Amazing pulled pork. Great flavor and generous portions. They really treat first timers with generosity by giving them a free bottle of Barbacue sauce and a free piece of buttermilk pie. The pie was delicious and reminded me of my Grandmothers sugar cream pie. The fried corn on the cob was very sweet and flavorful. The original(yellow) was mild but good. The Red was my favorite! Not spicy hot, but great Barbacue flavor.

Got the worlds biggest Samdwich … With 1 lb of brisket and it was really good … Though I lost the challenge and wasn’t able to finish it. I felt it was may be a little too dry… Had it been a lil more moist I would have given 5 stars. Excellent host, and really took care of us. We were party of 15 and everyone loved their food. So thumbs up.

I love BBQ and Mark’s did not disappoint. In town for the NRA expo and was fortunate enough to see this place was #10 rated restaurant in Louisville out 1400+ and it did not disappoint. When back I. Town next year I will certainly be going back for more.

Best ribs i have ever had. Friendly staff. I am from out of town & stopped by because of good Unilocal rating. Service was very quick. Bathroom is clean. Parking lot was very full.

Came in early on a Friday night but had a hard time getting a server to take our order. Apparently, the server for the section was taking a phone order and couldn’t help us. The hostess finally got our drinks for us but it wasn’t until I said something further that she finally got a different server to wait on us. It’s unfortunate that phone calls take precedence over customers sitting in the restaurant. The server that finally waited on us was pleasant enough but the food was mediocre at best. The pulled pork was cold and dried out. I won’t be back to Mark’s — there are far better bbq places in town. The hostess was the best part of this place and kudos to her for trying to make our experience better. I think the manager should find a better system to take phone orders rather than allowing customers to sit without food and drinks for 20 minutes.

The ribs… oh my! The BBQ salt, amazing on about everything! The first timer bonus of buttermilk pie and bottled BBQ sauce, unheard of and if it was possible won us over to this being a top notch BBQ joint! You must come try their food! Of the 4 of us in our party, no one had anything that they didn’t give 2 thumbs way up! The management and wait staff only added to the excellent experience we had. When we are back in Louisville again, we will definitely come back again!

I was visiting for the weekend looking for a good BBQ spot, we saw all the great reviews so gave it a try. I was so disappointed! The honey wings was to oily, felt like I was eating a grease sugar bomb. The salad just came out of a bag. The chicken was cold and flavorless. The shoe string onion rings was the best thing I had there. I can’t believe this place is still in business. For me it was hard to get good food in Louisville, everything was so bland. I Iive in Philly, I’m use to more action on my plate. My waitress was great though, very sweet lady. You get a free pie and BBQ sauce for your 1st visit. Pie OK, but very sweet.

Brisket was dry, wings were OK, and Mac and cheese was mediocre. Service was good, however the BBQ could have been better.

Where do I begin? I’ve been eating at Marks(we’re on a first name basis) since I was little. Their BBQ, sides, sauces and service(oOo alliteration) are all awesome! A few great things about Marks. Their food is consistently good, and it’s been good for years. My favorite dish is the pulled chicken light meal. It comes with one side and a piece of Texas toast(you can add a side, I often do). I love all their sides, but I frequently eat their spicy fries, fried corn on the cob, and baked beans. Oh! Oh, let’s not forget their onion straws. Delicious. But only get the half basket(unless there’s more than 4 of you) they’re plentiful and to die for. And their corn bread. Man, see everything is good. Their service is great as well. We have a server who waits on us pretty regularly and she is always willing to go above and beyond to make our dining experience fun and relaxing. They have a lot of a young kids busing and working in the kitchen, which as a high school teacher I think is nice. Their text in deals. They have a number on their tables that when you text it you get notified of specials and deals. Like, $ 5 off $ 15 or $ 5 off $ 20, etc. They’re usually 3 days long and vary from week to weekend. It’s fun and often determines when we go. Deals are always good. And lastly, free dessert Monday. Drop the mic.

02÷15÷16. Another excellent meal here. Fried Lemon Pepper Fish dinner with baked beans and baked potato. Everything tasty, hot, and fresh. Excellent service. Complimentary dessert Monday evenings. I got the Buttermilk Crunch.

With six locations in Kentucky and Southern Indiana, this is my favorite Mark’s Feed Store. The outdoor seating on street level or on the balcony is ideal for summertime when the craving for barbeque hits! The service is always attentive, friendly, and able to answer any questions that I may have about the menu. My server allowed me to honor a coupon for a free item that needed to be redeemed at a different location. I was also able to take home a free slice of buttermilk pie by redeeming the offer available through a Unilocal check-in.

Loved the feel of this restaurant and the brisket was very tasty. If you love wings make sure you try their honey wings, they come on a huge nest of fried crispy onions and with a nice tangy sauce.

Unfortunately, this was not our best meal in Louisville. We started out with the Burgoo, which was really good and the best thing we had, and the Honeywings, which were pretty good, too. Those were the highlights. I had the #1 Rib Combo, and while the ribs were good, the brisket was dry and the pork was also dry and rather cold. We ordered a baked potato as one of the sides, and it was so ice cold(like had recently been taken out of refrigerator?), we had to send it back to get reheated. Green beans and Mac n Cheese were both okay, nothing spectacular, but the corn was pretty good. We finished with Buttermilk Pie, which is waaay too sweet for me. The kid liked it, though. Our waitress was friendly enough.

