One of the worst places in louisville. Went on a Tuesday completely empty had to pay 5 bucks to be in an empty bar.

Get ready to pay high covers. If you are looking to chill out and have a beer with friends this is not the place for you. This is a location that is all about music… and charging for it.

This place shouts at you that it’s punk rock. While I’ve only went to a few shows there, I had a blast at each one. If I was judging this place as a hangout spot… I’d probably give it 2 stars. It’s fun & they do have an outside area which helps, but unless there is a band that you want to see… I’d skip this place. I wish they would draw more bands. Every time I look at their calendar, it seems that a lot of Louisville bands play here. Don’t get me wrong… that’s awesome, but they definitely have the potential to draw more bands in. If you want to go with a friend to wind down after work, you might get bored. If you’re going to hang out… then definitely take a group of 4 – 5 friends. I’d also recommend this place as a last stop. If you’ve been out other places & want to wind down by yourself… then go here. I should note that they don’t have AC so if it’s hot outside & you want to cool down then you’re not going to achieve that here. The bar is basic. Fast & friendly service. You’ll find some things but as far as rare drinks… look elsewhere. Overall, I’d only go here if there’s a band you want to see playing.

BYFAR the most efficient and friendly venue in Louisville. They were a pleasure to work with and were extremely accommodating. If you’re a touring band or booking agent definitely look into The New Vintage as your show destination!

I’ve been coming to the former Uncle Pleasants and all of it’s various incarnations for years,(anyone else remember Flashbacks?), and I have to say that The New Vintage has made some nice upgrades to this building. The bar area is much nicer, cleaner now with what looks like a whole new bar installed and the back of the main room now has more seating with the junky old pool tables gone. There is an outdoor area for smokers now, which during shows will be filled with non-smokers too between bands because of the lack of A/C in the building,(more on that in a moment). And they are bringing in lots of exciting bands/artists, so there are a lot of shows going on here. And the sound is much better. I’ve seen lots of shows here before it was The New Vintage and they all generally sounded pretty terrible. But the shows I’ve seen since it’s been The New Vintage have sounded pretty good. Generally very loud, but good. But the stage area hasn’t gotten any better unfortunately. The stage is still pretty much the same in regards to being rather tattered looking. And there has certainly been no upgrades on the air conditioning. Even on nights when it’s not packed, the temp and humidity in the band room is like a sauna wrapped up in a yoga place. So yeah, saying it’s a bit stuffy in there is a bit of an understatement. This has been a problem with every club/bar in this building though. I feel bad for the bands from out of town who get booked here during the summer and have no idea what they are walking into. And the few beers they had on tap and in bottles were rather overpriced. $ 6 for drafts. The cheapest beer they had last time I was there was a $ 5 Red Stripe bottle. They do at least give free ice water in large glasses, as it’s very necessary after spending any time in the main area. Going here and spending anything more than 10 minutes in the main room ends up making me avoid drinking alcohol like it was the plague, as getting drunk in dead heat just isn’t much fun for some reason. Kind of the exact opposite of what a bar should be going for, driving your customers away from drinking. A/C = less heat = comfortable customers = more alcohol sales. Did I mention it was hot in there? Overall not bad if you just want to hang out at the bar and drink $ 6 Guinness and Fat Tire.

Horrible. Was there for a CD release party. No A/C on a 90 degree day. $ 5, warm Mic Ultra. VERY few seats, The guy at the door insisted on scanning my ID into an app — said it was in case there was an emergency they would know who was in the building??? Won’t be back.

I think I have only actually seen like 2 shows at The New Vintage, but was glad to see them re-open that spot where Uncle Pleasants once was in the past. It’s a great location being near U of L’s campus as well as Zanzabar and some other businesses. My first several experiences here were interesting to say the least. They used to have Motown Mondays — which always seemed to simply be motown songs playing on someone’s phone through their pandora account. Even still… it holds a place dear to me because who doesn’t love listening to motown songs and drinking a beer? :) The bar is basic. They have your average hits and not much else. The people behind the bar are friendly, and it never seems to take long to get a drink. That’s a huge plus. As far as live music goes, they seem to always have something going on, and definitely open it up to local bands/artists which I appreciate. The sound is not great in that room… or so it seems to me. I will continue to visit The New Vintage and keep my fingers crossed that they bring back the now defunct Motown Mondays with some flare(hint hint). My beau and I loved it.

Bouncer is incredibly racist and the drinks are ridiculously expensive. Would not recommend going to this bar. Even if the band is good.

The New Vintage has a pretty good sound. I saw Loop /Coliseum /People’s Temple here on 4÷29÷14 and had a great time. Old Milwaukee were $ 3 and that’s about the extent of my interest in this place as a «bar.» They tend to book bands more on the metal side based on glancing at their calendar, but in Louisville that usually means a hard rock band with a good backbeat and at least some awareness of how things lie in today’s music. Louisville has produced more than its share of hardcore bands so it’s probably not a bad idea that they lean that direction.

Great place to see a show, terrible prices on drinks, and the bartenders were a bit conceited.

Freakin’ rip off. Show was advertised for $ 5 in the LEO, but was charged $ 10 at the door. Import drafts are ridiculously high.
