I had ANPAC(American National Property and Casualty) Renters, Auto, and Life insurance for almost 5 years. They are incredibly difficult to deal with. With my first agent Vonna Olman, who no longer works for the company, she waited so long to process my renter’s insurance that I actually got an eviction warning from my rental company, which required renter’s insurance for residents. It was an unbelievably frustrating ordeal. When I was in a car accident, I couldn’t get anyone(my agent or otherwise) on the phone to help me. I got more help, quickly and to-the-point from the other party’s insurance agent(through State Farm). After my original agent… disappeared…from the company, I was assigned to another agent who I never met or spoke with. A couple months later, I was assigned to yet another agent, Shane Mattingly. During my last move, Shane updated my auto insurance incorrectly, in fact he said that my insurance doubled in price 6 months after my move because *I* «never told him I was moving»(except I had, and he was sending my bills and information to the correct new address). For those 5 years, there were several instances when a bill was sent to me a month or more PASTTHEDUEDATE. One cannot possibly pay a bill on time if the bill either a) never comes or b) is already a month or more delinquent when you receive it. In July 2012, I cancelled my auto and renter’s insurance with ANPAC, but had to keep my life insurance policy because of the penalties for canceling before 10 years were up. Which isn’t horrible, the price is ok. But ANPAC sources their life policies to a 3rd party company who is exceptionally difficult to get in contact with. Despite changing my address verbally with an agent, AND writing on the«Address Change» section of all my bills received from them in the last year, my mail is still going to an address I haven’t lived at in over a year. I tried calling my agent, Mattingly, to fix it: no go. I emailed him asking him to fix it and contact me when he did so: 3 weeks later and it still hadn’t been done. I tried calling once more, was forwarded to customer service, who could not help me with the life insurance policy stuff because…3rd party crap. I *finally* got an 800 number for the life policies, and after 30+ minutes on hold(& after a year of trying to update/fix my address) finally had the issue resolved. So…I would advise STAYINGAWAY from ANPAC for all your insurance needs. I’d recommend State Farm, instead.
