Large liquor selection, nice music inside, good seating for smaller groups outdoors. Best on a nice day

Get the pizza. Love the brick-oven crust. Also — go at night when it’s warm outside. The patio’s usually open and lit. Try playing ping pong.

I cam here on a Saturday early afternoon with some friends. We ordered one of their bourbon cocktails and beignets. The cocktail was okay — nothing special. The beignets were fluffy, but missing the powdered sugar that I expected. We sat indoors, where there were long wooden picnic-like tables. Bar is at the front. The waitor was great and very attentive. I would come here if I just wanted a place to hangout — I find that it is not that special otherwise and a little overpriced.

LOVED this place! Super cool vibe. Had lit up ping pong tables and corn hole. The lavender lemonade drink was really good and can be with or without alcohol. It was busy inside but had large outside area that fun. It was about 45 degrees when we were there, they provided fire pits to help stay warm. We had a great time enjoying the lavender lemonade and playing corn hole with another couple friend of ours. I will definitely be returning when I’m in the area again.

We got here early so the vibe was still pretty chill. There was nothing not to like. Great beer selection, bloody marys, artisanal ham tasting, and delicious pizza.

Oh, Garage Bar. I love you so much, but why must you be so popular? It is so, so crowded here on Fridays and Saturdays. But it’s easy to see why! It’s such a nice location, and they offer great food and drinks. I know of no other place that has such a good country ham platter. It includes hams from Colonel Newsom’s, Broadbent, S Wallace Edwards, and Meacham County. My favorite is Colonel Newsom’s, and I can’t resist it. Seriously, I love this place, and I love it even more when I can get a table outside on a beautiful fall day.

We have always been impressed with the his. Joint. Would love some new additions to their cocktail list and menu to switch it up. But overall great atmosphere with great food and alcohol!

Ok I like the layout the whole rollup doors and the play on the garage theme, woefully understaffed, took us forever to get service as one dude was working the whole floor. Sat outside, not much of a selection as long as you want pizza, they do offer a cold/hot lunch choice but yeah your gonna eat pizza. Pizza is good, albeit overpriced($ 15) for about 6 slices, root beer($ 4) and a nice selection of craft and local beers. I think everybody is hyping the layout instead of the food/drink side. Place is cool, but the food side of the equation is IMO lacking, located in NULU you could do worse.

Popped in for a quick lunch and was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting typical bar food, but was excited to find that they offered homemade bialey sandwiches. For the unaware, bialeys are akin to bagels, but slightly denser and lacking a hole, making them particularly well suited for sandwiches. I went with the bacon, egg, and cheese bialey and, at the waiter’s suggestion, added tomato and arugula. Superb!

Cool room with a great atmosphere. Obviously you want to take advantage of this place when it’s warm enough to enjoy the outdoor area. Lots of benches and places to sit. I loved the wood fire places and the light up ping pong tables. Decent selection of craft beer and an excellent selection of bourbon. The bartenders weren’t too friendly, but otherwise I enjoyed my visit.

LOVE Garage Bar! I had been here for drinks many times –which are always delicious and the bartenders are awesome!- without ordering any food. Over the summer I’ve tried various things from the menu and while everything has been delicious their sweet corn pizza is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. As a huge pizza fan, and a person who doesn’t generally love corn, I consider that a pretty bold statement. Go to Garage Bar, have all of the drinks and order the sweet corn pizza. You won’t regret it!

Fun place to enjoy the outside. It is designed to looked like an actual garage with two crashes cars in front, and not to mention the ping pong tables are on top of smashed up cars. It’s a really cool concept. They have a full bar and even signature drinks. They have pretty cool food choices too. We started with boiled peanuts and finished with zucchini and squash pizza. It was amazing and I would have never had thought of it on my own. Overall this is a fun place to go

Garage Bar is one of the most unique restaurants in Louisville. Before going to the food, let’s talk about the atmosphere. It’s in an old garage with two cars out front that are set up to look like they are smashing into each other(pretty cool!). They have a big patio with picnic tables and also green turf in various places that provide extra seating outside. The highlight… they have ping pong tables! This is a great place to hang out in nice weather. But on to the food and drinks… the menu is fairly specialized and limited so it might not be for everyone. However, I love ham so the ham tasting as an appetizer is perfect for me. If you get an appetizer or salad, you can likely share a pizza with someone unless you are really hungry(I have eaten a whole pizza by myself before). The pizza is very different than most. It actually reminds me of pizza I had in Italy — thinner crust and fewer toppings, especially less cheese. I’ve had several of their pizzas(most recently the pepperoni) and I’ve liked them all. Garage bar has a great craft beer draft list and also a great cocktail menu. I’ve never had a drink here I didn’t like! Overall, I would take a look at the menu to see if something peaks your interest, but this place is worth a visit whether you eat there or not. I personally think the food is delicious. I also recommend reservations as the place gets very busy, especially on weekends.

Offers Overpriced really small pizzas. We ordered pizza and once it arrived, the server never came back to check on us. The pizza crust was thinner than a dime and so were the of toppings on it. Our pizza crust was so thin that air bubbles formed and popped in the dough during baking. The result was holes in our superthin crust. Never again will I return here. If all you want to do is drink then other reviewers claim this is a good place to be. I have no experience with their alcohol and after this experience, I am not inclined to spend any more money here to try anything. Left still hungry and had to go somewhere else to eat. I repeat… I will NOT return to the Garage bar.

