Monday is always a treat, so was the nitro Porter. Come in early to have shorter dinner wait time, no problem, I had two growers to fill. Our dinners were good and everything as expected. Our fish and chicken cordon bleu were good and will try bison burger and something else next. Be aware the menu prices are currently two bucks more than shown on line for most items. Service provided the right amount of attention.

Love, love, love. I’ve eaten here many a time, and I grieve the loss of proximity to this establishment, due to moving away from Crescent Hill. Most everything is locally sourced. Excellent selection of beer, all of which are regional, being either from Kentucky or Indiana. Tongue tantalizing nom noms. They also have a nice bourbon selection and I believe a few wines. One time I ordered the burger, and I swear that it was so fresh that I could taste the grass the cow ate and the sun that shone on it’s happy hide. It was definitely a happy cow, cause I was a super happy girl when I ate that burger. I’ve also had the mussels, the griddled cheese sandwich, the tomato soup, and many other delectable dishes. Oh! Oh!!! I almost forgot my favorite appetizer… which I just checked their menu and it appears they stopped making it. Rude. It was crostini covered in goat cheese, arugula, candied pecans(or walnuts), roasted cherry tomatoes, and bacon jam. Yes, you read that right, BACONJAM. The two most addictive food ingredients known to man combined into one beautiful condiment, bacon and sugar, bacon jam. Also, the service is usually spot on and friendly.

Love this place. Local ingredients. Constantly changing menu based off of what’s fresh and in season. Massive craft beer list. Sadly, I have never had the chance to try any specials because they sell out so fast. We had the wings during our last visit. Very good value. We expected 6 or so wings and received 12. The pimento cheese ranch was to die for! There is a small patio out back where you can also eat. Unfortunately the place can get quite loud. If that bothers you, I would ask to sit in the very back. Worth a try :)

This place is close to my apartment, so it’s always a nice option to wak to. They don’t take reservations, but the service has always been fantatic. They have great drinks and food and an extensive beer list. My favorite thing on the menu is the chicken and dumplings, which only come as an appetizer, but they’re so good.

My friends and I rented a house around the corner from here, so we ended up here 3x in 4 days. The burger was good. The fried chicken was the best thing I ate the entire trip. Mac n cheese and broccoli salad were also good. The only downside on the food was charging $ 4 for French fries in addition to my $ 14 burger! It was offered like an included option, not a 28% upcharge.(Especially odd since they made a big deal about ranch dressing costing $.50. But, our waiters were kind and helpful, telling us places to visit and tips on bourbons we couldn’t find in our local stores when we go back home. Their recommendations were wonderful and we were especially happy to get our hands on a glass of Pappy at such a reasonable price.

We visited here after The Spirit of Derby Elite party and had a ball. It took a minute to finally figure out what I wanted because the menu has a lot of tasty sounding items. I started off getting a Sunspot Stout from Apocalypse Brew Works, and we ordered the pretzel bread with beer cheese to start. The pretzel came out HOT! I almost burnt myself reaching for it. Once it cooled down just a little bit and I started noshing on it, dipping in the cheese I fell in love. The pretzel had just enough saltiness and the beer wasn’t too spicy. It was perfect and the consistency was that of real cheese and not cheese whiz or something similar. I finally figured out that I wanted the Turk Chee, Scott got a hamburger, Sherri and Becky both got the roast sandwich because it was the special. Our food didn’t take long at all to come out and it arrived hot and fresh. My sandwich was very good and seasoned nicely. We didn’t get a side as the pretzel was quite filling but each one of our sandwiches came with a salad on the side with a vinaigrette mixed in with it. I’m not sure if you’re supposed to add it to your sandwich or not, but it was delicious by itself, so I had a salad as a side. I ended up taking basically a full sandwich home with me because Sherri and Becky didn’t finish theirs and gave it to me. Scott devoured his burger and he said he thoroughly enjoyed it. Out waiter was incredibly helpful when we were looking through the menu and very conversational with everyone, they even pulled a bottle of bourbon down from a shelf to help with a dispute we were having. I really like these guys and I am sure I’ll be back when I am in the area. Crescent Hill Craft House is wonderful. Get here! It’s a bit on the pricey side since everything is A la carte, but it’s well worth the money and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful!

