It seems like local, small-batch, gourmet ice cream joints are popping up in cities all over America. None of them — even Jeni’s in Columbus, Ohio — are as good as Louisville Cream. They have flavors you won’t find anywhere else, combinations that are thoughtful and delicious, and texture that is always smooth — never tacky, watery, or oily(as many ice creams can be). Even their«entry-level» flavors like vanilla bean(with smoked sea salt), mint(made with actual mint leaves — shockingly good), and strawberry(with pistachio and balsamic) are superlative, but what really makes them special are their unique flavors like oatmeal apple walnut(which is like the best breakfast in a bowl) and Ann Arbor City Limits(chocolate with vanilla marshmallow and oreos). My personal favorite is camp marshmallow: vanilla marshmallow crème with rice krispie treat pieces. This is some of the best ice cream you’ll find anywhere, period.

YUM!!! I just love their ice cream. Yesterday I had the salted butter caramel ice cream with a pretzel cone and it was sooooo amazing. I should’ve bought a pint to take home; regretting it now. Their ice cream is kinda pricey especially if you get the pretzel cone but it is worth every penny.

Ice cream at its best on a muggy day like today. Sampled their delicious products today at the Buy Local Fair. They had several inventive flavors to choose from including a vegan maple, Catcher in the Rye(made with rye whisky), Hi Five glazed donut, and blueberry ballet. Being a fan of Hi Five donuts, I went for a scoop of that. You can have as many scoops as you want(1 – 3) served up in a cup, a cake cone, or their amazing pretzel cones. I opted for a single($ 4) in a cup. The amount of ice cream given was generous. Chunks of sweet, glazed donut studded the rich and creamy vanilla-like base. The ice cream was firm but warmed up in no time as I was outside in the heat. The flavor was sweet but not over the top. The sugar level suited both the kids and the adults in line. I was told that the blueberry ballet had pieces of brownie in it as well as a load of berries. From its deep purple-blue color, it looked like no fruit was spared. Hope to try it next time. Catcher in the Rye is a boozy treat probably best left to the grown ups. With their unique flavors, local ingredients, and fun attitude, Louisville Cream is a very sweet spot!

This is some of best ice cream I have ever had in my life. Mouth-wateringly good. Like, I crave this more than three times a week, good. I wish they sold it more than by subscription, but luckily you can also find them at the Flea Off Market and other local events. My favorite flavor so far is the Ann Arbor City Limits. I also heard their Marshmallow was unreal!

You guys, it doesn’t get much better than Louisville Cream. First, it’s ice cream. In fact, it’s super delicious ice cream. I mean, it’s hard to go wrong with ice cream, but these guys are doing it *really* right. Their ice cream is creamy, just the right density, and it contains the perfect amount of mix-ins(when you’ve chosen a flavor with them). Secondly, THEFLAVORS! Oh, the delectable flavors. Louisville Cream is making smart, completely original, flavors that you can’t find anywhere else. At this point I’ve only tried four, but I have two pints waiting in my freezer at this very moment to bring my total up to six in the very near future. And, let me tell you, I have nothing but extremely high expectations for the new flavors I’ll soon be trying. I very highly recommend you all check out Louisville Cream, and soon! They offer monthly deliveries through their pint club(information found on their website) and they set up a booth at awesome events around the city, like The Flea Off Market.