Didn’t have much of the menu– just a quick bite on the run… I did sure want to try the wings on onion straws it looked so good! But I did enjoy the Burgoo(very very thick-much thicker than I’ve ever seen it) and Mouse inhaled the pork bbq(after saying she wasn’t hungry). And my check in earned me a free piece of buttermilk pie– try it– real good. Waitress Jen was spot-on and by re-checking her order realized my partner wanted A SWEET POTATO-not sweet potato fries. Well I will certainly be back just to try the«bird on the nest» gimmick.

We enjoyed a good BBQ dinner here. I ordered the rib combo platter. This comes with ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. For the two sides I chose mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. As for the meat, the ribs were stellar. The pulled pork and brisket were good but I’ve had better. The mac was fantastic along with the sweet potato fries. The service was excellent with our waitress offering my son stickers when she saw that he was a but grumpy. Overall a really nice experience. I’d recommend Mark’s when passing through the Louisville area.

This is about their catering and no complaints here! Had a party for 80 and they were on time, had a good staff cleaning up after the party-goers, food was the always you-can-count-on-it type that pleased both the kids and adults and they were in and out without fuss. The mac and cheese was supposed to be on the kids’ buffet, but the adults were seen picking up both the chicken fingers and the pasta! Lots of leftovers. The price was better – by far– than any of the other places I called. Most other places really added on for having someone serve, but Mark’s did it easily and cost-effectively. Red bliss potato salad was a huge hit and who doesn’t like their pulled pork sammies! They bring a nice variety of bar-b-cue sauces and the hot one will light you up! They clearly know what they are doing.

One of the best decisions in my life happened while I sat in my car in Downtown Louisville searching the Unilocal app for the best barbecue with a friend of mine. We were here for two whole days and wanted to make sure we had some good barbecue(don’t tell but she’s normally a vegetarian). We kept finding places that closed at 2pm or didn’t open until 5pm. So we started to get a little frustrated and nearly gave up on finding the best BBQ in Louisville. But then we found Mark’s Feed Store and a glance at the pictures told us this was the place to go. Throw in a free offer, and we hit the road with GPS guiding us. There was plenty of parking off street and we were seated right away. Our server was there in a second to bring us drinks so that was great and fast service. We both went for the World’s Largest Pulled Pork Sandwich and I couldn’t eat a ¼ of it. It was huge and only $ 12. I got the spicy fries with mine and loved them, though they were not as flavored as expected, still really good. My friend got a side of potato salad and gobbled it down. In between swallows, she made it sound like it was awesome tasting. Finally, we both gave up on our extra large pork sandwiches and got to-go boxes to bring back to our hotel. But I couldn’t forget about the Unilocal check in deal for a slice of buttermilk pie. My friend and I could never pass up a dessert. We’ve made homemade cheesecake, brownies, and all sorts of sweets. So we knew that dessert had to be had. But we also didn’t know what buttermilk pie was! At first, my initial reaction was that the slice they put on the table was small. But after a bite, I knew why. It’s a super sweet treat and kind of a mixture of a custard pie and sugar cookie flavor. It was definitely very good, but not something I’d order a lot if I was a local. But something worth trying for sure. I tried to eat my leftovers from the World’s Biggest Sandwich and it was just too much. The container made it’s way back home for my partner to gobble up the next day. No complaints from him! At the end of the day, this is exactly what I want/expect in a BBQ place. If you live nearby, you should definitely try them out. If you are visiting like me, I’d say this is an awesome place to dine at. It’s nothing fancy or crazy. Just good food and large portions!

We have a few BBQ restaurants in this city, but I think a lot of people pass over & forget about Mark’s. I’m not sure if it’s because it has been around for so long or what. It’ll always be a go-to for me when I’m in immediate need of BBQ. At the Highlands location, I’ve only dined in a few times. I go there regularly for take-out. Pulled Pork BBQ sandwich/spicy fries. For 9 bucks, you just can’t beat it. The employees are always friendly. I’ve yet to have a bad experience there. The Highlands location is also a good location to people watch from the outdoor eating area. The sauce! A sweet! A spicy! An extra hot! I love all 3 of them! There have been a few gift exchanges that I’ve participated in online where I’ve sent people Mark’s sauces! From Texas to Oregon to Vermont… Each & every time, they’ve loved them! The only reason I took off a star is because every once in a while part of my pork sandwich will be too dry to eat. I normally just toss those pieces aside & devour the rest. Other notable items: Honey wings, Baked Apples, Sweet Cornbread, Fried Pickles. The chicken & brisket are tasty too, but I normally always go for the pork. The ribs are good, but they aren’t my favorite ribs in the city. I can’t end a review without directing you to my favorite desserts from here! Buttermilk Pie — Prepare for sugar Oreo Banana Pudding — The only way I’ll eat banana pudding Caramel Apple Sundae with Nuts — Can’t get enough of those baked apples

This is one of my favorite BBQ places, in all of Louisville. I’ve never been to this location, until now, however! It did not disappoint! I got the Lent special of Fried Fish with Lemon Pepper Sandwich, their amazing seasoned fries and cole slaw! The fish was so soft and flaky, it fell apart in my mouth! Very well done! Our waitress was kind and attentive and, for a busy Sunday afternoon, it felt like we were well taken care of! Since I’ve been to other locations, I can also recommend the Pork BBQ platter! It is usually my go-to!

Mark’s is a go-to. They are consistent and always friendly. And I love those fried pickles! I went around 9pm and it was pretty busy on a Thursday, that’s a sign they are doing it right. Last night I tried my first burgoo. Very delicious! If I had tried it before I wouldn’t have gotten it as a side to my chicken sandwich, it was like having some meat with a side of meat. :-) I was so excited to get my free piece of buttermilk pie for checking in– thanks, Unilocal