Top of the mark. Each of us ordered ordered a differed dish and were blown away by the presentation, taste and originality of the food. We started iff with the mussels as an appetizer. It came hot and with crunchy bread. We ate the whole dish. A chicken and dumpling dish that my wife says wad the best she ever tasted. I had the shrimp and grits my son had the smoked chicken pot pie and his friend had the lamb ragu. Add to that the insane local yokel beer selection and what you get is an experience you wont forget. 5 stars to the waitstaff too.

We came here 15 min before the kitchen closed and they were still welcoming which was very professional. We had the shrimp and grits which were delicious and also had the fried catfish. Everything about this place was great and if I’m in town again, I will definitely come by again.

I came here for the first time last night and I can assure you I will be coming back. It was one of my favorite food experiences since I’ve lived in louisville. I ordered the lamb ragu with sweet potato gnocchi. AHHHITWASDELICIOUS! I was pretty full a quarter or the way through, but it was so yummy I couldn’t stop eating. My friends all enjoyed their meals as well, especially the steak and kimchi. That entrée in particular was a hit because of its size and taste. I don’t know what type of restaurant of classify crescent hill craft house, expect for saying its a must go. There are a variety of things you can get on the menu. From shrimp and grits to chicken pot pie, to the items I mentioned above. All very delicious too! The ambiance is also great. It’s a little hipster: dim lights, wood tables, burlap napkins. It’s definitely a good dinner experience! Can’t wait go back!

I stumbled upon this place when I was out on Frankfort Avenue and it was lovely. Great atmosphere — laid back and intimate. They have a patio out back that was obviously closed, but it looked like it would be a nice place in warm weather. The menu isn’t huge but it has a ton of variety and accommodating to dietary restrictions. Most of the menu is what I think of when I think southern comfort food — chicken pot pie, corn bread, shrimp and grits, fried bologna sandwich, macaroni and cheese, catfish, etc. We started with the jalapeño cornbread with apple butter. My oh my — so good. The salty, sweet and spicy combination was perfect. I love cornbread and the only way to make it is in a skillet — the texture of the cornbread was awesome. Well done. For my entrée, I had the chicken pot pie. The meat was smoked, which gave the whole dish a rich smokey flavor. The cream sauce was nice, the vegetables were fresh, and everything came together pretty well. Instead of traditional pie crust they used a puff pastry — this offered a different texture and it was a little cumbersome to cut. I’m probably more of a pot pie traditionalist, but this dish was good. I wouldn’t order it again but mainly because there’s so many other things on the menu that look amazing. The beer selection is expansive– a lot of craft beers from local breweries. All in all, a great little place.

This place gets a 5 star for the beer. So many choices and a very helpful staff to help you choose. The food is great too and you have to start with the house-made pretzel and beer cheese mmmI hate to share this. The Poutine is something that I am ashamed that I order because my doctor may read this but it is so tasty with cheese curds, braised beef and brown gravy. Okay so death may not be that bad after Poutine. The wilted kale salad with bacon vinaigrette satisfied my vegan friend and was quite good. The burger looked good with Bill’s famous tavern cheese on brioche but my friend would not let anyone taste it as he said it was HIS! I tried the Shrimp and Grits and it was decadent and much loved by the table. The lamb rage was good but needed more lamb for my taste. I love this place and will return again if the heart holds out!

I was very excited about this place as I enjoy trying a variety of local brews. I have to say– I was a bit let down. The place was packed when I was here. The bar area was full and there was a wait for a table. The staff was not very friendly. Maybe they were just having a bad night. My friend and I waited for about 15 minutes for a table, so not too bad. We order the roasted cauliflower and the sweet potato fries. Both were pretty good. We each got a draft beer and the server never checked to see if we wanted another. The entire experience was just– meh. Nothing really bad– nothing really good. Stay tuned for a review update if I try it again.

