The food is pretty good but otherwise this place is. not so good. Bad service with rude workers, loud, usually drunk teens on any weekend night and not very clean or inviting. Whether you’re looking for hookah or food, I’d search elsewhere: maybe Caspian Grill, or Saffron’s. For hookah Prince’s or Friends

I used to love this place and it has gone completely downhill. I wouldn’t suggest this to anyone anymore. Their selection is extremely slim and the back cooking area is incredibly dirty. They only had two types of meat and only six vegetables to choose from. Shahs is overpriced and has completely lost is lust. Save yourself the money and avoid this establishment at all costs now.

Made my first trip to Shah’s with my girlfriend recently and we will definitely be back! We stopped in for a late lunch on a weekday and were greeted by the owner, Holly. Very sweet lady who walked us through the process and difficult choice of choosing the right sauce. She was very friendly and full of suggestions! We handed our overflowing bowls to the cook at the grill and within minutes we had our meals. Very pleased with this $ 7.99 lunch special(one bowl, one trip plus salad and soup bar). The ingredients were all fresh and the order was grilled up to perfection! I think I personally made some delicious sauce choices(Korean BBQ + teriyaki + sczhuan) but will be heading back to Shah’s to try the others! Holly was so happy we stopped in that she gave us a $ 5 gift certificate to come back and told us not miss karaōke 7-nights a week from 9pm-3am!

This place has late hours which is great for after the bars. The food is delicious! I had the tofu and noodles and they prepare it right in front of you. We had carry out and only had to wait 10 minutes. The staff is really nice. we went one time for the hookah and the pipe wasn’t smoking right I don’t know if we had a bad one or if they all seem to do that. Every time we go there are tons of people smoking the hookah so I guess we just had a bad one. I would deff recommend this place! My boyfriend gets their carry out at least once a week.

This establishment has been reported for underage alcohol sales and allowing 15&16 year olds to use hookahs. We found out because of the photos my 16 year old daughter and her 15 year old friends took while drinking and smoking in this establishment.

Oh man… I almost forgot how much I love Shah’s. I frequented this place in college for it’s cheap beers and hookah, but I recently rediscovered it and am so so glad I did. The prices have gone up a bit since the days of $ 1 beer, but they’re still really reasonable and the food is oh-so-good. I had the sechzuan(i’m sure i murdered the spelling on that…) with chicken and my husband had the red pepper and they were both absolutely mouthwatering. Seriously… i’m salivating a bit just remembering it. Don’t let it’s location fool you, this place is awesome.

Great atmosphere and the hookah is pretty good too but don’t expect an excellent meal.

I would say Shah’s is the second best hookah lounge in louisville. The hookah is good and the food is delicious. The size of the place is quite small and the restrooms are dirty. There’s a limit on the number of coals that are free. They do however have a large selection of flavors. The hookah is fairly priced. The hours aren’t that great and there’s limited parking.

I had already been drinking for a good portion of the day when we decided hookah was a good idea. The place we passed on Bardstown Road was not open yet and so this is where we randomly landed. I can only base my experience on the super friendly staff and flavorful hookah. And the $ 10 bucket of PBR… haha. All were excellent. I especially enjoyed the bathroom graffiti. Since this joint is close to campus, the crowd was of the younger sect. However, nobody seemed to mind the two 31 year olds laughing and carrying on in the corner. I can’t say that I would go out of my way to go here when I am craving some hookah in Louisville but based on this one experience I would say to give it a try if you are close by!

Little place with decent stir-fry. Wouldn’t recommend for families or anything, but it’s a good place for college kids and the like with it’s proximity to UofL and it’s inexpensive food. It seems at least half of the place is usually filled with people there only for the hookah, but I haven’t tried it there.

This place is great for fast, cheap, fresh, good tasting Mongolian style noodle bowls. Looks like they have crap beer(Miller Light, Budweiser) for super cheap too, if you are into that. Also, hookahs. Always someone new working the register, but the cooks are always the same. They also do some bar food, like chicken fingers and jalapeño poppers, as well as some other random stuff, but the Pick One Mongolian bowl is where it’s at.

Inexpensive, tasty food, that’s ready in a few minutes… with vegetables included! This is my kind of place. Ok, so sometimes the cashier is bored, and the seating is uncomfortable and once they made me sit outside because my son was eating a Subway sandwich from next door(the place was empty), but I still like them and often take something to go. I love being able to customize my order and sauces(extra garlic, etc)

I’m a fan of Shah’s. Hilarious comments about the slightly confusing menu are spot on. It’s Mongolian BBQ so that’s somewhat true to form. I’d give 3,5 stars to Shah’s for putting a quality bowl on the table inexpensively and authentically, half a point off for the hookah smell(carry out is a viable option but someone has to go in and get it).

Casual? Yes. But wonderful and delicious! Big bowls of food starting at just $ 5. Every time I have been in there the service has been great, quick and given with a smile! Of course it is a hookah bar too so if you’re not into that I would just recommend getting your food to go. But if you are into that there is a ton of different sheeshah to choose from!

My son goes to U of L and my office is next to the stadium so we meet for lunch sometimes. Today we were debating where to go and he says this place is great. Now, I’ve driven by it 100 times but just never went. Excellent food and even a decent beer selection. I mean $ 5 for 5 Buds or $ 10 for 5 Magic Hat’s…pretty good deal. Too bad I was eating lunch or I would have partaken in the selection! Give it a try, I’m pretty sure you’ll be back again.

A big bowl of delicious noodles or rice for just $ 5! Pick your protein, sauce, veggies. I told them I wanted spicy curry and they hooked me up. The service wasn’t great… The girl seemed miserable and bored and rushed me through picking ingredients even though there wasn’t a line. Later, I asked her politely if they had limes and she simply said«NO» and barely looked at me. I thought that was weird… since they serve Corona. Oh well, it’s cheap and tasty!
