Desserts by Helen is a sweet slice of Paris located conveniently on the Ave. Everything from the blue hue of the façade, to the swirly script of the bakery’s name, to the large picture windows made me feel like I was approaching a Patisserie in the city of Lights. Speaking of European delicacies, this place does a great job of executing those. In high school the French club got a «Buche de Noël» here, and not only did it look exquisite, I remember it tasting amazing. My new favorite at this location are the sand dollar cookies. They’re just 75 cents apiece, and are freshly-baked, soft sugar cookies with a fresh seasonal jam inside of them. The first time I got them I bought only one as an afternoon sugar fix, finished it before I got to my car, then turned back around to buy two more(to share, of course. .. with three friends I like to call me, myself, and I). I’ll definitely be back, maybe next time with a little coffee and a book to enjoy in the sitting area they have set aside near the front of the shop. So what do you say? Will I see you there soon?