I liked the selection of craft beers. As a Lexington native, I was proud to see so many of our breweries featured. I was meeting a friend, who recommended the place, and he said that he hasn’t seen a holiday ale in a while, but sure enough they had one. We all tried something new and liked the beers. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which were really delicious. We ordered several appetizers. Everyone enjoyed their food and we all agreed that we’d come back. The service was very attentive and everyone was so nice. It was a welcome treat in comparison to the«service» that I get in NY.

This place was busy on Saturday night(even at the early bird special hour we arrived during), but we ended up nabbing two seats at the bar. Great lively atmosphere, TV’s for game-watching and a beer list that rivals the best. We started with the pretzel and beer cheese, which came out what seemed like only seconds after ordering. Piping hot, buttery and delicious. For dinner, my husband had the steak and eggs and several strangers stopped to ask him about it — it looked and tasted that good! I had the chef’s salad, which was very fresh and also very good. Portions here are huge and a steal for the price. Finally, we enjoyed our server/bartender, Gordon, who was super attentive and cheerful. All-in-all a great experience at Crescent Hill. Beer lovers especially should add this one to their list. Cheers!

This place is good, real good. On both my visits the staff has been amazing. Super friendly but not overbearing, chat it up for a second then back to it. The décor is great, nice and modern with their beer list displayed by a light projector on the bar wall. Its kind of hard to see when its bright outside but looks awesome at night. The giant window facing the street is great if you are a railfan like me. Every now and again you can catch freights heading into Louisville or up to Cincinnati. On to the food and drink… everything here is local, the beers are all from local breweries and the bourbon/whiskey selection that is sitting above the taps is also local. Meats and vegetables, also locally sourced. Im liking the new trend in places like this, support your local community and everything it has to offer. So I had looked over the menu before I decided to stop in and everything sounded good. My first experience was with the low on the hog BLT, no bacon on this guy but instead something better than bacon… a nice thick slice of pork belly. This is the way a BLT should be, all the flavors work together perfectly, nothing over powers anything else. The garlic aioli, tomato jam, greens and wheat bread are all there and all getting along great! As I ordered this on a Saturday between 12pm and 3pm it came with breakfast potatoes, nicely seasoned quartered reds. Second time around I went for the Bootleg Bologna and Jalapeño cast iron corn bread with apple butter. Man another awesome choice, only thing was I forgot to get my sandwich with a fried egg, oh well another time. Sandwich was delicious, the whole grain mustard and cheddar were perfect. The apple butter, oh the apple butter, I could have eaten that by itself. But when paired up with that cast iron corn bread… just try it and see for yourself. I wish every place could be like Crescent Hill, everything about ti makes me want to keep coming back. Did I mention how clean the restaurant is? The bar, the windows, the front walkway… everything is well maintained and kept up. Keep up the good work guys!

After my first visit, I loved everything about Crescent Hill Craft House! You walk in and the atmosphere is very rustic. Lots of wood and earthy tones. The silverware is wrapped in burlap napkins. Everything is done well and looks nice. There’s definitely a trendy/hip vibe here. Let’s start with the beer. 40 local beers on tap! Can it get any better? Seriously, I want to come here to drink beer everyday. There’s so many beers to try, and I love that you can get beers from different breweries around town, from Lexington or Indiana, all in one place. I decided to get a sampler, which ended up being $ 11(each sample is $ 2.50 or $ 3.50 depending on the ABV). I had the ATG Brown Note, Country Boy Nitro Stout, West Sixth Cocoa Porter, and Cumberland Brews Nitro Porter. All were delicious with my favorite probably being the Nitro Stout. There’s so many beers to choose from, I can’t wait to go back and try more. Onto the food… Phenomenal. Everything I had was delicious. My bff and I started with the cheese curds. OMG. Whatever you do, you must get these. The best fried cheese I’ve ever had in my life paired with a yummy, unique, homemade pimento cheese ranch. We loved them so much, we ordered a second round. For our meals, I had the Turk+Chee sandwich and added a side of sweet potato wedges. I LOVED my sandwich. Turkey, bacon, beer cheese, tomatoes… Each ingredient was high quality and amazing. The beer cheese was also some of the best I’ve had(which makes me want to try the beer cheese pretzel next time). The sweet potato wedges were good, and the maple aioli dipping sauce was perfect. My best friend had the creamy tomato soup and the baby spinach salad. I tried a bite of each, and they were great too. I will comment that this place is pricey. It’s listed as $$(moderate), but I’d consider it $$$(pricey). If you’re drinking beer, you’re looking at $ 30 per person at least. This is TOTALLY worth it, in my opinion. I will pay that any day for the excellent food and beer quality. The only price I was slightly disappointed in was my side of sweet potato wedges. Sandwiches don’t come with a side, so it was $ 4 to add the wedges. Okay, that’s fine. However, the portion is only 4 small wedges. I’ve cut sweet potatoes into wedges plenty, so I know it was about ¼th of a sweet potato(aka 25 cents). Oh well, they tasted good, and everything else was so wonderful that I can overlook that. I just might get a different side next time. After hearing some mixed reviews about this place, I was super impressed. Maybe I ordered the right things, but CHCH was a top notch experience for me. The food and beer I had was out-of-this-world good. I can’t wait to go back and try more. I wish I could eat fried cheese everyday… If you can’t tell, I LOVE this place! I definitely recommend giving Crescent Hill Craft House a try.

