We used ABF for moving from Louisville to Northern Indiana and I cannot say enough good things about them. The phone support people work with you to get things on a schedule you can live with. The driver who dropped the trailer(Cletus) was a walking ad for them, he was THAT good. He asked where we wanted the trailer, placed it exactly where we wanted, and helped answer any questions we had. It was the same with when we were finished loading, a simple call to the local terminal was all it took(talked to manager there, by accident, no way it was a complaint call) and they scheduled pickup. Everyone we talked with were friendly and efficient. All went well and the same was true on the receiving end. Moving is not my favorite activity, by any means, but by hiring a loading crew on each end, renting a trailer from ABF, we were extremely happy with our moving experience. Now to find a plumber to get hot water in the showers in the new home…

Moving is a colossal headache, and moving 2200 miles is just about the highest form of torture. But we survived, and we did so in large part because ABF was great. The service was fast, affordable, professional, and completely transparent. We moved two big pods across the country for $ 2200, and given that we didn’t have to drive, and it took less than a week, I consider that a huge bargain. ABF sets you up with a «relo-cube»(or several, if you wish) in your driveway or alleyway, or whatever, which you pack and unpack yourself(unless you want to pay extra for the labor). They can also give you a truck, which would serve the same purpose, and you only pay for the space you use. But you don’t have to worry about weight, and you don’t have to worry about surprise charges, and you don’t have to worry about driving. If you can afford the extra thousands to spend on hiring movers to box and carry everything for you, that’s obviously great for you. But if you’re poor or a bit cheap or kind of a control freak, packing your own pod also has the benefit of largely eliminating the issue of responsibility over lost or broken items. And with that strategy, I was really impressed with the way ABF handled everything once it was out of my own hands. This is a good company.