I’ve been to garage bar twice now and have pretty mixed feelings. The first time I went there I loved it! We had the sweet corn pizza and country ham pizza. Sweet corn was amazing, well actually they both were. The second time around we ordered the squash, margherita, and milled tomato. They were all pretty average, nothing special. It may be because the toppings themselves are less flavorful, but I’ve had some pretty damn good margherita pizzas and this one was nowhere close. However my first visit and the sweet corn pizza left a great impression on me, as well as the outdoor seating, so I’ll likely be back!

Stopped in for brunch today as I needed a bloody mary. Saw their butchertown bloody that comes with a ham garnish… sold! Got it spicy, it could have used a little more kick but it was a good balance of flavor and alcohol. Ok so on to this thin sliced ribbon of ham that’s bunched up and been soaking in the bloody mary the whole time. Pulling this thing out to eat was amazing. It was a chewy, salty, spicy piece of awesome ham. I also ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. It was equally as good. Salty bacon, nicely cooked egg and the chewy roll thing it was on was great. I sat at the bar which was open to the outside, staff was friendly and the service was pretty quick. They have games outside like table tennis and corn hole. It’s a nice place overall and in a good location, just on the outskirts of downtown. I’ll be back for sure…

I can distinctly remember the moment my friends and I first chose to come to Garage Bar. Early in our college careers at U of L, we started to realize we needed to take advantage of the unique local spots around Louisville. Being set up in an old auto shop gave Garage Bar the edge to be our first choice in exploring this city. Now that I’ve been here a few times since then, I can still say that this place holds up to its first impression. Dim lighting, a rustic feel to the atmosphere, and flannel everywhere. Those were the first three things I noticed and they all seem to hold true for me still. They offer some fantastic pizzas, oysters, and burgers. My favorite is the sausage pizza which I had for the first time last night and YUM! I’m a huge oyster fan as well and those are always a great appetizer to hold us over before our meal. The pizzas are perfect to split between 2 people and for that I’d say they’re fairly priced. The crust is thin and delicious– I never let a bite go uneaten. They have a nice bar that I took advantage of for the first time last night. Their draft beers change from time to time(I’m not sure the rotation schedule) which is nice if you’re a fan of trying new things like I am. Being from Michigan, I always try to have a MI brew like Bell’s or Founders. They had multiple of both last night which made me a happy gal! Overall, if you’re looking for a hip place for some great pizza and a brew: you will love Garage Bar. I think it’s a great demonstration of the vibe Louisville gives off.

Pizza and man buns and beards, oh my! This is definitely my kind of place. I have a thing for facial hair. To the point where my friends take pictures of random men and text them to me, with messages like, «Hairy enough for you? Should I give him your number?» To which I always respond, «Don’t you dare give out my number! But… mmmm.» This review just went to a creepy place, didn’t it? Sorry. *blushes* Um, back to the point. It’s definitely the sort of place where dudes with man buns and beards and tattoos fit in. They’re everywhere, playing ping pong, sitting on hedges, at the bar, behind the bar. At first glance, you may think there’s a hipster-only requirement. Look closer, though, and you’ll see others: an older couple sharing a ham platter, a father playing ping pong with his daughter, a bachelorette party laughing over a few pizzas. Garage Bar is really the sort of place that anyone can enjoy. The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind, with the garage doors and crashed cars and the hedge benches. It’s a great summer date location, especially for a first date, because it’s crowded and fun and it’s impossible to have a bad time. And it’s in the awesome NULU neighborhood, with lots of other shops and galleries and restaurants to check out.

If you are in the mood to sit outside with a tasty cocktail and play some ping pong… you are in the right place! This spot is so much fun and in a great area near downtown. The cocktails, as I mentioned, are tasty and freshly made for you. They also have a full beer list and some wines as well. Hungry? They have nice thin crust pizzas with delicious toppings that you can order as well as an array of other snacks. The ping pong tables and the corn hole boards make for a fun evening with friends/family. Do not skip over this place even though it looks like a filling station. :)

I will preface this review with Garage Bar drinks are a 5⁄5. Garages Bars atmosphere is a 5⁄5. Garage Bars’ bar scene and bartenders are a 5⁄5 stars. Garage Bars waiting service is a 5⁄5 Garage Bars food? Not so great. * Everything Bagel Pizza — Eh… What can I say? Brick stone pizza may not be for me. Or maybe this pizza was very poorly made. I understand that brick stone pizza is traditionally thin, but this pizza was just plain horrible. in fact, it was almost as if the cook took the pizza dough, rolled it into a donut shape and in the middle just put the toppings of egg, cream cheese, and smoked salmon. Because when i took a bite of the pizza, there was no pizza bottom! and if there was a bottom, it was literally as thin as a piece of paper but as hard and crispy as a potato chip. Overall, NOT worth the money. Had i known the pizza was going to be a piece of crap, I would have just spent my $ 15 on two summer shandys or on three orders of beignets.
