I told my husband about Knotts Shoes which I’d visited in years past at the old locations and had excellent service. His size is tough to find and he’d been trying to replace work shoes for a couple of weeks. We made the trip to J. Carlton on a Saturday when we were both off work. The store was empty and there were 3 staff people on hand. But other than cursory answers to his questions about the stock no one offered to help. No shoe sizing offers and nothing was brought from the stock room. I was browsing and no one offered to help me either; but it was most appalling that he came in with very specific questions and it was as if no one wanted our business. We won’t bother again.

Visited this beautifully laid out shoe store on the night of the Light Up Westport Village. The owners were so friendly, accommodating, and eager to help as well as tell you more about Louisville. This is a great upscale outdoor shopping center with great offerings for all family members. Worth the leisurely visit enabling you to see each and every store. J Carlton Shoes really gives you that «hometown» shoe shopping experience in a time where we are used to buying shoes in a rush off the rack losing the «service» experience. A visit to J Carlton Shoes will keep you coming back for that perfect shoe!