This was my second visit to the Crescent Hill Craft House. The first time I came in and bellied up to the bar to enjoy some local brew from Lexington and Louisville(They have a huge selection of craft beer). Last Saturday I came in and enjoyed a delicious dinner. To start off we had the charcuterie board. It was really tasty but could have had a bit more on it for the price(I compared it to other charcuterie boards I’ve had in the past.). Unfortunately we didn’t finish the olives because the brine they were soaked in was way too salty for us. I’m an avid olive lover too, so I was a bit bummed. My favorites on the plate had to be the bacon and the blue cheese. Very flavorful. For dinner we decided to split the Low on the Hog BLT. Great flavor again. Loved the bread. For my side I chose the Cream Cheese Grits. For $ 3…oh my! They were excellent. She chose the Roasted Cauliflower Gratin. Also very yummy! Both of the sides were vegan for those of you who don’t eat meat. They also offer other vegan options. Along with our meal we enjoyed a few drinks. I chose the Cream Ale from Cumberland Brewery along with a sipper glass of Basil Hayden with two rocks. Nice and smooth! My dinner companion had the Knees Up cocktail. It was wonderful and you could really taste the fresh basil! I truly enjoy the Craft House and will be back! I love the food, drink & décor. Nice with a laid back vibe. Plus supporters of local beer and local food always get my vote.

Do you dream in acronyms like IPA, APA, ABV, and IBU? Are you one to choose a local craft beer over a national brew? Does the thought of cheese curds dipped in ranch dressing cross your mind multiple times throughout the day? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of those questions, you should probably get on down to Crescent Hill Craft House. A group of friends and I attempted to dine here for a birthday celebration dinner back in September, but the wait was too long, so we trudged down to El Mundo(where we still had a delightful meal). Recently, I’ve decided I need to devote myself to drinking more and stop being so concerned with my calorie intake to the point of not enjoying life, so Crescent Hill Crafthouse was the PERFECT place for me to indulge in a few beers. I met up with some girlfriends(Lisa C. and Stephanie S.) last night after work, where we wound up staying for over 4 hours at the bar. $ 2.50 will get you a small(I thought it was pretty big, actually) pour of a drink under 10% ABV(I believe that was the number). $ 3.50 for the darker, higher beer content. I don’t think I should comment on the taste of the beers since they weren’t actually brewed here(I loved 2 out of the 3 I had!), but the selection here was just impeccable; you are sure to find a brew for you! I need to keep an eye on the menu to see what they rotate out in the coming weeks, and just keep coming back to drink. As far as the food goes, we all split some cheese curds, fries, and pretzels with beer cheese. The fries were nothing special, but the cheese curds were the best I’ve ever had. They’re not to be missed! I’d definitely like to come back and try an entrée, so I will comment on it then. So you heard me; I’ll be back. You should too!
