I have been to many festivals in Louisville over the years, especially the neighborhood/​street festivals that pop up each year. Most are pretty fun but similar in their offerings and entertainment. This one is different in a very good way! The Garvin Gate Blues Festival is so much fun!
Situated in Old Louisville, surrounded by pretty houses and rich Old Louisville culture complete with awesome live blues music… this one is one you definitely do not want to miss. This was my first year checking this one out since I just moved to the neighborhood late last fall. The crowds are infectious and the music is perfect! You really do not feel like you are in Louisville… it feels like you have transported to a blues mecca (maybe Memphis with some New Orleans influence).
I hope to see more vendors/​food booths/​etc set up next year!
