I can’t say enough about how much I enjoy this space and their coffee. While living in Louisville for a decade, I rented an apartment a few blocks from here and spent so much time and money in Heine Bros. Whenever I’m back in town(like I have been this fall), this is one of the first places I visit. And often. Plus, you can order their beans online.

So it’s been a year since I first tried Heine so I decided to give it another go and… I loved it! They obviously remodeled a little bit so it feels less cramped AND the girls behind the counter were super nice and helpful to this Heine noob! I think I will definatly be visiting Heine more often!

This is a very cool coffee caffe. I would often walk up there when I was in school to study. It is a relaxing environment.

Mixed reviews. Thrilled that they have coconut milk for a choice, and my drink was excellent. But they were insufferably slow and not once while I was waiting did anyone say be with you in a minute or apologize.

I don’t think people know that the coffee is organic. It’s really great, local and wonderful baristas. I love Heine Bros.

Although I have a simple and quick order, black iced coffee, the service was fast and the worker was nice. Great café but pretty small. Quiet atmosphere when I visited

I really appreciate how accommodating the barista was while ordering my ½ hot chocolate ½ whipped cream, soy milk beverage. The parking is quick and easy Sunday night, and the outdoor seating is lovely. The ambiance is chill and perfect for reading, working, or just hanging out and people watching. Very relaxed setting.

Heine Brothers’ Coffee is only ok. I don’t get too many coffee drinks, so I can only comment on their drip coffee. I’ve had better. Quill’s Coffee has only 1 location in Louisville, but is much better. I’ve been told Sunergos is the BEST coffee in Louisville. I’ve only had it once, but I could agree with that. The main complaint I have with ALL Heine Brothers’ Coffee shops isn’t that their coffee products are only ok or overpriced, but that their internet is terribly slow! I’ve only ever averaged maybe .50 Mbps. They obviously only want people to log onto Google and not work and drink(i.e. spend money) all day at their stores. Ugh, whatever. My problem is I’d rather shop local, but they definitely push me to Starbucks. Good thing I have several other locals shops to choose from(Quill’s & Highland Coffee).

Every time I go to a Heine Brothers, my drink looks and tastes differently. Since I order the same thing, I find this confusing. And good CHRIST, nearly $ 7 for my chai?! I’ll take«Reasons to Choose Starbucks» for 200, Alex. And I have a severe dislike for coffee shops that have absolutely no comfy seating(couches, cushy chairs). I had just stopped in at Carmichels and bought a book, with the intention of sipping a coffee drink in a coffee shop for a little while enjoying some of the afternoon. Well… I sat uncomfortably in the hard wooden chairs. I was in the area with the plan to sit and read in a coffee shop until the next meeting I had to go to, so I stayed. I don’t think I’ll be back to this location, though.

To be clear, this review is for the location only. I love Heine coffee. For my purposes, which is almost always work-related and requiring a laptop, I find that this coffee shop leaves much to be desired. Hardly any seating options, and even harder to find an outlet. Patrons and music are loud — this is not conducive to sitting and working quietly. While it isn’t the best place to get pensive, it is located in a prime Frankfort Ave. spot, making it ideal for stopping in and grabbing a cup to go.

Just an excellent place to get some coffee or smoothie or light food. Might see a friend there, too.

Thank you heine bros for putting yourselves everywhere you can, so I never have the temptation to break for a starbucks. You’re always there for me. They don’t have the best coffee in town, but surely really nice people and a good atmosphere.

Overall a great coffee shop I have been to this coffee shop(on Bardstown and Eastern pkwy) couple of times. Everytime, I had a good experience. They have friendly staffs, their coffee tastes good and the location is unbeatable. If weather permits, one should always try the outdoor seating. They also have free(like every coffee shop) and speedy(unlike every coffee shop) Wi-Fi. I am yet to try their whole bean coffee, but it looks expensive compared to Starbucks.

Looks like my experiences here have been better than others’. I’ve always had very good espressos, and their straight coffee is excellent as well.(Good roast, they don’t go the Starbucks charred route to cover up use of cheap beans.) The baristas have always been pretty friendly, and this location has my favorite décor of any coffee shop I’ve been to — not pretentious, overdone hipster, or overdone hippie like most shops that have opened or redecorated in the last five years. As far as price, it’s cheaper than the local places I used in Atlanta and Pittsburgh. The outdoor seating is really nice on a spring/autumn day(or a summer morning), and they’re dog-friendly — they always have a doggie bowl of water out.

Stopped in with Andy P. during our visit to the WONDERFUL city of Louisville whilst in the midst of our road trip from Dallas to Connecticut. I really, really loved the vibe of this place. Totally chill, and totally Louisville. I can’t remember if my drink was good or not. Andy’s hate of his drink is well documented. But, I’m going to be bold and wager to say it doesn’t matter. If I lived in Louisville I’d spend many a lazy afternoon here. The upstairs walk to the bathroom is not to be missed. Ambiance: 25⁄25 stars Food: 15⁄25 stars Bathroom: 25⁄25 stars Probability of going back: 20%(we will meet again)

Here’s the good, the bad and the ugly: The Good — One of the baristas was really nice and helpful. The vibe was definitely in-step with a punk-rock coffee house and in so being, was pretty fresh. The Bad — The latte I got was just not that good. I mean, serviceable. Not like, spit-it-out bad, but I can have better from Starbucks and that’s not saying too much. The Ugly — To go with Donald G., there was a vibe of misery in one of the employees and his rants were very unappreciated. Overall: mediocre to poor coffee, decent atmosphere, uneven baristas. I wouldn’t go back because there’s another coffee shop on Frankfort I liked better.

Great«wake me up» coffee — comfortable large, bright, lounging-conducive ambiance. Jones sodas, ice cream, and the like. I could read the paper on their plush red leather couches all day.
