’t have food, but they have started selling a bag of pretzels and Valu Market’s beer cheese for $ 6 and they also welcome anyone to order their own food and chow down. They’re gonna be starting back up a running group(not sure of those dates) and even starting a yoga class a few times a month on Saturdays. I don’t know why the idea of doing yoga in a brewery/bar is appealing to me(I have a feeling my yoga teacher might find it out of place with her practice) but I can’t deny that it is and I’ll be there.

Meh. I was super excited about coming here and talked a girlfriend into going with me one night after we finished up a «thing». We both needed some unwinding and I knew this place was down the street. The décor is strange and the bartender was stranger. He didn’t have a facial expression. We call this a Flat Affect. It was strange to have a bartender like this and kind of uncomfortable. When asked a question about a beer, he just shrugged. Again, strange. Anywhoo, we ordered our beer and sat to talk. As we were talking, he turned up the music! There were like 4 people in this place and the TV was on and wer were in the corner talking. I was like WTF?! So, I can honestly say I won’t go back. Oh well.

I have become a bit of a BBC fan over the past few years, so I was excited when I heard they had a new location near the YUM center. I couldn’t wait to try it. I’m glad I did. The place itself is nothing too special, really like most basement bars really. A bit nicer maybe. I didn’t come for the location, though. I came for beer and food. The BBC’s beer was on full display, and I had the sampler, which was nice. For dinner, I had their KY Proud Steak burger, BBC Bluegrass style. I highly recommend it. Bluegrass style is pimento cheese, country ham, tobacco onions and a fried green tomato. It was awesome. I will definitely visit again. Yum.

Ordered the Bourbon Barrel Stout, it was excellent. The waiter suggested the fish platter, so my wife and I both went with that. They needed a boat to bring the large portion of fish, and the garlic fries was a nice twist. The slaw was a little bland.

Keep in mind this place ONLYHASBEER. If you like good beer you will be glad you went. I don’t really like BBC’s other locations very much unless I am getting a beer on the run. The Tap Room on the other hand is somewhere I can spend some time. It’s usually chill, as long as there isn’t a trolly hop. They have comfortable seating, a nice bar, dart boards and lots of cool things to look at. Old beer memorabilia from the past adorns their walls, and they will have the games on their TVs if there is something worth watching. * $ 5.25 Tuesday Growler Fill deal can’t be beat! There is nowhere in town that I know of that comes close, and I give BBC a lot of credit for keeping their price down on this. I deduct one star because of a weird clientele base that is sometimes annoying, and because I wish they just served some chips or pretzels or something. They have popcorn at times but it isn’t even good popcorn. If you only want beer and it’s a good night, the Tap Room can hit the 5 star level no doubt. If I could I would give it a 4.75 star, but like The Price is Right I don’t overbid.

$ 2.25 pints on Thursdays. The crowd is a bit weird — lots of older men in business casual attire drinking by themselves to avoid going home to the wife and kids they resent. But $ 2.25. Two federal reserve notes plus one quarter will put a pint of the city’s best craft microbrew in your hand. And it’s at its freshest too, since the brewing plant is around back, vat to glass!

Great People Watching Venue. This place always has a strong beer selection and classic healthier pub food. Since it is located near the Yum Center, Hotels, and Fourth Street, you can get a good night of people watching in. The place is pretty clean with good service. There is nothing really else that stands out. Like some of the reviews have said, there are too many BBC’s to count, and they all have different vibes. Grab a post show bite and cocktail for a reasonable price.

Happened to stumble into this BBC on the First Friday Trolley hop. Having no concrete plans for the week, the friendly patrons and bartender heaped on the advice for day-trips and area events. Coupled with the super-reasonable(and pretty good) beer, this is the sort of place you want to be a regular at even if you live 300 miles away.
