I used to take my clothes to the Highland Cleaners on Taylorsville road but since all locations send clothes to the same plant on Bardstown Road my review applies to all Highlands Cleaners. The chemical that they used left white stains on my expensive red Tahari blouse. They sent it back to the plant twice to be redone with no success. They refused to pay for the damage. I had nothing to loose so I decided to wash the blouse. To my surprise washing with a detergent did the trick. After one wash my Dry Clean Only blouse was as good as new. :-)

I took in a cashmere sweater with a stain for cleaning; I identified the stain, and left it to the professionals at Highland. However, when I came to pick up the sweater, it had a stain tag on it, indicating that they hadn’t been able to remove the mark. In their attempts, though, they seriously pilled the fabric by rubbing it. There was no discount on my cleaning since they couldn’t remove the stain. I thought, «Well, that’s a couple hundred bucks down the drain.» But I’m not a quitter. To make the story just a *little* bit more irritating, I took the sweater home, Googled how to clean cashmere, tossed it in the washer in a lingerie bag, added a little Mrs. Meyer’s and lo and behold, 10 minutes later had a sweater with no stain. Makes me wonder a little bit about the professional cleaning abilities of Highland. I’ll go back to my $ 2.75-per-piece cleaner from now on.

All my buttons(seriously all of them) on my shirts(4) and blazers(5) came back broke. Took them back and management said they would never return clothes like that. They went on to say I must have brought all of them in like that trying to place blame on the dry cleaner. I will never go back.

Been going to Highland Cleaners for over 20 years. They are always friendly and my clothes are clean and in great shape. My favorite thing about Highland is that they give back to our community. They were just in Business First as a top Philanthropic business. Love that!

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now. I usually get 5 dress shirts dry cleaned, lightly starched, for around $ 15. I took 7 dress shirt, 7 t-shirts, 2 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of jeans, 6 pairs of boxers, and some socks, and my bill was almost $ 200. They tried to explain to me that the t-shirts are much more expensive to clean, and that’s what cost so much. I will never go back to highland cleaners, they will never ever get another dime from me. I triple my load and my bill goes up 15x. Ridiculous.

I’ve taken my clothes here for alterations and cleaning. The past year, I had a few nice things altered and they came back great. It was somewhat reasonably priced as well, and I made sure to get the same woman. Recently I took a sweater in to clean, and it came back half unraveled! They just handed it to me like no big deal. No tag saying anything about damage. Again, I went to have three items taken in, one a bridesmaids dress(so I expected to pay a little more because of the material). $ 125 dollars later and I could have paid to just buy almost all three of these items again. Ridiculous. I will never, ever, take any of my clothes there again. High prices, horrible customer service, and an all over RIPOFF.

Awful, awful. I had two items dry cleaned, and both of them came back to me not the least bit cleaner. Perhaps they were just steamed and pressed? At $ 10 a piece, I had expected more. I had a set of vintage dresses hemmed at the tailor shop. Keep in mind, I am a fashion designer so I know what I want. I do not have a commercial blind stitch machine so it was my desire to have these sewn correctly. I was charged $ 22 for each dress to have them hemmed to 30″ from high point shoulder on each one. All of them came back fine, expect that it was made 22″ long from the center front. I gave specific directions. I had to wait a week to get my original items, but on going back into the tailor shop, I was told to wait, and then later on that day I had my dress fixed. Thankfully they didn’t chop it too short, and the damage was repairable.

I went to Highland to get a tailored suit jacket cleaned. I told them it had never been cleaned, that it was made by a tailor rather than a large clothing manufacturer, and that I wasn’t sure that it would survive a dry cleaning process. The front desk rep wouldn’t even look at the jacket — just kept saying, «What’s your phone number?» and«I really don’t know anything about clothes, I just check them in.» I couldn’t understand why she wouldn’t call someone up who actually knew something about clothes to come up and talk to me. I wasn’t looking for a guarantee, just an expert opinion, which I understand it fallible, but it’s better than nothing. Since I got nothing, I left and went elsewhere.
