I have to give a shout out to this Taco Bell location for always getting my insane order right. There are very few TB’s in the area this good! I am not an easy order, I always ask for roughly 2 – 3 substitutions per burrito. Yes, slightly embarrassing, but a girl loves her vegetarian burritos. They also know I mean business when I ask for A LOT of Fire Sauce. Kudos my friends.

This place is whack as hell. Every time I come here, they get my order wrong and the wait is horrendous. I should start asking them to put extra lettuce on everything, because every time I ask them for no lettuce, they don’t heed my request.

My experience today was definitely bad. The person at the counter couldn’t be bothered to speak other than the total. Food took forever and my taco was missing part of the shell. The crunchy shell tasted stale. Every table in the place was filthy, with trash on the floor.
Someone in front of me ordered dine-​in. They were given food in a bag with the excuse that they were out of trays. But there were at least 30 trays stacked on the counter. What is going on with this place? GEEZ!
I know it’s Taco Bell, but it could at least be clean!

No stars here! My girlfriend and I ordered a few things for a late lunch. 10 minutes?! No other customers! Never again!

Let’s face it. Taco Bell is a favorite poison to a lot of people. I don’t love it, but I also don’t hate it. In the entire city, I think the Highland’s Taco Bell/​Pizza Hut is one of the freshest.
For this combination Taco Bell/​Pizza Hut location in particular, it’s also awesome when I’m in the mood for a snack. Stop by, get a quesadilla along with an order of Pizza Hut bread sticks.
Although they’re open late with their drive thru, it’d be nice if they kept the inside open for just as long. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked home from a bar or been walking with friends intoxicated and we’ve wanted that Taco Bell late at night. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t serve us walking through the drive-​thru. They told us we needed a car or they were going to call the cops on us! Dude! We’re too intoxicated to drive through your drive-​thru! Just let us order! (They never let us order by walking through the drive through) :-/​

OK, I’m about to be one of those people.
I’m about to complain about a sub-​par fast food experience.
I know what you’re about to say: «Seriously? Taco Bell isn’t fine dining.»
True. But to this I say 1) I’m not comparing it with places like, say, Mayan Café or Vincenzo’s. And 2) For the most part, I’ve found the staff at the local fast food restaurants — of which I don’t frequent a ton, but enough — very pleasant and professional and the food to be overall of the quality you would expect for the money you are paying.
So with that in mind, I have to give this Taco Bell/​Pizza Hut, or Taco Hut, two stars. I just haven’t experienced great service.
On two occasions over about a week –yes two … it was a busy week — I went through the drive-​through of this location. There were at most two cars ahead of me when I pulled up, yet the wait ended up being in the 15 – 20 minute range for me to get my food.
It was long enough to where I couldn’t in good faith keep my car on. So, seeing that it was late at night, I turned it off, put my seat back a bit and waited.
And then when I got to the drive-​through window, the employees on both occasions seemed exhausted and beyond the point of really giving friendly service.
For this, I don’t blame them. It seemed like both times that they had had trying nights, which makes me wonder if this location is not being staffed to the level it should be. Other reviews for this T. Bell sing praises of great customer service. What was going on?
So when this happened once to me, I could shrug it off, but two times? This seems like more than just a bad night.
Taco Bell is still one of the quickest, fastest places to get a late-​night bite. But the serious delays call this into question.

This is actually a Long John Silvers/​Taco Bell combo. The girl was not very friendly and the food was really flavorless. I eat at LJS pretty often and I don’t understand how this place’s batter had absolulely no flavor.
The cole slaw was put in the bag with the lids half off so the cole slaw spilled out into the bag.

TB is never going to be 5-​star dining. But when you want a cheap-​ass quesadilla at 10pm on a Tuesday night… you know where you can get it.
And I’ve said it for other TB locations and the comment stands for this location as well: Taco Bell *consistently* has the most pleasant and personable (drive-​thru) staff of ANY fast food location. Kudos.

I never expect much from Taco Bell… Grade D beef «enhanced» with silica dioxide (aka: sand) and not-​so-​fresh veggies. But, when you’re hungry from a «late night» and have the crave, what do you do (besides drive a little further to La Bamba)?
As far as TB’s go, this one has some of the friendliest drive-​thru people and always seems clean, which must be hard being located in «light night central» Highlands.

when i first moved to louisville i went to a show at tewligans. it was rodan, crain, and spavid. i knew like no one. i went alone. it was amazing and frightening at the same time. after the show everyone went to this taco bell and since then i think mark palgy and i have eaten there over 323 times in the 15 years i lived in ky.
mexican pizzas. crunchy tacos. mt dew baja breeze.
i only gave this place 5 stars because of sentimental reasons. everyone has that one special taco bell. this one is mine.
