I’ve taken all 3 of my dogs to SAH and I’ve never been disappointed. Almost everyone there seems to really like being there, and they always take great care of us. When my oldest dog died, the day after I’d taken him in to be checked out(he died at the Jefferson Animal Hospital on a Sunday night — either liver or heart failure, not sure which since JAH stopped running their tests when he passed), I called to let SAH know — I was devastated and knew I couldn’t handle getting a «reminder» card when he would have been due for shots. Dr. Rhiney called me that Monday evening to express his shock and sympathy. They also sent a card with some Forget-Me-Not seeds. Their office isn’t exactly convenient to my home(I pass 3 other vets to get there) but I wouldn’t take my dogs anywhere else, unless I had no choice(emergency, etc.) Dr. Greene is definitely my favorite and I know that I can always count on them to be honest, caring and as conservative as they can be(given any situation) when recommending/suggesting treatments.

This has been our famliy vet for about 30 years for over a dozen pets. Vets are wonderful and very down to earth(Dr. Geene is a favorite). Realistic view on treatment. They understand there are financial limits. All surgeries have gone well. There is always a follow up call. Our pets have lived long, health lives with their help. The prices seem fair but I have no interest in changing vets so I’m not sure.

I stumbled upon this vet when I first moved to Louisville, not knowing much about the area. It is pretty convenient on Taylorsville, near 264 and Bardstown Road, but not quite so hectic an area. My poor cat had eaten fleas and gotten worms after moving into my new apartment — it happens, but is always frustrating! I did have to pay for a full checkout since it was a new vet, even though I had just been to my one in MS the month before. Understandable. Pretty sure it was 50 for the exam and then 20-something for the pill and such. I had to work, and they allow drop off and pick up, which helped me a lot. My baby kitty wasn’t too freaked out when I picked her up(she is a little timid outside the comforts of the house) and no more worms. She’s been great since!
