Consistently falls short of any extremely low standard you have for Chinese fast food. This location has dragged Pandas reputation through the mud. Food is sub-par. The service is slow and most of the time unpleasant. Don’t even think about drive-thru.

This is my second and last time going to this PE. This is the worst Panda Expess I have ever seen. The drive through was closed, not a big deal, but the service was horrible. Several people had called out so only the cooks were there. I love the orange chicken but the were out. Apparently That is normal for this placeThe guy behind the counter said it would only take about 8 minutes. It ended up being over 20. Then the guy who actually served dished up the smallest portions I have ever seen. I said something and he just shrugged and went on. The slow service is the norm for this place. The other commenter who said the leave out«express» part was spot on.

They had the drive thru closed until 4:30pm today. It was only cooks working today because they said everyone else called in, but that is no excuse for how they behaved. They said it’d be 8 minutes on the orange chicken and it ended up being closer to 25 – 30 minutes. If we’d known we would have driven out to the Shelbyville Road location. Then before I even started to say my order the guy was grabbing up noodles, which I didn’t want, and starting to put them in the dish. I kinda like to be the one to choose my food. This has been a repetitive issue so I finally felt the need to write a review. Most of the food bowls were empty even though there weren’t that many people coming through the restaurant. Some stuff in the bowls looked burnt. They never seem to have enough people and they are always rude.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this review. Panda Express has been so clutch for the past year we have been in Louisville. I would say we have eaten here a total of 5 times. In the last two weeks we have had two very bad experiences. Tonight we ordered the orange chicken, pepper chicken, beef and broccoli and sting bean chicken. Mixed veggies and fried rice were our sides. Disappointment is an understatement. Both orders were a salty mess. I love to eat and I could not finish my meal. My wife either. Completely inedible. It will take a lot for me to go back at this point. My wife was very sick after her last visit. It’s a shame because we both love Chinese and it’s right by the house!!! How can Orange Chicken be salty? I dont get it. The search for go to Chinese takeout in Louisville continues…

They definitely leave the«Express» part out at this location. I spent the majority of my lunch waiting in a line that didn’t move for ten minutes and finally when we got to the counter they were almost out of everything! They don’t really care about the people who come inside as much as they do the people who go through the drive thru. But I will say that their orange chicken(which was the only thing they had) was really good.

Food was OK I got the chicken and mushrooms with fried rice. Service was not friendly. I asked for a water she gave me a kids size cup so I sent it back for a large cup and it came with some attitude. It’s quick and convenient but not really worth it if you have time go somewhere else.

This was my first Panda Express experience. I had terrible timing for the food I wanted to order. They were out of fried rice and teriyaki chicken, so I had to wait for the food to be made. However, I don’t ever mind waiting for fresh food. The wait took way longer than expected, so the cashier gave us free chicken egg rolls for our trouble. Those were really good! I ordered teriyaki chicken with a side of fried rice and cream cheese egg rolls. The chicken had amazing flavor and was very moist. I was not expecting that from a fast good Chinese place. The rice was not done at all, it was kind of crunchy as I was eating it which means it definitely needed to be cooked longer. The cream cheese eggs rolls were pretty decent. I’d ordered those again if I needed a snack. The restaurant was clean, and the staff was super friendly.

Panda has changed their fried rice. They have substituted corn(because it is yellow) for the eggs. I don’t know what this concoction is but, it is not fried rice.

Food tasted good but had to wait as they were out of everything we wanted to order. Long lines. Long wait.

Not prepared for lots of people. But I stayed in line because I drove out here and have been wanting Panda Express. Food has been always good when i come! They need more people working. One cashier is unacceptable! Going back and forth to the cashier the. To make plates don’t mix right!

I have eaten at this location twice during lunch hours and both times the entrees were completely dried out. $ 8 for complete and utter crap. Don’t waste your time unless the place is bumping with a crowd bc the food will be dry and old otherwise.

They just can’t get it right. I asked for sauce on the side and chopsticks, they were missing the sauce and gave me forks. Not offered a beverage, I’m disappointed. I just ate plain grilled chicken from panda express.

Don’t come in an hour before they close. Half the staff is cleaning up. Sweeping up under the booth I am sitting in waiting for carry out. All the chairs already up in the tables. Out of orange chicken there signature dish. Took over 45 minutes to get carry out.

I ordered beef with broccoli and firecraker chicken. The portions were so small. I literally didnt even get any beef, just broccoli and very few peices of chicken. I will definitely not be back. It was a rip off.

My wife got carryout from Panda Express on her way back from the store. She got Orange Chicken for herself and Beijing Beef for me. The Orange Chicken was disappointing, to say the least. I liked my Beijing Beef but the portions were unbelievably skimpy… for both dishes. There was quite literally a small handful of beef and chicken in each to-go container while half the boxes were filled with rice. I honestly prefer the fast food Chinese options at the mall — a lot more flavorful and quite a bit more food… more bang for your buck, Panda Express is very disappointing. It’s shame that there aren’t many local restaurants on Hurstbourne Pkwy — chain restaurants galore.

Gross. Egg rolls are slimy on the inside, noodles are hard and dry. Just go somewhere else nearby instead. Literally anywhere else.

This place is hit or miss but more often miss. The majority of my visits they were incredibly slow. Don’t name yourself«express» when there is nothing express about your business. I should probably specify that this is for the drive-through only since I have never been inside. You would think the drive-through would actually be fast. Don’t count on it. The very first time I went my portion sizes were incredibly small and my food was cold. I asked for sweet and sour sauce and it took the a whole 5 minutes to find some. When you do get our food(and when it’s not cold) it actually tastes just fine — like every other panda. If you go here just don’t have high expectations and you better not be in a hurry.

I’m giving it two stars instead of one because the staff was nice. The food honestly left something to be desired. It was your basic mall food-court type food. At the end of the day, it will make a turd. I guess that’s about all you can say for it. I’d rather go to McDonald’s.

I’ve been to various Panda Express locations in other cities and they were all decent fast food. I like the comparison by another reviewer to it being the Taco Bell of chinese food. that’s a perfect analogy! Anyway, I digress. I pulled into the drive thru after a long morning in hopes of grabbing a quick lunch after a rough morning. Love the idea of having a drive thru Chinese place, for sure. Pulled up and I was the third car in line. 12 minutes later(!!) I had my food. 12 minutes to plunk some chow mein and chicken in a box? Drive thru fail! Plus, they didn’t have any ice so I couldn’t get a drink. I get back to my hotel room ready to fend off a puppy and dig into my lunch. I open the container and was greeted by what used to be teriyaki chicken. It was completely burnt(see picture). The broccoli beef was overcooked to the point of being mush. Bleah. I ended up eating the chow mein and giving the biggest piece of charcoal chicken to the dog to eat like jerky. He loved it, I did not.

If you are just dying for some Chinese food and do not want to: Pay $$$ at P.F.Chang’s; Wait for carry out; Look for parking and then enter the mall food court; Or just so famished and cannot wait at a Chinese restaurant; (And I consider gringo Chinese to be a whole new food group.) Then, Panda Express can fill the void for you. Other than mall food court, I have never really experienced a fast food Chinese joint. And this one has a drive thru! So I was pretty excited to try Panda Express here in Louisville. The experience is Meh at Best. While I did appreciate the wide variety of choices laid out in front of me on the steam table, there were no new surprises I have not seen at the food court Chinese places. The diner has the choice of bowls, 2+a side, 3+a side or large size a la cart entrees. My choice of Shanghai Beef + Shanghai Surf & Turf were fine but not great. The beef was cut into thick planks which made them harder to cook through, therefore overcooked. The shrimp was a bit overcooked, also. On the other hand, hubby loved his Beijing Beef – beef slices coated and deep fried, then stir fried with this sweet smoky sauce. The sauce adheres really well to the coating. The sweet and sour chicken was decent. No gooey red sauce here. But the one major fail for this branch is their rice. Both the white rice and fried rice were just so hard, dry and inedible. They really need to increase the amount of water they put in the rice cooker. That rice was hard even by gringo Chinese standards! Service was fast and the place was bright and clean. If the previously mentioned few conditions were met, I will still return for a quick fix.
